Loved it here! So the cabins are so good and the whole place is absolutely spotlessly clean! The staff so friendly. Well stocked tackle shop, great cafe and bar too and all very reasonable in price. Accommodation costs are also very reasonable for what you get! The grounds and lakes are exceptionally well kept. We will be returning!

Visited the Cafe and while it was tidy and clean, the food was average. I opted for the โ€˜Big Catchโ€™ which is a breakfast dish served all day. Two eggs, two sausages and bacon, beans, mushrooms a fried slice of toast, white bread toast and a tea or coffee. This cost ยฃ8.99 but everything was very โ€˜basicโ€™. The ingredients are all of โ€˜Cash & Carryโ€™ quality but the price does not reflect this. It could be a real local gem, but I feel is let down by the cheapest sourced ingredients - even the coffee is not ground or branded - this is something so simple to rectify and have a tie in with the likes of Lavaza who would provide the machine, cups and coffee and this would change the coffee from substandard to excellent and raise more revenue. Why not get some dry cured bacon? Why not offer decent bread - not the cheapest white sliced offering. Small things would go a long way to improve the site.

Not a very nice breakfast at all for the price and the food is squashed onto a tiny plate . Staff didnโ€™t seem warm and welcoming at all compared to other places Iโ€™ve visited.

Staff are really welcoming in all, and the on-site fishing tackle shops is well kitted out with lodes of options my family come here at-least twice a year every year my first time myself with them but already booked with them to come back next year!!! Also where itโ€™s located amazing place for walking or running! With it being dog friendly just another added bonus

Spotlessly clean lodges hot tub checked and cleaned every day, cafe looks like a cafe inside but serves delicious food equal to anything I've eaten in many restaurants. The Mallard bar is a lovely lounge to sit in whether it's for coffee and cake during the day or a few beers in the evening ,and last but not least the fishing is great. Don't hesitate ๐Ÿ‘.

Been going to these cabins for the last 13 years. Everything about Westwood lakes is great. The fishing. Good in the fishermanโ€™s rest. Great in the Mallard lounge as well. We keep going back and will continue to do so.

Stayed at westwood lakes in April 23. The cabins were spacious well equipped and clean. The fishing was great with multiple well stocked lakes to choose from. Be sure to check the notice board outside reception for which lakes have matches on. A very well stocked tackle shop onsite and also a good cafe that does a great breakfast. The onsite bar also has quiz nights on.

Absolutely loved this place. Very comfortable accommodation and well-equipped. Beautiful surroundings with lots of birds and waterfowl. Staff very helpful and friendly. Lovely food in the restaurant, either to eat in or take back to our lodge. Hubby said fishing lakes are very well-kept and well-stocked. A very well-done to Alan (proprietor), the family and all the staff, for making this a most enjoyable holiday (despite the weather!!) for us. We will be back!

We only live 12 miles away from the lakes. We thought we would give it a go. What an amazing place. The log cabin was a dog friendly one and it was pure luxury. We will be back again. Hubby loved the fishing right outside the door.

Amazing place 6 of us stayed for a week in 2 cabins. cabins are lovely and the facilities are good, the cafe did a lovely breakfast which didn't have an ounce of grease on, the bar is spacious with friendly staff. Also there is a tesco about a mile up the road so your never short for essentials or a mini bank. My only 2 gripes was the lakes are very shallow, I know the water level is down with not much rain but even so 18 inch in the middle of some lakes was a shock. The other was that no toilet seat stayed up without having to hold it, same in our mates cabin(a small gripe but starts to bug you after a few days) that said we all enjoyed it so much that we are trying to book for next year!

Had another amazing 3 night stay, Fishing as always has been brilliant as expected. My favourite place by far is the mallard pub and with the covid restrictions in place everything ran smoothly and we was well looked after as usual by Amy/Claire. Why iv marked the visit down to great instead of excellent is the obnoxious man who works in the tackle shop who seems to never smile or have any customer service skills and always tryโ€™s to make things difficult ie lake bookings he argued with one of our party on more than one occasion not very professional hopefully on our next visit he might crack a smile ๐Ÿ˜‰ on the plus side cheers Allan as always for your hospitality great bloke n a cracking fishery ๐ŸŽฃ๐ŸŸ๐ŸŸ๐ŸŸ๐ŸŸ be back soon

Always enjoy visiting the lakes if only for a stroll with the dog; accomodation has always been fab whenever we've booked a lodge and the cafe/coffee lounge are both excellent.

If you are willing to pay for catch a fish then do it. I would rather fish in Witham and challenge my skills and knowledge of waters and fish rather than pay someone for literally putting a fish in my nets.
