Please read to the end if you are trying to rent here. Don’t live here. The most dishonest staff! They tell you a bunch of lies at the beginning and as soon as you move in, nothing is their problem! Since day 1, we had issues with lies. It is obvious that they only want you to sign the lease and get stuck with a lease. The first day we saw the place they told us that they had a 300 dollar discount on the place because of the windows opening to the garage, so the price was lowered from 1380 to 1080, then when signing the lease they told us: sorry there was a miscommunication on our end, we meant 1180(a 200 dollar discount) and they assured us the only issue was the garage window. We moved in, and after a week of living here and the whole structure shaking everyday we realized the apartment was above the fitness center! I cannot tell you how traumatized we are from waking up in the middle of the night and early morning (4AM) from the sound of people throwing their weights on the floor, or running on treadmills. The worst thing is that there is no communication here! We took it, and nobody apologized to us! Just be careful! The mold is only a small issue that can happen in any apartment. But having people lie to you, just to get you to sign the lease and disrespect you for advocating for yourself after that… The mold that others mentioned is the smallest problem for us right now! We just haven’t touch the windows for month, it is annoying but whatever! We disinfect them every once in a while (since the mold keeps growing back). Just be careful with this place if you want to rent. Make sure you have everything written down. There is a big chance that the person you talked to is not here in the first month you live here!

A lot of older reviews talk about sanitary conditions, as someone who has lived here since January & to have never seen the referenced issues I would take those with a grain of salt. I will say however every property will have its flaws: for me the biggest issue is our private parking deck (which is so helpful in the winter, rain, etc.) which seems to be lousy with teens skating, smoking, parking & doing who knows what else. While this is a nuisance to anyone who lives on that side of the building we do understand that without trespassing signs in place people are free to do whatever they’d like no matter how disturbing. This would be my number one suggestion for improvement. Other cons include no occupied convenient retail spaces, and some residents will prop open our secure doors to let others in which seems highly unsafe when left unchecked. Onto the good now, and there ARE lots of pros: I once had a maintenance guy tell me about a problem with my air when I didn’t even know yet because he saw my unit frozen from the apartment below, he didn’t have to do anything about it until I put in a request probably days later so that was very nice. I also lost a package once and our newest (best out of the three since I’ve moved in) manager called around and even walked over the property it had been incorrectly delivered to in order to get it for me. Mail boxes are covered either in your building or the parking deck + Packages are brought to your door by one of the front office staff. The staff also fully stocks snacks and games in our many hang out areas, if one roof is full, odds are you can have a great time on the other roof, or at the pool table in our lobby. Our gym is 24/7 and has more (and better) equipment than any other property I’ve lived at over my past almost 10 years of renting spaces. There is also a standing tanning booth available to residents soon! I never have noise issues inside the building to the point I wasn’t even sure I had neighbors until I saw them! The space I rent was brand new at the time with state of the art appliances, solid granite features, and ample storage space in each room. I also have two dogs with me, they love how open my entire space is especially the living room & spend every afternoon running around the dedicated dog park behind our parking deck! And every time we walk through the lobby we make a pit stop to the cookie jar for pets! The property stays very clean, I can see a maintenance guy walk our garage daily to remove trash items. The other residents, even if you don’t see them much, are always very friendly and courteous in the elevators, garage, or other common areas. Our lobby also hosts several fun (usually catered) events a month so you can meet others on the property, most recently handing out raviolis for National pasta day, celebrating Oktoberfest with a beer truck & hot dogs, opening night watch party for local sports, wine tastings, yoga classes, popcorn hours, handing out succulents over summer, the list goes on! All in all you can find complaints about everywhere you go, but since I moved to the area this is the better of the two apartments I’ve lived at (other being enclave), I am excited to be re-leasing for another year of calling this my home.

The fire alarms went off at least once a month and were on for 5 hours on Christmas. As there were no staff, the fire department had to shut off the water without permission from the complex, and stated that if we heard the alarm go off again that we *needed* to leave as it would be an actual fire. They charge absolutely too much for the footage and their property managers are pretty rude. The front desk folks are angels, so don't get them confused. I also had a package that delivered from Japan after I had moved and I went through the post office AND the complex and the property manager rudely told me they had "returned to sender", 5 months later and they still haven't received the package, so I have to assume the complex stole my package. The walls are super thin, it's like living in a hotel, so if you like hearing people running on top of you, and restaurants below you, and over-priced rent, welcome home.

DO NOT RENT from them. They appear nice but a total ripoff!! My daughter lived here while going to SIUE & I chose it because it seemed like a friendly, safe place for her. Once the lease was signed, the staff was not friendly & then when she moved out they kept the entire security deposit. They stated it was for repairs, paint & pet odor (support dogs). I’ve been in my daughter’s apt & other than shampooing the carpet in the shoebox sized bedroom, there would be no odor in the vinyl floors (even though they claim there is!). There were command strips used on the walls & when they removed them it pulled off some paint & drywall. We patched it since it did that & all they had to do was sand & paint, but they claim they had to redo all of it (of course they did). We also took pics of the apt when we moved out because we had a feeling this would happen. Sad that businesses take advantage of individuals like this, just wanted my daughter in a safe place being away from college. People are pathetic!!!

I have lived at Whispering Heights since July of 2021 and have overall enjoyed my experience here. The amenities (24/7 gym, lobby, rooftop, & hangout areas) have been so useful. Being able to walk right onto my floor and into my apartment from the top floor of the parking garage has been so nice, especially during the winters. However, I will suggest that some security and regulation of the parking garage could be beneficial. I know some other tenants have told me about unfortunate events they have seen within the parking garage. I, however, have lived with windows facing the road on the opposite side of the building for the duration of my time living here so I have not had too many issues with this. Other than what looks like high schoolers coming into the parking garage to take pictures and record Tik Toks or just hangout. Nevertheless, I have had a great experience at Whispering Heights and would recommend it to others. The bike storage, mailing room and boxes, easy access to the trails, and fun events and food/drinks the management staff has put on and provided to residents in the lobby are just a few highlights of this apartment complex and all it has to offer.

I have nothing but amazing things to say about Whispering Heights. I started out at Enclave behind them where Jaylynn first worked. When she left I was devastated and followed her to Whispering. I knew walking in I was going to be well taken care of and have never left a conversation with any of the staff feeling lost or confused. The amount of patience and compassion they have is amazing. From top to bottom the building is well taken care of, clean, and safe. They have all doors locked after a certain hour that can only be accessed by residents with a key. I have lived in a studio and a two bedroom and both have been clean, in order, and no damage. I am thankful to be living somewhere where I feel at home while I am in school. Would recommend Whispering Heights to anyone looking for a safe and pleasant place to live. A huge thank you to everyone working there for all their help and patience.

5/5 Star Rating! I have lived at Whispering Heights for a long time; since inception (nearly) and I have never been happier. The property management team are always there for me. I am happy for them. It’s like a family here and there is no place like home. 🙏 Best regards, Jeffrey Lombardi Edwardsville - Whispering Heights 💞

we are moving out now, but lived here for 2 years. The staff were always really nice and maintenance was always prompt and friendly. it was a nice apartment and area. The only reason we moved was the rent was getting a little high for us and we needed more room

😠 Absolutely ridiculous electronic key system that breaks over and over. As a former resident I am glad I got our before this most recent set of maintenance changes. 😠 Do not recommend if you are an international student! They will use everything (your lack of knowledge about process in USA etc.) on their advantage plus even the maintenance person can come and ask you about your Visa. we ended up paying $2,125 per month for an apartment instead of $1500 or $1600

😠 The don't deserve a negative star like really let's be realistic 😭. The single bedrooms are same size as a two bedroom. It's sad bc they will play off a three bedroom is large but in reality it's just an extra room added in 😴.
