I don’t often have a negative review of a Marriott owned hotel, but this one disappointed me unfortunately. A positive to start. The location is great being right downtown. Easy walk to Busch Stadium. After that, it was mostly underwhelming for us comparable to the price/ points to stay. Valet was a mess. Took a long time and no room to park as we arrived. First time in a long time I wasn’t greeted with welcome waters or anything for being a Marriott titanium member. No biggie but just shows the level of service was lacking compared to other properties we visit. Room was ok. Looked out to a dirty area. Loud at night. Only had two towels in the room (for 4 of us). Lastly, we had a firm departure time of 7:30 am. I asked over and over if breakfast started at 6:30. Yes sir was the answer. We get down there at 7 am and crickets. Sit down and finally a lady comes over and said they are closed. Mmm ok. All in all, we won’t be returning to this property next time we stay downtown STL.

Hotel Saint Louis was a lovely place to stay while in town for a work conference. It is upscale, historical and updated to be modern yet holds true to the beauty of being an older hotel. The hotel is in the center of downtown so it comes with the noise but the advantage is you are within walking distance to so many things nearby. What is even greater than the stay is the excellent customer service, the hotel staff was kind and friendly. I was consistently greeted and conversed with by staff. The restaurant has a great list of spirits and wines to partake in, Wine Wednesday was a hit and the French onion soup was particularly cheese which was quite a delight.

Really wonderful hotel. Marriott benefits got me into a king suite which was a large room with lots of fine furnishings and finishes, plus a futuristic bidet that you would usually find in Japan. The doormen, bellmen, and front desk staff were excellent. This hotel has one of the few lounges left in the USA with complimentary wine and beer!!! Which is amazing,. I took off one star because the F&B outlets at the hotel could use a little more staffing and training. I know... staffing is a huge challenge right now. But usually our breakfasts were run by one server for the entire restaurant. Same for the roof top bar sometimes.

The hotel is beautiful. A beautiful building, tasteful interior design. But that's about it. I have rarely - no, wait - never ever (!) encountered such uninterested staff. One had partly the feeling that one disturbs. It started with our arrival: we parked in front of the building and were unloading our luggage - there were several suitcases. Someone was watching us. I first thought this was another guest, as he was dressed normally - in a thick jacket. As some suitcases fell over, this person laughed. Then, upon entering the hotel, he wordlessly held the door open and it became clear to us: this is a staff member. After all, the check-in went quickly - but service staff was also uninterested. However, the room was also beautiful. Service in the restaurant: Well - you wait a long time at the sign "Please wait to be seated" - finally no one comes and you seat yourself. At some point, the aforementioned man in the thick jacket came and brought us - obviously annoyed - a menu. Wait. No menu. A tablet. Which was definitely not disinfected. All staff was generally slow and inattentive. They communicate with each other by shouting loudly through the dining room. All in all: a terrible experience, which is def. not worth a tip. So: I did not put a tip on the bill. After checkout I receive an email with a slightly too high amount. Guess what: yes. The staff tipped themselves. There was no indication of mandatory tipping anywhere, so unfortunately I have to assume fraud. On the part of the hotel, of course, there is no more feedback. Never again.

The man at the front door is kind, so helpful and welcoming. He makes your experience here great from start to finish. He was greatly appreciated throughout our stay. Helped everyone who stayed here for the wedding I attended more than once without asking. Cute and clean boutique hotel.

This hotel is nicely furnished as a historic boutique hotel in downtown St Louis. My one issue with my stay was the lack of service at the hotel’s restaurant. The first morning it took 90 min for our eggs to arrive. And we were incorrectly charged for the breakfast. The next day we waited and waited and the food never arrived. We had to walk to find another breakfast spot. Very disappointing for such a nice hotel. This experience at the restaurant diminished our 2 night stay. I’ve left emails and voicemails for the manager Drummond but have yet to hear back.

The stay was fantastic!!! Loved everything about my stay!! HOWEVER, CHECK YOUR BILL!!! I was charged almost $40 for the hotel restaurant that I never stepped foot in. Then, six weeks after my stay, they had the nerve to charge me again for the hotel restaurant that I never stepped foot in!! I don't think it was an accident, I was there for a wedding and the same thing happened to several of the other wedding guests that stayed at the hotel!! I still have not been reimbursed and will be filling a claim with the BBB today!!

I booked this hotel as a treat to myself as a little mom getaway for a friend getting married this past weekend. The only reason I am giving two stars is because the staff were amazing! Everyone from valet staff to front desk, restaurant, and spa staff were all lovely and friendly. However, for the amount I paid for a two night stay, I really expected the room to at least be clean. When I walked in to my room, it was clear that the carpet hadn’t been vacuumed and there was an excessive amount of dust on the desk and picture frames. The bed spread had a black mark on it and the chair at the desk had some sort of substance on it. There was still some trash in the bottom of the garbage can. The makeup mirror in the bathroom was broken, as well as the shower head, decreasing water pressure. Speaking of the bathroom, there were hairs and some dirt left in the bathtub. I was not left a robe, even though the website noted there was supposed to be one. I requested two extra pillows because the bed wasn’t terribly comfortable, and even though they said they fulfilled that request through the app, they never did. I have had much more pleasant experiences at much cheaper hotels. Overall, I spent almost $1,000 in those two days between the rooms, spa, and restaurant, and left feeling incredibly disappointed, and congested from all of the dust. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone! I took pictures of everything except the broken shower head and makeup mirror, but couldn’t figure out how to post them.

I used my credit card to book the room for the weekend. When I checked in, I had to use my card again. Only this time I used my debit card. That was a big mistake. I was charged twice and a week later this issue has not been fixed. I was also charged $100 for $50 breakfast and charged on both cards for that. As it stands I'm out nearly $1000.00. Be very careful because it is not easy getting refunded. I still haven't been.

I loved this hotel and wish we could have stayed longer. The best thing about our room was the BIDET! The bed was perfect. Our room had a record player, AND they included records for us to listen to. There was a TV in the bathroom mirror. The shower was amazing--the bathtub and shower were in a huge stall, roomy and comfortable for multiple people. I wish the rooftop bar hadn't been closed for a wedding. We'd been looking forward to that. It would be nice if they had a separate event space and bar space. Have cocktails at the downstairs bar--eat somewhere else.

This place is winner. Service was great, appreciated the speedy and courteous check in. Lobby is gorgeous, well appointed with a great bar/restaurant connected. We stayed in a 2 queen room. Comfy, clean and a good size. Really nice marble entryway. Bathroom is huge and the heated toilet was awesome. Location by the ball park and Arch is convenient. Stayed at a few other hotels in the same location and this place would beat them all. Can't wait to go back!

As far as the rooms go, they're really neat. The building is really cool. The front desk staff and bar staff are really professional and knowledgeable. Loved having a record player in the room. I did place a room service order at 1015pm (the website when you scan the barcode in the room says it's open until 11) and waited until 1115 for anything to show. Nothing did. Called them downstairs and was told it actually closes at 10. Maybe update your website or at least have it not allow you to put the order through or even give me a notification that it didnt go through. Otherwise a really nice place.

This Hotel is breathe taking and one of a kind. The ballroom is stunning and just such a modern yet timeless vibe for a ballroom reception. I got married here in March of 2023 and it was literal perfection. The venue has a different coordinator, Dalton, since last year and he works literally into the night to make sure your event is smooth and perfect. He has been with the hotel for years now and he was made for this position. The food at our wedding was phenomenal, we were able to request a specific chef. The hotel had so many special little surprises planned for us and I cried literal tears when I saw the ballroom set up. It is so special there. Dalton and the hotel allowed us to utilize many parts of the hotel in preparation for the wedding. I literally felt like a celebrity walking in there. Every employee makes you feel like family and it was just the most special week leading up to the wedding with everyone. At minimum, you should definitely your this venue for your wedding. It is hands down the prettiest hotel in Saint Louis and I know the chandeliers in the ballroom will sell you. Thank you to Dalton & Hotel Saint Louis for an amazing wedding week and reception, it could not have went more smoothly and perfect!

This a very nice hotel, but better cleanliness would have made it five stars for me. The chandeliers in the bedrooms need to be cleaned. It looks like there are many years' worth of dust on them. Also found a hair that was not mine in the sink. Otherwise, a really nicely appointed place. I was not expecting the bidet and warmed toilet seats! Very luxe.

It's an awesome pet friendly property. It so hard to travel with an adult German Shepherd but we stayed there with no problems! I give the location 3 stars only because it St Louis- the hotel is close to the Arch and sports venues but it's still St Louis.

Wonderful service was awesome attendants. The layout was well thought out. The rooms were spacious and wonderfully arranged The location is good with lots of parking and handicapped access was easy to access A+++ to the people that organized this event

So the only reason I’m not giving this a 5 is the fact that if nothing is going on downtown this place is empty and you don’t feel safe around it. We attended a concert one night and that was perfect, easy walk to Busch stadium. The night after it wasn’t at all the same. For events downtown this place is great.

The building is amazing and the room is comfortable with a lot of space and uniqueness. Service from valet, front desk, and restaurant were great. Too bad the area needs heavy revitilization.

We've been traveling all over the country and had one of our best experiences at the Hotel Saint Louis. A beautiful, historic building with excellent hospitality within walking distance of many key St. Louis attractions, I will definitely be staying here again when I visit St. Louis in the future.

I don't ever write reviews for hotels, and I stay at a lot of them, but I had to write one for the Hotel Saint Louis. From the moment I walked in I was greeted by Brian at the counter. He was super nice, accommodating and full of joy. Walked into my room and WOW! I was upgraded to a beautiful king suite room. I literally felt special, and it was like I had my own apartment. The room was beautifully decorated, and the bathroom had a bidet! Boy was I pleasantly surprised. After settling in went down to the bar, and had pleasant conversation with ALL the staff, from the male and female bartender on staff (did not get their names, wish I did) to the food runners and waiters. Food and drinks were very good too. I must say this was such a special and well needed pampering for me as I have been traveling from 5:30 am that morning from Florida, and was in St. Louis all day field traveling for work. I had the best night sleep as the bed and pillows were heavenly. Oh and the robe in the closet is a must wear when catching up on emails early morning. I will be back again if I ever am in St. Louis again.

Stayed 3 nights for the Metallica concerts. Absolutely perfect balcony suite. Room was spotless and I really liked the furniture. Didn't make it to the pool but it stays open year round. Says seasonal on the website so I thought it would be closed. Room service was fast. The rooftop bar was really nice. 👌

Absolutely beautiful, so clean and just lovely. Everyone was so kind and went out of their way to make our experience the best. The room was stunning, the food was delicious and had the best birthday with my husband. Loved the record player in our room and the records. Had a tv in the bathroom mirror, which was neat. Luxury all the way. Just really a beautiful place can't wait to go back

Our room was very comfortable and generously sized. Location was convenient to walk to the nearby Gateway Arch and Blues museum. Drummond and all the team were so friendly and made us fell right at home - thank you for a lovely stay

As a special gift, I embarked on a road trip adventure from Atlanta to Nashville, then St. Louis, Missouri, and back to Nashville. Let me start by saying, I absolutely adore hotels! After hours of meticulous research, I found myself here, primarily because I have a soft spot for boutique hotels; they tend to offer a more intimate experience with keen attention to detail. Our journey kicked off at JW Hotel Nashville, and oh boy, what an incredible start! I was thoroughly impressed and absolutely loved it. But then, we arrived at Hotel Saint Louis, Autograph Collection, and I couldn't help but let out a sigh. The young man who checked us in, despite being very friendly, seemed a bit too comfortable and maybe a tad tipsy, but hey, no big deal. On a brighter note, the elevators were stunning, and I was genuinely excited about the architecture. So, we checked into the Junior Suite, and my anticipation was sky-high. However, I was taken aback, not by awe-inspiring luxury, but by the unmistakable scent of dust! The living room consisted of a sofa, TV, and a closet housing a mini-fridge. Unfortunately, the coffee table was not at its best, and the mini-fridge had seen cleaner days. As for the curtains, they needed a good wash. Stepping into the bedroom, I was greeted by wrinkled pillows that looked as if someone had just vacated the bed. There was even hair in the bed, and to top it off, a noticeable bloodstain on the comforter. The windows were dusty, and the bathroom, well, it had handprints all over the place. The shower floor, once white, was now covered in hair, and the shower faucets weren't exactly sparkling. Even the toilet seat, both on top and beneath, had seen better days, and don't get me started on the grungy towels. I can't recall a time when I paid for such discomfort in my life. I attempted to get some shut-eye, woke up determined to maintain a positive attitude, and headed to the hotel bar downstairs. There, I ordered some mimosas to enjoy in our room as we got ready for the day. Of course, I shared my concerns with the hotel staff, and they were genuinely apologetic and promised to rectify the situation. Fast forward to that evening when we returned to our room and, to my amusement, everything seemed eerily unchanged. Well, they did make the bed, but there were no fresh linens, and they did clean the toilet seat, but everything else remained exactly as we had left it before their "cleaning" session. Oh, and those champagne glasses from the morning? They hadn't budged an inch. Now, I should mention that I'm incredibly passionate about hospitality and customer service. I scrutinize every detail not to complain but to appreciate the experience. After all, this is where I choose to spend my hard-earned money. I honestly can't remember the last time I had to don flip-flops in the shower, and I resorted to air-drying because the towels were, well, horrendous. I couldn't find comfort, and I had to give the bathroom a once-over before using it. Two days of discomfort after shelling out my money — it was quite an experience! To top it off, the hotel staff maintained a somewhat frosty attitude for the rest of our stay, which, looking back, is kind of amusing. They seemed miffed at my insistence on what was promised. I mean, their website boldly claimed that they clean the rooms every day! Such lies, right? I had requested a late check-out but decided to leave early instead. I have no doubt that this place had great potential when it first opened, but it appears that pride in their work has faded. It's as if everyone is merely going through the motions, and the neglect is palpable. On the bright side, St. Louis itself was okay, and we did enjoy some fantastic food there! By the time we returned to Nashville and checked into a spotlessly clean hotel room at BOBBY's, we couldn't help but chuckle (just a little) about my regrettable decision to book at Hotel Saint Louis, Autograph Collection.

Beautiful building, fantastic vibe. Love the top floor pool and cocktail bar. Fantastic little touches in the room, from the balcony to the high ceiling to the selegant shower to the turntable and vinyl records by the bed. Staff were without exception friendly, accommodating, thoughtful, and looking for ways to go the extra mile. Bonvoy members: *Excellent* Platinum recognition, maybe the best we have enjoyed at any Marriott property.

Stayed here twice now and have absolutely LOVED the rooms! The decor is more something I’d have in my house and not what you normally see in a hotel. The best part? The heated toilet seat & bidet! The concierge lounge is kinda small but the appetizers provided were appreciated. The front desk staff was amazing and so welcoming ☺️. There’s public parking just across the street so not horrible. 10/10 will be looking forward to my next visit!

I would consider this one of my new favorite hotels and here is why. From the pictures you can tell it has some interesting features. The first one is a remote control bidet which is pretty cool if you aren't used to using one. Very cleansing. The second is for titanium Platinum ambassador members who have access to the older club. That is their lounge that offers 24/7 access with continental breakfast in the morning and light snacks in the evening. They provide you with beer and wine selections and his man during that time. The third reason is that the decor of the hotel is absolutely beautiful. They have a rooftop lounge on the 12th floor as well as a beautiful pool overlooking the sights of St louis. I strongly recommend when you come to St Louis to make this your number one selection

The beds are rock hard, and pillows are extra fluffy. But my 2 star review is for the noise. We stayed on the fifth floor and the parking garage across from the hotel sounds like a NASCAR pit stop ALL hours of the night. The walls are paper thin and every time someone closed their door in the hallway the entire whole room shook. Super loud!! The hotel is cool with an old school feel but I would never stay here again. Not worth the lack of sleep.

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay here. From the very first time walking through the door to our exit, Mr. Pila greeted us like we were old friends. Every staff member was accommodating and welcoming. We had slight issues with our neighboring room, but the front desk did everything they could to resolve the issue. They even gave us two free breakfast vouchers. The food and drinks were also really good. We can't wait to come back!

  • 4/5 Erica M. 2 years ago on Google
Really clean, nice bed and pillows! The parking garage across the street is very lit and I would say it's safe. The views from the rooms aren't great, but the rooms are pretty cool. The views are nice from the bar of course and the pool up there is pretty cool too.

  • 4/5 Jon L A. 1 year ago on Google
Our stay here was generally excellent. A big shout out to Mr. Pila out front for his kind, helpful demeanor. I expected a grand soaring lobby, but it's more intimate. The building has been beautifully restored. The rooms are excellent and decorated in modern Asian-influenced style. The bathroom was huge and awesome although the door didn't lock. Our view was of an abandoned historic building across the street, so not too much to look at out the window. The bed was a little soft for my taste, but was certainly acceptable. Entire hotel was super clean. I didn't really like the automated order-on-your-phone room service. I'd rather have a printed menu and a house phone. This hotel is convenient to all of downtown and to Busch Stadium.

To the owners: Don't lose Wyatt! The guy truly belongs in the hospitality industry. He took a few minutes and immediately elevated our stay from great to extra special. Everything was clean and ready for our arrival. No issues at all. Rooftop bar was very cool, but shockingly empty for a Saturday night. Wish we would've had a chance to check out the rooftop pool!

We loooooved staying here! From the front desk to the housekeeping service to the restaurant staff (including the chef) the folks were fabulous! Downtown could certainly use a revamp since the big "C" took it down, but the folks here were kind and helpful. Super convenient walking distance to the arch, the dome, the baseball stadium or the convention center...The hotel has a cool vibe and has a lot of the original architecture which makes it even neater! My daughter & I really enjoyed staying here! ☺️

Everything about this hotel is beautiful. Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay at the property and look forward to returning. Simply being constructively critical, the check-in staff went through the amenities exceptionally quickly. I wasn’t able to remember anything she told me. Also, while the check-in staff was delightful, she spoke so softly that I could barely hear her. When I asked for the easiest route to my room, she pointed at the elevators instead of Saying take the elevator to floor X and take an immediate left. I almost felt as if she didn’t know where my room was. Still, I give the check-in staff a B+. We went to the sky lounge and waited for 20 minutes before the bartender acknowledged us. The bar had about 25 or 30 people, and only one bartender who was tending to the bar and waiting tables. He had no assistance whatsoever. With the price of the cocktails, the hotel needs to staff appropriately. If there was a manager on duty that evening, he/she/they/them should have been helping the bartender take care of the guests. The bartender was excellent. The food and cocktails were delicious. I give this property an A- overall. The room and amenities are spectacular. You won’t be disappointed. The doorman and front desk manager are exceptionally pleasant and both a true joy to chat with.

We stayed here the night of our wedding and are so glad we did. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. We fell in love with the stained glass in the ceiling of the lobby and the original elevators from when the building was a bank. The room was gorgeous and the record player was the cherry on top! Loved listening to Miles Davis as we fell asleep. We can’t wait to go back, highly recommend!!! Thank you Hotel Saint Louis!

An excellent hidden gem in downtown St. Louis! We love our room and the beds. Nice large restroom with some unique creature comforts. I wish there was more life around the hotel downtown, but that's not the hotel's fault. Check-in took a bit more time as only one person was checking people in. However, we will be back!

What an excellent hotel. I love the autograph collection. I got upgraded to a suite and it was beautiful with a cantilever balcony premium coffee and a heated self cleaning toilet seat. The reception was great and breakfast was was made to order. Good job hotel St. Louis!

So I’m Here at the hotel now and it’s not what people have said it is. The hotel is in need of some major Touch ups because it’s looking really worn down. It literally is posing as luxury but it is not that at all. The most unpleasant factor in my Stay is the cleanliness. I came in to a dirty Shower a dirty living room and hair and particles in the bed. After several talks with the manager who has been nothing but kind to me, it still is not rectified and the same dirt And trash that was on the floor when I first got here is still there! On top Of That there is no microwave for you to warm up food in the entire hotel. Not at all what I was expecting and has made for a very unpleasant stay. This place is false advertisement. STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!

Valet is easy and welcoming. Hotel is beautiful. Checking in was a breeze. Every staff member was kind and professional. Our room was beautiful! High ceilings and plenty of space and a gorgeous shower and bedroom. Luxury feel for a great price!

Excellent service from the front desk. Restaurant and skybar were mediocre. I found much better food offerings/quality outside the hotel. Beautiful buildings surround the hotel; however, most are sadly vacant/abandoned. Private terrace for the room was nice, though there was not much to see with the current state of downtown.

This place is a gem in St. Louie! Really cool building, right in the middle of the city. Hotel staff are fantastic and the rooms are eclectic and a really good size. Bar on the rooftop is a great addition and they just really took care of us here. Highly Recommend
