This is an incredibly poorly managed store. It is filthy and disgusting, food is regularly spoiled and past the date on the shelf. Workers don't care about anything, because they don't have a reason to. Instacart just means somebody is in the inside customer's way in every aisle. I have watched multiple employees just walk off the job while shopping there. They did not enforce covid mask rules during the pandemic. They frequently run out of staples. It always smells like rotten meat in half of the store. The management should be humiliated. Every time I see them, they are just standing around patting themselves on the back, having meetings in the middle of the aisle getting in the customer's way. The last 3 loaves of bread I bought there had mold on them already when I got home. I could go on. I am basically forced to shop here... This is literally an area designated as a food desert. It's this or walmart. An absolute shame. There are people in this community who need jobs, who would do these jobs correctly. Probably for less than what the managers are getting paid to do nothing right now. It's bad capitalism and bad community. It's just wasteful and shameful.

Horrible customer service. Website says they do Western Union at 7, I went in at 7:15 and the guy behind the customer service counter didn't say a word and just walked into the back room behind the counter. I waited for a couple minutes, then one of the cashier's rudely says " they don't open until 8" I said the website says 7, and he again rudely with a tone just reiterated that they open at 8. I asked if there was someone there that could just do a money order for me, considering the only service I needed was one that opened at 7 according to the website. He says "we are able to do them at 7, but customer service doesn't open until 8" this makes absolutely no sense, and it's false advertising. If the website says 7, than anyone who walks in should be able to have it done at 7. I will never be back. Went down the road to Walmart, and got my money order in 2 minutes and was even told if I come in earlier than 7 they will go ahead and do it anyways anytime.

They are often out of stock of things and the selfcheckout service can be slow, still a solid store.

Historically I've had good service here. However, recently we pre-ordered from the deli for an event and arrived at the scheduled pickup time but they hadn't even started them. They asked we wait for an hour; however, we were on our way to the event and politely canceled our order.

I like the variety of food, but everything that I touch there is expired, sometimes even a year... Kroger in Herrin is smaller seems better organized and definitely more clean.

It never fails if you use the online grocery order something messed up. And when you call them about it the just say sorry and don't try to rectify it. The online ordering just isn't worth it.

Kroger usually has everything I need in stock. Kroger staff will work with you to make sure your shopping needs are met. I like using the Kroger app for the digital coupons. The employees actually make a real effort to help you with questions or help locate items. The grocery pickup is so convenient. You can also order groceries to be delivered within an hour.

I love the savings I get from downloading digital coupons! I also love the fresh seafood back in the meat department.

Stay away from the bakery. Right is a screenshot of the cake I ordered online. Left is what I actually received. It looks nothing like the photo. I did get the topper though, so that's a small plus I guess.

What's up with limitations on pickup items? I was going to place an order but your system wouldn't let me include bread & orange juice in my order; it said delivery only. That's pretty lame.

Kroger expects you to buy groceries and eat all them within three days. No matter what you buy from this store it’s already expired or about to be within that week, ridicouls!

All around great place to buy your food at the customer service is great all around as well they also sell Hot/Cold food to eat on the go or even on your lunch break the price is a lot better than other places that I have been to

The only store that carries Yuban coffee! 5 stars just for that!

Several times I have contacted Kroger about the cleanliness of the store and outdated products on the shelf. There was outdated lettuce from August 6th on August 10th leaking on the boxes of organic spinach. Other items were outdated. The store is dirty. Please get it together. This used to be such a nice store. Sad.

The people could be more friendly and the store could be a lot cleaner there's places you smell mold especially by the vegetables it also stinks over by the meat department

Clean store. Clean restroom. Excellent produce section. Staff in produce are always helpful and kind. Some bare store shelves that are out of a lot of things , but it could be a supply issue.

This store not bad , workers are nice , but the one in Carbondale is dirty , rude workers , not clean at all . They need new management . They are so so unclean . The store has bad produce , when I asked why was rudely told” we can’t check it all” in my opinion they have bad customer service but the Marion store is good don’t appreciate workers smoking right outside the door but I guess that’s the norm in this area unfortunately

I have shopped here for many years. Very satisfied except I wish they cut their own meat. They quit that practice several years ago. They had what I needed.

I love that it's clean and there are several money saving options offered.

Prices are high. But quality if goods is also high. Produce is as fresh as it gets. Floral dept has good , high quality , flowers and plants for sale.

The writing on the cake was done very poorly and we got no flowers on the cake like requested. Also, the cake has a dent in it.$35 for absolutely nothing like we asked!
