We tried the fried chicken wings, chicken tenders, and the fried mushrooms. The mushrooms were the best among the three, while the chicken tenders were also good. The food was not as good as our expectation, but the service was the best we’ve ever had in St. Louis. Tim was very attentive and kind, he really made us feel like eating in a family’s kitchen. I give 5 stars because of him.

I’m going to start with something positive to get it out of the way: the service was great, my waiter was nice, seemed like all the other staff were as well, and I got my food within like 7 minutes of ordering. Atmosphere was nice enough it’s a good looking place. I went here to eat though, and regret that. I got the half fried chicken meal, and they let me replace the sides for mashed potatoes and Mac+cheese at no extra cost, that was cool. The food was miserable though, I was so upset. The mashed potatoes were very clearly made from powder, the gravy was not homemade, and both were bland. The macaroni+cheese was made with shells and pepper Jack cheese and was also INCREDIBLY bland, not seasoned at all no salt or garlic or flavor in it at all! Fine though, best fried chicken in St Louis is their claim to fame, that’s why I’m here: it’s trash. I don’t think they marinate their chicken, I don’t believe the breading was fried either. The breading is thick, but not crispy, and even the fried skin of the chicken was bland (somehow??). Altogether I was just really disappointed, they may be the nicest location serving Fried chicken, but calling this the best fried chicken is an outright lie. I would not come back, and would not recommend

I was driving to get some Blues City Deli but I drove past the big sign on Hodak's saying "Voted Best Chicken in St. Louis" and that it was started in 1962. Did a quick check on Google and it had a ton of review so I had to check it out. Didn't really know what to get but I knew I had to get a chicken dish. I ended up ordering the Drumstick Dinner which had 4 Drumstick pieces with French Fries and Cole Slaw. The Chicken was breaded so well and tasted super good. The cole slaw was very vinegary, not my favorite but still solid. The fries were solid as well. I sat at the bar, the bartender was very nice and got me everything I needed. I also got a Queso Mac and Cheese to go, that was solid as well. Overall nice place to check out if you're in the St. Louis area!

Great place with good food! The service is top-notch. The food comes out, hot and freshly prepared. I had the breaded salmon, with three sides: sliced beets, potato salad, onion rings. It was all very good. The salmon was a little strong, taste in, but could’ve just been my pallet. I normally get the chicken. I just wanted to try something different.

Great restaurant with good, secure parking, great servers and an awesome atmosphere. I am from the Deep South and had never had the pleasure of toasted ravioli before this visit. Wow! I am hooked! The chicken is also amazing. We left with merchandise. 🙂

This fried chicken is worth it. Come hungry because you will get a huge plate of food! It's a cornmeal-based breading that has a different texture than I expected, but I actually really enjoyed it. The coleslaw was dang tasty, very tangy and a bit sweet. I only slightly regret stuffing myself a little too much.

Hodak’s was recommended by one of friends because I was craving chicken and it did not disappoint. The chicken is cooked fresh and the the breading is unique and delicious. If you are craving a good friend chicken this is the place to be. Additionally the portions are large and will definitely fill you up so come extra hungry.

Have been coming to this place since I was a little kid. Their fried chicken has always been good and still has the same taste till this day! The prices have definitely risen but you still get the same big portions. The service can be slow at times because it gets busy. We waited 20mins just to get a menu. Our server was nice but not very attentive. They have a bar you can sit at and bigger section in the back with more tables and booths. Plenty of parking, have their own free lot.

Here's the deal! The food was absolutely amazing. It was fresh it was hot and it tasted absolutely good. The waitress was fabulous. The decor was breathtaking. The atmosphere was breathing family. Here is the Fantastic thing you can step away from the table and go to the bar and have a beer on tap. No worries, it's nothing but a friendly atmosphere. The food was very appetizing to the eye and to the taste buds. The presentation of the food and how the food was presented was five star. So, if you want to have an awesome experience in dining you have to go to Hodak's. St. Louis Missouri.

Hodak's for me and my family is a gathering place. For this visit, my daughter who lives now in Tacoma, had a stop here at the top of her must do list. A big fan of St. Louisans for their fried chicken, the portions are large and delicious. Decoratively you are surrounded by chickens galore. They have multiple options for family seating.

Nice neighborhood place specializing in chicken. I had the frog legs and some shrimp with fries. The food tasted good. It was busy on Saturday early evening, but not overly busy.

Basic down home cooking. Good food at a good price. What makes this place stand out is the atmosphere, the clientele and the service. This place is familiar. It's comfortable. It's fun. I love how local it feels, like some of these people have been eating here for decades. Awesome vibe. This is not white linen tablecloths, this is beer and beef! Go there with the right expectations and you will be happy.

I was brought to experience Hodak's wings when I first moved to St. Louis 15yrs ago. I've yet to find better local wings than here. Always hot and fresh, huge portions and their sides are delicious.

Loved the decor & way it was set up. Pleasantly surprised. Thought as old as it is, they it would be run down. Not at all. Waitress was very nice & on it. Hard to find Waitresses as good as she was. Chicken-disappointed! Love me some fried chicken. Theirs was very bland. Very disappointed in batter. Not crunchy outside. Just plain ok taste. Slaw, to much vinegar taste for me. Will definitely go back. Will try something different.

It was good but WAY overpriced now. There's tons of really good fried chicken around the city for alot cheaper. Even the fancier restaurants are cheaper for chicken dinners! But it is the same Ole classic taste that we all liked when we were young growing up here so I do still give them that and the service is always outstanding.

I just don't know why I keep going back here. Very disappointing. The chicken wings are too big and tough and basically tasteless anymore. They used to at least soak the chicken in salt water to flavor the meat, but not anymore. The next day when heating up the wings in the air fryer they were not any better. The meat tasted old and the was still so tough. Not at all good for the prices anymore. The jack salmon shrunk and are so little anymore. Getting disappointed in these restaurants just not going the extra mile anymore while raising their prices all while complaining about tips. It is not the servers faults but spending good money for bad food is very disappointing.

This restaurant feels like stepping back in time to the restaurants my family frequented in the naughties. Love that about it. Their mozzarella sticks are batter fried which I wasn't expecting, but loved nonetheless. They also had a surprising amount of vegan fare! My partner didn't like the Nashville hot chicken sandwich much and neither did I, but I'm also not a fan of that style anyway. Neither of us could quite put our finger on what we didn't like, and I will say it's a decent bit different than others I've had.

I love the homey vibe and very friendly and welcoming staff. Ask for Mary. She's amazing. Neither of us ordered chicken, which I heard was our downfall. The cod was good but nothing special. Mashed potatoes were both instant and watery. Cole slaw was vinegar heavy. I just felt like I could have thrown most of this in my air fryer at home. But again, we didn't order chicken and that's what they're really known for! Added plus-off street parking.

The chicken inside was good and French fries were good; but the slaw was too sweet, and chicken crust didn't have any flavor and tuff. I'll try something different next time. Server was great.

Great chicken, quaint country environment, and excellent bar service. The pricing is awesome for both beer and food. The servings are monstrous! A 1/2 chicken meal usually leaves me two leftover meals which last well in the fridge and taste great. My buddies thoroughly enjoyed their chicken fried chicken, and I must say it looked excellent.

This is a St. Louis classic for fried chicken. They have won awards for their fried chicken. Would recommend checking them out if your in the mood for delicious fried chicken. They tend to get busy, so there might be a wait for a table. They are kid friendly and have kids sized meals. They have more than fried chicken, so if fried chicken isn’t your thing they have other delicious food.

I have been all over the St Louis City and County and even neighboring counties and states on a search for THEE complete chicken meal. This is the first time I have been here and I can say this IS it and a do not miss @$15 for half chicken dinner (I'd already eaten some chicken and fries before I remembered to take the pic)!!

Lenny makes the best drinks I've ever had! Worth a stop just for that. This would be a great place to visit during happy hour. Charlene (not sure if she works there or not) is fabulous! Had a great time. Food proportions are impressive.

Food was fantastic and the service was friendly and on point. Didn't get a picture but the fried mushrooms were the best I've ever had!

Celebrated the Birthday boy in the white shirt! Good times with friends. Hodaks has a great chopped steak, reminds me of York Steak House. Of course the chicken is always a must try.
