Wonderful hosts! Cozy beds! Individual bathrooms! Amazing breakfast! Loved our time by the fireplace. We stayed in the blue room and it was great for our needs and time, but next time I'd love to get the Dakota suite! It's so much more beautiful and big than the pictures show! The attic suite is so unique too! Really, all the rooms are so well put together, you won't be disappointed!

There are several great places to stay in the Sioux Falls area but if there's a room available at the Steever House, this should be your first choice. John is a fantastic host, friendly, knowledgeable, and a skilled cook. The property is a beautifully maintained, historic building situated on a small farm in rural South Dakota minutes away from everything you'd want to see and do in downtown Sioux Falls. The price for what you're getting is unbeatable, you WILL NOT find a better place to stay for the night or for multiple nights anywhere else in the area. We chose to stay here after seeing all the 5 star reviews and they were not wrong. We will be making the Steever House a part of our travel any time we're in the area.

We loved our stay at the Steever House. John is so nice and friendly..the perfect host! We highly recommend staying in the Dakota Room. It was so cozy and comfortable with a huge bathroom. Breakfast was amazing...one of the best we ever had at a B&B. My husband is not a big fan of bed and breakfasts so for him to say he would definitely stay here again is probably the best compliment we can give!

So lucky to find this gem of a B&B. Jon and Sara are wonderful hosts, with such warm hospitality and accommodations.They've restored this beautiful Victorian house on land their family has had since the 1800's. The pictures don't do justice to the charm and coziness of the estate. Delicious breakfast, friendly conversation, and a very reasonable price. 10/10 would recommend!

John and Sara were terrific hosts, as were the chickens!! The home was charming and bedrooms were cozy and comfortable. It was a great stop over on our way to the Badlands. We enjoyed exploring Sioux Falls.

If you're a romantic, if comfort is found in solitude, if looking out windows could be painted portraits, if a place can venture to a time honored past if peaceful can be shown in a living space I would be reminded by often visits to such a place as this.

We highly recommend the Steeverhouse! John was so very gracious and accommodating through a series of emails; I was trying to coordinate dates to find a time we could come with my husband's work and a sitter for our 4 oldest kids. We stayed two nights in the Blue Room and it was clean and so comfortable. We also had our 7 month old son with us. Breakfasts were delicious!! John and Sara are welcoming and down to earth. The history of the home is fascinating and, when we asked, John kindly told us all about the move and restoration of the house.

A Victorian style home on a farm...so fun! John and Sarah were excellent hosts. Very friendly and accommodating. The Dakota room we stayed in was beautiful. The breakfast was delicious...lemon pancakes sooo good!!!! We will for sure be coming back to this place.

What a charming home and couple!!! Every detail was considered when they redesigned the rooms of this historic farm house. The food was spectacular and the ambiance and ability to relax by the outdoor fireplace and have a good glass of wine made the trip complete! I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone staying in or passing through Sioux Falls.

The Steever House was great!! My wife and I stayed here for one night on our way to the Black Hills. We stayed in the Blue Room, which for us was perfect and we couldn’t have asked for more. My wife and I are vegan and weren’t expecting to have breakfast there, but when we told John that we were vegan he absolutely delivered!! He had a wonderful breakfast prepared for us and gave us great insights into South Dakota. Would 100% stay there again! Thank you again, John!

I stayed at Steever House with my family about a month ago as a stop on a road trip between Denver and St. Paul. The owners were kind and personable and went above and beyond when we had issues with our rental car (providing the exact battery we needed for the keyfob and jumping the battery - not that they should be expected to do that kind of thing). We were extremely grateful. The suites we stayed in were comfortable, and we had everything we needed. A friendly outside cat greeted us upon our arrival, and me and some guest children enjoyed feeding the chickens in the morning. Breakfast was delicious! I highly recommend this place for couples, families, or even a little relaxing get-away for one.

John is the best host. He was so accommodating and friendly. We really enjoyed our visit with him.

Wonderful experience for our 33rd anniversary. Great hosts. Excellent dinner recommendations. Remote location yet quick drive into Sioux Falls. We stayed in the Dakota Room and enjoyed the fireplace for relaxing hours reading watching snow fall.

Stayed with these guys three night for a local family event. Great overall experience! Wonderful friendly host, excellent breakfast, very comfortable room and bed in the king suite, and met some charming guest. Highly recommend this BandB! Thanks John for a very nice stay. This Alabama couple could not have ask for a better South Dakota experience.
