This
review
got
long
so
TL/DL:
this
place
is
amazing
and
both
the
instructors
and
students
are
great
training
partners
and
great
people.
I
live/train/teach
in
Taiwan,
but
I'm
back
in
town
visiting
family
once
a
year.
From
the
first
time
I
messaged
Joe,
I
could
tell
this
would
be
an
awesome
place
to
train.
Lucky
enough
to
have
been
here
several
times
last
year
and
this
year
and
here
are
some
of
my
favorite
things
about
their
BJJ
program.
First
of
all,
the
environment
here
is
absolutely
the
friendliest
I've
ever
seen
at
a
BJJ
school,
and
that's
saying
something
as
most
are
very
friendly
places
to
begin
with.
I
was
treated
like
an
old
friend
by
everyone,
from
Joe
and
T
(the
Black
Belt
instructors),
to
all
of
the
other
students.
I
look
forward
to
meeting
new
people
here
every
time
I
head
in,
and
always
leave
feeling
like
it's
a
really
special
place
to
train.
Second,
the
instruction.
Joe
takes
time
to
explain
not
only
the
techniques
he
teaches
(which
have
all
been
both
incredibly
useful,
but
also
simple
enough
even
for
me
to
understand
haha),
but
also
the
broader
philosophies
behind
both
the
techniques,
and
the
positions
from
which
they're
applied.
This
means
that
students
are
not
simply
learning
a
single
technique,
but
also
getting
more
comfortable
and
familiar
with
many
different
positions
that
they'll
encounter
while
rolling.
Third,
the
other
students.
I've
already
mentioned
that
they
are
all
incredibly
friendly
and
welcoming,
but
in
addition
to
that,
they're
incredibly
tough
and
fun
to
roll
with.
No
easy
outs
at
this
school;
everyone
has
incredibly
solid
fundamentals
and
there
are
a
lot
of
really
advanced
players
here
both
in
gi
and
no-gi
classes.
However,
everyone
still
keeps
safety
in
mind.
As
a
visitor,
it's
important
to
keep
myself
protected
while
in
the
land
of
unaffordable
health
care,
so
I
always
try
to
tap
early
etc,
but
I
haven't
seen
anyone
be
overly
aggressive
while
going
for
a
submission,
and
any
time
people
are
in
leg
entanglements,
we
all
keep
our
partners'
safety
as
our
top
priority.
Lastly,
there
is
a
HUGE
mat
space
available.
Tons
of
people
show
up
to
evening
classes
but
there's
plenty
of
room
for
all
of
us
to
roll
without
constantly
worrying
about
someone
falling
on
you
or
anything
like
that.
Can't
recommend
this
place
enough,
and
I
consider
myself
lucky
to
have
it
nearby
when
I'm
visiting
NY!
