I just stayed here just one night, but I inform situation I saw. 1. Lights in corridors in the dormitory didn’t work. Staffs didn’t prepare it after I arrived. That’s why I had to wait outside until someone fixed it at around 10pm…. It was incidents after I arrived at this accommodation at 6pm. Additionally, a member of the staff didn’t explain the details so I go and come back from the dormitory and the reception again and again, because it didn’t work lights… 2. Toilets in the dormitory didn’t flushed. And the toilets looked it has been a while since someone checked, because it has already bowl movement inside the toilet…. 3. Most light in the bathroom had broken. That’s why I couldn’t take a shower. When I told a lot of out of orders, two receptionists looked like they didn’t notice them completely. It means they didn’t check and clean for a while….so 4.I gave up to use facilities and tell receptionists anymore, because I was exhausted about these awful experiences after I arrived. 5. Unfortunately, Sky restaurant wasn’t good as well , because they didn’t have most menus. A waiter came and asked me a lot before I choose. Finally he suggested me to use Google without asking him. That was rude. It because a complaint… Even though they have a lot of contents on the menu in the restaurant, a waiter said “We don’t have it.”many times. So I asked him”Which one do you have?”. He told me “okay, what do you want to eat?” Ha? I got tiredness from his attitude more. Finally I ordered salad R100. It looked good, but it wasn’t a value of money. Finally I bought snacks and chocolates a lot because I was hungry and exhausted. And I felt stressed these situations.Although I was looking forward to coming here, I don’t want to stay here anymore… 6. They sell T-shirts but don’t have sizes. Even though I contacted them about T-shirts,which they sell here, by email in advance, they didn’t explain the facts to me on the email. They should notice they should work neatly more. I was disappointed toooo much… They must organize, know and improve their operations. Although a lady who works at reception cared me bringing a heater to my dormitory, I don’t want to stay here anymore. Sorry that, but it wasn’t a value of money too much…even though this accommodation has a name” mountain Resort “…..

We visited the Afriski resort last year and we had a terrible experience. The management team contacted us and gave us a complimentary stay in July of this year. This time around we had an amazing experience friendly staff and great facilities. The issues we experienced last time was no where to be seen. The rooms were exceptional and clean. This time around the restaurant was top tier we enjoyed every meal we had and would recommend them to the fullest if you ever desire to stay at the resort. We definitely plan on returning for another ski trip in the near future.

Stayed for 3 nights at Afriski for the Wine, Gin & Jazz Fest. I don’t recommend visiting Afriski during one of their advertised festivals because of the serious disorganization. Originally made our reservation over the phone and then learned that it hadn’t gone through so I had to reserve again via the website since the customer email address doesn’t respond to emails in a timely manner. Paid R400 for a ticket to the festival and got very little for that money. They had a Woolworths tent with small glasses of wine but they seemed totally unprepared for the amount of people that had purchased a ticket. At the Sky Restaurant bar we had 3 shots of various gins but the only way we found out about this was via word of mouth because it wasn’t in the designated festival area. Wasn’t necessary at all to buy a ticket. For our first night we got upgraded to one of the nice newly built condos because they double booked us in our original accommodation. It was great except that it was freezing cold inside with one small gas fireplace in the sitting room. There wasn’t dishwashing soap or soap for the washing machine so be sure to bring your own. Utensils, plates, and cooking ware were available. For our second and third nights we were at the backpackers. Make sure to pre-pay for bedding and towels because it’s literally just a mattress with a fitted sheet. There is no soap in the bathrooms and no rubbish bins anywhere so you need to dispose of rubbish outside. The hot water in the showers did not work until the morning that we checked out. The staff said they had to change the gas tanks and that it takes “a few days” for the hot water to return after the change. Food was great at the cafe and restaurant, just expect long waits on the weekends. The experience got much better once the big crowds from the festival went away. If it’s not necessary for you to sleep at Afriski, I recommend staying 15 minutes away at Oxbow Lodge. They are a lot more organized and customer-oriented. The skiing and snowboarding were a lot of fun and they make getting your gear and storing it overnight simple. Hope to return for more winter sports next year!

It was a good experience having to play with snow and snowboarding. R100 entrance fee for the vehicle if you are a day visitor. R1200 for snowboarding or ski equipment for beginners. Be prepared to lose your money in case you don’t figure it out. There is an option for bum boarding for R250 I believe for those that are not up for learning a new skill. It’s harder than ice skating. If you’re not staying there be prepared for a long drive with a LOT of curves

Wow this place is super far. Everyone is very friendly and they direct you every step of the way. I would suggest that you get there before 10am, if you're a day visitor. Activities are expensive with an instructor and they all happen at the same time. So it's better to catch different slots throughout the day with a day pass. It's a beautiful resort, extremely clean and vibey. The restaurant is beautiful and warm but the food takes forever. So be wary if you're in a hurry. Otherwise it's worth the wait.

Stunning Resort, the skiing and all other activities are amazing and an absolute must try. The rooms are comfortable with a lot of heating to ensure a comfortable stay, and there is a lovely restaurant, Sky, where you can enjoy a lovely meal in between all the fun activities. Resort staff is friendly and helpful. Fun activities for the little ones as well, which is great. Cellphone signal here is non existent and maybe more WiFi connectivity around the resort would make a big difference. This is the only reason I did not give 5 stars. Overall a pleasant experience and I would recommend that you give it a try.

Quite an amazing place in the middle of nowhere. Unfortunately there was no snow, even though every day should be a snow day between June and August according to the signage. We decided to stop over for lunch and the staff was at first hesitant to let us in, and then demanding a R100pp entrance fee - even though there were hardly any other people in the resort. This was subsequently changed to a R50pp deposit, which could be used as a credit in the restaurant. The food is ok, but the setting naturally quite amazing.
