Went for lunch (buffet) with my friend specially from Sheffield and we ended up with a good variety of dishes in sweet, curry and rice for just a nominal price. Loved the food and the staff is very polite. Totally recommend for buffet as they have a separate menu so you can enjoy some other dishes.

We ordered chole bhature as well forgot to take pictures but overall food was tasty, I gave service less rating because we ordered some chips as well and they forgot to give. Overall rating is good

I recently visited this restaurant and had a mixed experience. The food quality didn't meet my expectations; it wasn't up to par. A lovely vegetarian restaurant lots of variety and choices for all.

Not overly impressed at all with the quality of the mithaai from here. Had it much MUCH better from other places are far lower prices. Felt it to be sub-standard quality and did not taste fresh even though I asked is this all fresh. Customer service was excellent and the place itself it very clean and nicely lit. Quite frankly would not try this place again for mithaai.

Can't really comment on the food, I was visiting Leicester and thought I'd try some food. This place had a fair rating and looked pretty quite. I popped in and eventually asked for a "table for one", the guy looked around (at many empty tables) looked down his nose at me and said "we're fully booked". I left and went elsewhere to eat, after I walked past to collect my car there was still empty seats. I certainly would not have been turned away in such away in Bristol.

We did not dine in; just to take away sweet and savoury dishes. Located on Belgrave Road, the nearest parking is golden mile car park off MacDonald Road. They have an excellent selection of authentic Indian sweet and savoury dishes, which we rate highly. There is also a restaurant upstairs, which we haven't been to. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed the dishes.

My wife had fond memories of coming here as a child. We were on a longer journey and needed a place to eat. She chose this. We were not disappointed. Thoughtful and attentive service. Delicious food – my wife swooned over how good her bhathura was. Great level of cleanliness. We felt well-cared for even though there was a large group enjoy the buffet at the same time. A delight.

Ordered dahi puri, noodles, and had a buffet. Everything was served after 30 mins wait. Dahi puri was worst, soggy and not really sweet and tangy as you want a chat to be. Despite of instructions that noodles should be served medium spicy, they were still extreme spicy and served probably after an hours wait time. Not even near to authentic taste.

Visited Sharmilee based on local recommendations and surely wasn't disappointed. We had the vegetarian buffet (diwali special as per advertise). Good spread with dahi vada (starter) with variety of salads, puris , 4 curries (including dal), kadhi, rice and 3 sweets (jelabi, gulab jamun and mango pulp/amrakand). The food was tasty and filling! Slightly disappointed with the paneer masala dosa which my son was very eager for (the dosa wasn't Crispy and felt too much potato curry with some grated paneer) But to say 5/5 for the buffet (taste and very much worth the cost)! Friendly staff and kids friendly place... Thank you!!!

I have been going to Sharmilee for decades and I'm so glad it is still going, and still as good as ever. Today we tried the lunchtime buffet as we didn't have a lot of time and couldn't wait for individual dishes to be prepared to order. It was very reasonably priced, good food, freshly made. It's very popular and I'm not surprised.

Tried Kachori with chutneys. We bought & ate next day. It was as crispy as we bought it. Excellent! Perfectly authentic in taste. Mind blowing. Must try. If you are fond of the same Indian Dal Kachori, this is the place. Do try.

Sharmilee has become our favourite place in Melton Road for our weekend family meals. We usually opt for the buffet which has great options. The food is always fresh. You can really tell that a lot of care has been taken with each dish. Staff friendly and welcoming.

We went in for buffet food was Testy and fresh I thought big poster in window was misleading. Advertised at 'ftom' 7.95 but no where it says actual price for weekend. Which is 10.95. Staff are good. They could be bit more transparent. Hence 3 star.

Poor food, poor service. Dishes were not crafted but thrown together. Hot but bland.. Having tried Bobby's and Chai Paani which are withing a few metres of this restaurant, it is a very poor relative. Can see why there are no queues...

Great food and great service. There's a big variety of North Indian starters and main courses and a smaller South Indian selection. The portions are generous and flavoursome and the prices are good too. Recommend the Paneer Karai (rich thick spicy sauce with peppers and onions) and Paneer Shashlik (loads of garlic and ginger in a spicy dry sauce), definitely get a freshly made bhatura or two as well to go with. The fresh passion fruit juice was a unique option too, sweet, sour and slightly salty. The toilet facilities are a little tired and old but not dirty. Would return again for certain.

Amazing food, great variety. The only downfall was the over fermented idli mix however they were very kind about replacing the items if we wanted they gave me a free shrikhand and some amazing customer service in regards to my niece and nephews allergies. Definitely going back again, for buffet or even à la cart! 👍🏽

One of the best customer service I ever had. I ordered some sweets and savoury to be posted to my sister. However whatever reason it got delivered to wrong address. I contacted them and had so many calls asking to find out if the parcel can be collected from where it was delivered. As it was opposite side of the road, which we did not mind. However we no luck, Sharmilee called again and sent the order again without any charge. They kept following up till it was delivered. Keep the good work. Upendra

Visited on 24/08/22. The food was outstanding! Despite most of our diners going for the lunchtime buffet option, it was clear from the taste that no corners had been cut while preparing much larger portions. The buffet selection was vast, four different curries, two types of dhal, two types of rice and various sundries which you would expect with an Indian meal. My only observation is that some items were not replenished as quickly as one would hope. However, it would be fair to say that due to the excellent food, Sharmilee was exceptionally busy. I've been visiting the restaurant for years and would highly recommend Sharmille for their excellent vegetarian cuisine.

Came for the diwali mithais as i do every year... Good mixture of different sorts all tasting incredible, the kaju katri in particular was my favorite.... Really busy this time of year but fantastic friendly staff and food you know you will enjoy that waiting isn't a problem at all! If your looking for mithai recommendations, then the kaju katri is your best bet, You won't b disappointed!!

What fantastic service! Went to the shop with my cousins from Bradford, the guy behind the counter was so helpful and gave us so many things to taste and try before buying. Cousins came away so happy and will be ordering from the website for deliveries to go Bradford. Great service with a smile 😃

I have recently moved to the UK. In search of a good Indian food I reached Sharmilee restaurant. I preferred buffet as I was starving. The food was awesome. The variety of items in the buffet was wholesome, right from started to main course to desserts. Since then it has been my go to place when I crave for Indian flavours. People working in the restaurant are also very polite and respectful. Thank you!

Buffet Meal with family , majority of the food was cold, so did not enjoy eating cold food, we had to keep waiting for refills , selection was not great for a buffet , chana dish was watery n lacked flavour n Patra dish not a fan , no dessert that I could see apart from jalebi and mango pulp not a dessert to me , won’t rush to go again

Great food. Excellent service. All items ordered were delicious in taste and good sized portions. The buffet was outstanding and everything was made fresh. The service and management was really good. My entire family enjoyed the experience and would return back many times without hesitation.

Very helpful staff, food is very tasty. We have been to Sharmilee over 30 years and quality is still good. Upstairs restaurant is a lot better now. I forgot my wallet and they went through trouble of accepting PayPal. Take away food is always fresh. We love kachori.

Wonderful food that's very tasty and well priced. The buffet option is good, with limited variety but it's regularly topped up. The snacks and takeaways are the best in the best around and excellent value. Staff are friendly, however service is quite slow at times. Parking is walking distance as the restaurant is on the highstreet, and the seating area is upstairs, so caution to people with mobility issues. 100% recommended!

Restaurant is at the upper floor. At first appearance our opinion were not really great as it was not like other posh style desi food place but I must say “food is not to miss kind of tasty and neat” and varieties of food selection including Thali, buffet, mains and snacks are just commendable. Staff are sweet smiling and A+++ services. One of the posters inside is quite eye catching as it warns you of paying extra for food waste if left over, I guess it should be appreciated so I’ve clicked the photo and sharing with my feedback. Toilets are neat too.

Best Indian restaurant in leicester

Service was good however the chilli garlic mushrooms and crispy aubergine were not to my taste, too tangy and overpowering sauce, could not tell the difference between the two dishes. No taste of chilli mushrooms or crispy aubergine was just sauce. Other Indian sabjis were alright. Bhatura was good.

Over fried samosas :( my guests picked up on it very dark wasn't impressed as I ordered 20. The rest was fine.

Giving two stars as their food is amazing but there's just no regards to customers safety. Unfortunately due to the current situation I can see that they do not really care about social distancing amongst customers and they also work behind the counter with close proximity. Only one out of three sellers has the mask properly on. One has constantly uncovered nose which completely defies its purpose and one of them simply doesn't care. Guys, the mask you wear shows respect and care for the safety of the others, very often elder customers. At least install the protective screen on the counter. Sorry to say but I don't intend to go back there until after the pandemic due to those issues. I care for my family much more than for their amazing dokra.

We regularly have a selection of lunch buffet food at work and it’s always delicious and always gets eaten. The samosas are good quality and not overfilled with potatoes as is sometimes the case in other places. This time we also had mushroom rice, chilli paneer and a bhel mix with various chutneys. All delicious.

Amazing..

This restaurant has to be one of the worst places to step foot in Leicester. If for any unknown reason you’re under the delusional thought that they serve up any form of decent food or service then you’ve been living a very sheltered life and have little or no experience of real Indian cuisine. During the Covid lockdown we order four “special” thali’s from them and they forgot to pack half the ingredients of the order. Highly annoying when you make an 18 mile round trip to pick up the food. The food looked very abnormal and unnaturally red in colour. Furthermore we spent almost 15 minutes on the phone ordering our food and when we got to the counter they wanted to know what we ordered after we gave them the name the order was under. They are not only incompetent in dealing with customers but I can guarantee you the food is made on a mass scale and just preheated time and time again, day after day. My feedback is simple, avoid at all cost.

I love this place. We have eaten the all you can eat buffet on a number of occasions and never been disappointed. The food is outstanding. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The sweets and savouries are amazing. Highly recommended.
