Right in the center of the town, there is the perfect park for spending time on a sunny day. It is especially nice to come here with children and babies. Dozens of mothers with baby strollers in the place will testify to this. On the day we were there, there were several classes of school children. When we arrived they sat and listened to the teachers. Towards noon, they took off their uniforms and entered the shallow pool in bathing suits. At the entrance to the garden, you can see some old photos of the place are displayed, as well as of the children in bathing suits from the 40's and 50's having fun in the pool. The garden is dedicated to one of the founding fathers of the town. You can read about it at the entrance to the garden. When I was in the park I felt how the green color enveloped me from all sides. The trees are huge and shade part of the park. There is a playground for children. With a climbing device made of ropes. Swings of different types and more. My grandchildren had a great time. By the pool there is a kiosk in a beautiful architectural structure. Back in the 40's, they spent time thinking about the small details, that the structure would look beautiful and not just be functional. The place also has toilets.

We spent a lovely hour here today. My granddaughter loved the water which was warmed by the sun. A great place for a picnic, decent toilets a few metres away. Car park was approximately a Β£ an hour. A surprising amount of police patrols in the area , some were community police. All very relaxed, maybe it’s a meeting point. Only gripe was the price of the ice cream from the van which I think was called Steve’s. I ordered two knickerbocker glory ice creams at Β£5 each ( genuinely thinking we were in for a treat ) Photo shows you what I got. Two small plastic cups with a bit of sauce and a tiny flake which has been split to make two. Quite disgusting really. I’ll definitely be back to the park but I’ll give the van a miss. His photo isn’t representative of the item you receive.

The toilets are never the best, but there's food and drink available to keep you full, plenty of places to park your picnic blanket and soak up the weather. Splash park is perfect to keep your little ones entertained too!

Great splash park, big enough for lots of kids. Fountains at 1 end and small jets throughout. Just what you want on a hot summers day.. Small playgrounds and toilets near the cafe.

Awesome day at the park with the kids...It has a wide range of activities in the play area and the splash park is an absolute hit with the kids. It also has ample parking and seating space for everyone to relax, lay down their mats and enjoy a picnic. There restrooms are not too bad and are adequate.

I think this is the best free park in a 50 mile radius. The splash area is huge, the mature trees provide plenty of shade, the playground is well equipped, the toilets are free, and the kiosk is well stocked with incredibly helpful and friendly staff. Even out of season the splash area is fun for small bikes and scooters.

Fantastic splash park. Plenty to keep children amused all day. Friendly efficient staff in the kiosk that serves drinks snacks and ice cream. We travel from new barnet as best one we have been too. Feels safe too

Lovely little park. Ideal for kids up to about 10 years old. The water features wouldn't keep kids occupied for a day, but great for a couple of hours in hot weather.

Great place to go if you want kids entertained! Splash park, playground, quite a big open space... there's usually a little drink/snack open too and most importantly there are free toilets. Bare in mind that splash park gets pretty rammed on a sunny day though (which is expected)!

Lovely little park right next to town, well maintained, lit, good paths, children's park, splash pool, bowling green. Can be a bit of a teenage hangout around dusk but otherwise hard to fault. Not ideal for unreliable dogs as it's small and a road is never far away and access is ungated

Fantastic park.realy clean and tidy. There are plenty of toilets but could do with another disabled toilet as people use it to get changed, so it makes it a long wait to use. There are plenty of seats and benches. The splash areas were very clean and a good nonslip surface to prevent slips. There is a little ice cream kiosk selling drinks as well as ice creams. When we visited, there was also an ice cream van on sight. There are plenty of trees to provide shade.i would recommend taking a pick nick for a free day out.

Really good park for the kids, as well as being close to the town centre etc.

Cute place with Playground and Splash park. Didn't see toilets. Little shop was closed even though it was busy & a hot day! Paid Parking available. Free fun for kids. Clean & tidy.

Great Park with a lovely water feature for the kids to splash in. Some nice sheltered park benches. A kids playground with some unusual rides. Great place for a picnic and to watch people go by.

Playground area is fairly bog standard, can't really go wrong. Has large field and a good amount of trees around the edges, all of which are expected of parks lmao. The main attraction is the water fountain areas which are active during late spring and throughout summer, gives off an almost swimming pool type vibe and obvs a great way to cool off during those heatwaves.

Such a fantastic local amenity. Superb for kids for a quick splash on a trip to or from town or the perfect place on a sunny day for a full days fun in the fountains. So lucky to have this on the doorstep.

Safe, fun and free! Lots for all ages to do plus a kiosk selling ice creams and tea/coffee. Toilets and changing facilities plus onsite parking (takes change only, up to Β£10 should cover it for the day) large grassy area beside the water splash area so take picnic/blankets/chairs.

Howard Park and the Letchworth Bowls Club Green looking good on a frosty morning. Nice area for walking running and watching the world go by.

We got to the park fairly late afternoon on our first visit, so it wasn't quite looking its best. Also, the whole splash pool is not open yet so a lot of people were bundled down the play area end. All emptied out S it got later...! Small car park located nearby, and not far at all from town centre.

Such a gem of a place for families especially while it's hot! Park under trees so keeps cooler and the splash park is large enough to spread out and around it to have a picnic and keep watch. A little coffee shop and toilets are there too and not far from shops. Good parking close and its free on Sundays.

Great place for kids of all ages, especially if you're on a budget and want some outdoor fun. There's the splash park which keeps kiddies running about for ages and a park play area to challenge all ages, sand, toilets and a cafe which sells snacks, ice cream and drinks. If driving there is a pay and display car park right next to the park. Howard Park is next to the town, so you can walk within minutes to buy lunch or take a picnic. There's a grass area to kick a ball about or sunbathe. There's also bench seating and picnic tables.

Recently given a bit of a makeover with some new equipment this is a lovely open park with toilets, ice cream and coffee kiosk, water splash fountain. Great for scooters and bikes from autumn to spring and splashing in the summer when the fountains are on. Very popular spot.
