I
was
treated
to
a
night's
stay
here
with
my
family
as
a
birthday
celebration.
Overall,
it
was
absolutely
wonderful.
Arriving
at
the
manor
you
almost
wonder
if
the
satnav
is
taking
you
in
the
wrong
direction
but
suddenly
you
are
on
a
sweeping
driveway
heading
for
the
gorgeous
manor
house.
Parking
is
a
short
walk
from
the
main
reception,
but
you
can
pull
up
to
the
front
and
drop
luggage
before
parking
if
you
have
lots.
The
frontage
is
absolutely
stunning.
Lush
lawns
and
tall
trees
surround
the
bricked
and
gravelled
entrance
which
itself
features
a
gentle
water
feature
surrounded
by
lavender
and
other
plants.
Check-in
at
the
reception
desk,
around
10.30am,
was
easy
and
I
felt
welcomed
warmly.
I
was
able
to
leave
my
travel
bag
next
to
reception
so
I
could
get
straight
into
the
spa
facilities
with
my
sisters
and
was
given
a
quick
tour
of
the
facilities,
which
are
quite
sprawling
and
impressive.
Afternoon
tea
was
lovely.
However
one
slight
oddness
-
we
were
not
offered
tea!
There
was
an
issue
with
my
sister's
afternoon
tea
and
we
were
offered
complimentary
prosecco
to
make
up
for
it,
so
at
that
point
we
decided
not
to
ask
for
tea
as
well
as
we
felt
we
had
been
very
well
looked
after,
and
we
were
having
afternoon
tea
quite
early.
After
afternoon
tea
I
headed
for
the
pool!
The
changing
areas
are
spacious
and
clean,
and
the
pool
area
is
beautiful,
with
lots
of
natural
light
and
plenty
of
space.
Unfortunately
lots
of
the
lovely
looking
"pods"
were
covered
in
towels,
although
very
few
people
seemed
to
be
in
the
pool
or
hydrotherapy
areas,
so
it
wasn't
easy
to
find
a
comfortable
space
to
"just
be"
in
the
area.
The
pool
was
lovely
and
warm
and
I
enjoyed
the
jacuzzi
that
is
attached.
After
this
I
explored
the
Hideaway
-
an
upstairs
room
with
heated
water
beds.
This
really
is
hidden
away
on
a
level
with
bedrooms,
but
is
absolutely
worth
a
visit
if
you
can
grab
a
bed.
I
went
on
to
the
treatment
area
for
the
treatment
my
sister
had
booked
for
me
as
a
birthday
gift.
The
therapist
was
lovely,
the
treatment
was
a
Champneys
Body
Ritual.
Absolute.
Heaven.
I
felt
completely
pampered.
My
room
was
a
superior
room
right
by
the
studio
and
shop,
and
facing
directly
onto
the
weir,
with
double
doors
opening
out
onto
a
small
patio
with
rattan
chairs
and
a
small
table.
The
view
is
unbelievable.
I
could
watch
and
listen
to
that
weir
all
day.
I
wandered
out
of
the
patio
doors
and
saw
some
lovely
looking
long
beanbags
by
the
stream
off
the
weir,
but
sadly
they
were
really
wet
through.
My
room
was
spotlessly
clean
with
a
large
double
bed
and
all
the
expected
amenities.
The
bed
and
pillows
were
really
comfy,
and
while
there
was
a
TV
I
didn't
even
turn
it
on!
The
bathroom
was
fine,
but
given
the
price
of
these
rooms
and
the
nature
of
the
location,
I
expected
more
-
it
was
all
a
bit
tired
looking
with
chips
in
the
tiles
on
the
floor
and
walls.
Next
came
dinner,
and
this
was
really
amazing.
Included
in
the
price
is
a
three
course
meal,
although
there
is
a
supplement
for
some
items
(scallops,
steak,
cheese
platter
for
instance).
A
warning
-
wine
is
not
cheap,
at
a
minimum
of
around
£39
a
bottle.
I
have
to
admit
I
skipped
breakfast
as
I
didn't
feel
hungry
and
didn't
want
to
get
out
of
my
lovely,
snuggly
bed.
I
did
venture
out
to
the
garden
beyond
the
conservatory
briefly
but
rapidly
got
too
cold,
despite
the
beautiful
sun"
Overall
-
heavenly.
For
the
most
part,
a
true
place
of
rest
and
recuperation.
I
loved
the
overall
ambience.
The
grounds
are
stunning,
as
is
the
main
building,
and
the
staff
we
encountered
were
always
charming
and
helpful.
There
are
a
few
points
which
are
intended
as
constructive
criticism
only
-
regarding
the
quality
of
the
bathrooms
in
the
"hotel"
rooms,
the
"bagging
pods"
culture
around
the
swimming
pool
and
perhaps
considering
covering
or
bringing
in
the
beanbags
by
the
river
overnight
so
that
they
are
usable
in
all
weather.
But
these
are
really
quite
small
things
-
I
had
a
really
wonderful,
restful
stay
and
very
much
look
forward
to
coming
back
someday
soon.
