What a lovely place to have dinner in Baldock! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, all the servers and managers were all in a good mood which made us very excited to experience the food here. The tira misu martini was exceptional. The goat cheese starter was deli but too small for sharing. The gnocchi was tasty too, it’s sure to say everything you’ll have here will be delicious and of high quality! The one note we would have is that it was sometimes hard to get the attention of our server but they were gracious with us when they were with us. I’d love to return soon :)

A treat for our anniversary. We had a very pleasant welcome by a charming waitress and taken to our table. The chef/patron came out to chat which was lovely. The food was delicious. We chose a sharing starter - camembert & toasted bread.... 😋 then we had loin of pork and roast breast of duck - both dishes were nicely presented and delicious. We ended with sticky toffee pudding & ice cream which was so good. Definitely recommend 8 which is for that special occasion 5 star service and food 😀

Have been coming here for drinks and nibbles for a while and would always recommend. Finally made it for a proper meal and we were all completely satisfied. Everything we ate was great! The staff are friendly and helpful. We sat and had a lovely unrushed meal with really good food much of which is locally sourced produce. I personally had the soft shell crab which I think I’ll be back for after pay day. It was deep fried and dressed with a tasty mayo and Chili. I also had a pork chop with amazing crackin and the beans with it made for a mouth watering combination. The meat was tender and juicy making for an amazing texture and taste combo. For pudding the panacotta was packed with complex flavour and beautifully balanced by the rhubarb which added a lovely bite and acidity to the dish. Such a lovely summer evening out and I can’t wait to go back.

Booked for our Anniversary. So so glad I did! Great atmosphere,fantastic staff, amazing food. Every dish was perfect. I had beef fillet. One of the best I've ever had. I really like the fact you do scrimp on staff! Did not have to wait for anything. All so well run. Big shout out to the new lad that was serving us. Very polite young man. We were told from the start that he was training. He was a little nervous, but we were very impressed with him. He will be an asset to a fabulous restaurant. Can't wait for the next visit x

Food was great - had the cambembert and the gnocchi and both were really good! Loved the restaurant layout and decor, felt very welcoming and warm. Service was excellent - fast, attentive, and friendly. Only reasons it's not all 5 stars is was it was a touch too noisy which can be quite overwhelming but guess it's a good sign that it's busy! They also gave my mum ice cream on the house as it was here birthday. Would eat here again :)

Really enjoyed the first ‘soft launch’ night. Had the delicious steak 'as Chef recommends' rare to medium… really tasty and delici8us attention to detail in the sauce and extras. It’s a relief to see the menu is not overloaded, but instead offers a well-considered selection. Gone several times since and love the atmosphere and cosy ambience. Lovely to have a new restaurant in Baldock like this one.

Baldock is very lucky to have such a gem of a restaurant. Went to celebrate a family birthday and was absolutely blown away by the food, the service and the convivial atmosphere. Eight is punching well above its weight at this price, after a week of dining out this was by far and away the best meal I had, stacking up against some prestigious competition with names attached. Big shout out to the staff who were amazing from start to finish, we will be back for many more visits.
