Very nice hotel. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Always polite and happy. There was a limit on my debit card for daily spending, and they allowed me to pay off the bill over numerous days in smaller increments. Also very good prices for their rooms, and good options for beds depending on how many people are sharing a room or families with children. I stayed in the King Room, twice. Bed is much more comfortable than most hotels I've been to. It has two windows, and two skylights which open. So you get a lot of natural light. It also has a fan, which when combined with open windows, keeps the room comfortably cool. It also has three radiators in the room, and a radiator in the bathroom. So it's easy to keep warm when it's cold outside. There's also a desk with a mirror and lighting, so great for using your laptop on or for hair and makeup. Room includes a blow dryer for hair. There's a comfortable couch, and a coffee table, to sit and relax on. A small bistro table and two chairs for enjoying a meal. There's a wardrobe with hangers for storing clothes, and on the top shelf of the wardrobe is an extra blanket in case you are very chilly. There's a small doorless cupboard under the TV which has a kettle, mugs, water glasses, biscuits, crisps, bottles of water, tea (earl grey and herbal), instant coffee, and little containers of milk. The only things I would say the room is missing is a mini fridge (I think most hotels these days have one), and maybe an iron and ironing board. A microwave would also be a great addition with the mini fridge. Also, the bathroom doesn't seem to have very good ventilation. I just prop the door open after a shower to let the humidity air out afterwards. Those are not nearly enough to make me dislike this hotel in any way. Anytime I need to stay in the Hitchin area, I will stay here. The great things about this hotel more than make up for anything.

A small establishment which is also very quiet with ample free parking space. Stayed there for 3 straight weeks without any hiccups. Very good service & allowed us for late check out too since we were having flight in late evening. Wish the ladies all the best.

A substantial hotel on the outskirts of Hitchin Town. Well placed, plenty of parking. The room was lovely and warm. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfast was great with bean to cup coffee. The staff and owners were very helpful. Highly recommended.

Great parking at hotel only a 5 minutes walk into town centre as parking in centre is a nightmare . Everyone that works at hotel are lovely 'they speak and laugh with their guests and room was nice and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was lovely.

Stayed at the Firs Hotel for one night. We booked two rooms. A twin for my wife and and a single for my mother in law. The single room was fine but our twin room (number 23) had a very strong damp musty smell. There was a note on the window sill not to leave the velux roof window open more than and inch. This was due to the fact that if it rained the bed under this window would get wet. This must have had this happen at some stage which would explain the smell. The staff were all wonderful and very helpful so note fault there. Would I recommend this hotel. Of course I would just don't book room 23.

The firs hotel in hitchin was a great find. The staff were all so welcoming and absolutely nothing was a problem. Very relaxed family atmosphere with a really substantial breakfast to start the day. Pleasant ten min walk to town with some lovely shops. Spotlessly clean. All in all delighted.

Staff will bend over backwards to help. I had a broken ankle that happened two days before the trip. They were always asking if there was anything they could get me. Rooms are most like a house than an apartment, showers are hot with good pressure. Location is excellent. It is a classic old time British bed and breakfast feeling. Don't expect the newest furniture or building that's all.

extremely friendly staff, clean room, perfect location if you need to stroll into town, tasty breakfast with a nice selection to choose from😋 The only downside is there is no lift so struggling with luggage can be difficult. I have nothing bad to say as i was very comfortable in my 2 days stay here. (i travelled 2 hours to get here😩) The bed was comfortable and the pillows were not cheap tat- which makes all the difference! Private parking on site, and security so you feel safe. The free wifi was excellent as it gave a good signal. No problems there! overall, very happy and i give it 10/10

Love this hotel have stayed many times. Very clean rooms & excellent breakfast. Very friendly atmosphere. A little dated in the public areas but this does not detract from all the pluses

Staff were lovely..room was adequate cobwebs in bathroom and quite a bit of hair round bath .. location perfect for what we wanted .. sadly the only thing that was a let down was breakfast it was cold and not as big as we had expected...we ate it because we were hungry and had to leave early... other than that we enjoyed our stay
