Standard rugby ground with clubhouse and pitch, adjacent to a public park. Main reason for my visit was the annual CAMRA Hitchin beer festival.

Great Rugby club. All one big community. The bar staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is great. Good atmosphere game day. Would definitely recommend the club and the members if someone is looking to join a good club.

Great rugby club, fab beer selection for a rugby club as well. Just wish it was open more in the summer evenings and maybe did more 'events' - live music/discos for kids etc or something in weekend evenings.

Decent ground to play in. Refreshments are spot on, too. I was pretty hungover when I went, so I needed a decent sandwich and caffiene. It supplied both, and for that I'm thankful.

My children were playing on the skate park when my daughter cut her toe from broken glass on the ground. I saw 2 guys doing some maintenance at the rugby club a few yards away so asked them if I could borrow a broom and dust pan and brush to tidy up the glass. His reply was 'sorry we are locking up and going now. An hour later i saw someone was still there. Disappointing

Love the "grass roots" feel of this club. Everyone is friendly and goes the extra mile to make you welcome, whether you are a player or parent, U12 or adult - girls and boys alike! Quite simply one of the best locations to start your rugby journey whoever you are, however old you are.

Website says World Cup rugby games all shown. Walked down for the Scotland v Tonga game. 7 of us in the group, barman had no clue. Spirits in pint glasses! Then he shut before the game started. Enjoyed the game in Witherspoon's

Went for the Hitchin CAMRA beer festival 2018. Great venue for a beer fest with plenty if outside space and room for the marquees/food stands etc. The on site toilets were clean and well maintained as well. For this specific event it may be worth bringing your own chair or getting there at opening time as, while they are very generous with seats, they get taken pretty fast. Bit of a walk from the train station although local taxis are good value and local buses get you very close.

Was enjoying the pleasant park having a picnic with my family on the well maintained grass when two irresponsible dog owners failed to control their two dogs which terrorised our grandchildren as their dogs snatched food from our picnic. So please enjoy the space which is there for everyone's enjoyment but watch out for loose dogs.

A club of two halves. Clubhouse is nice and welcoming. Friendly staff and nice layout with a grass benched area outside facing the pitch. There are also a supporter section who are there in good spirit, they seem young and potentially / likely players of the club. And then who seem to ruin it for the reputation of the club are the older supporters, abusing opposition players and the ref with terrible language on display preventing this club being somewhere to take your children. I mean adult language is fine and the occasional bad word I believe is fine with children present but this is the kind of language you get at a Millwall Football terrace with utter hate in their voices. This older fan base have been there a very long time and continued to maintain their reputation. Shame.

A real grassroots rugby club, particulary good cider here if that takes your fancy. Great rugby training for all age groups

Visited for the beer festival so the only thing I used were the toilets. Found everything clean and tidy so stands up well to excessive useπŸ‘πŸ™‚ πŸ˜₯One of the auto lights wasn't quite working properly unless you were quite tall or jumped about waving your arms!

I've been to some fantastic rugby facilities, Hitchin RFC is ok in comparison, a revamp is much needed. The rugby is fantastic though and a lot of emphasis on mini and youth

Obviously biased review coming up.... My daughter wanted to try the game so came here via the school. Warmly welcomed by the club and have now completed our first U13 girls season. And how well they have done.... from a group of 60 - 70% inexperienced girls to recent winners of the Tigers Challenge at Butlins Minehead it's been great. Good coaching setup and good club facilities. It's everything a Rugby club should be. If your children want to try the game this is a great place to come and experience it. Looking forward to next season now. Here we are now in May 2022 and my daughter has just finished her first year of U18 Rugby. It's been a great journey for her and lots of fun and some emotional moments for us as parents as well. After the difficulties of previous Covid interrupted seasons it's been great to be back playing these past months. This was all capped by a fantastic few days on tour in Parma (Italy) this past April. Whilst Hitchin Rugby Club has a few things to sort out on the admin side (and they are working on this) the year group coaching has been superb and consistently good. My daughter has now played at County level and will hopefully continue on that pathway over the next couple of years. It's been a great journey so far and Girls Rugby at Hitchin is flourishing.

Went there to take one of the kids to the skate park. Decent self enclosed half pipe. Numerous other steel ramps and pieces to grind or manual on. All outdoors so bit cold if not skating. BUT if you go when the rugby clubs is open full bar and hot drinks

As well as the Rugby Club, this is the home of the Hitchin Beer and Cider Festival. Come join us from June 9th to 11th this year for some excellent beers, ciders and food.
