Great sunday lunch for 3. The place was quite so a very relaxed atmosphere. The service was fantastic and food was delivered quickly. Dishes were good if not memorable. £129 for 3 set menus + drinks+ deserts. Not cheap but enjoyable.

This restaurant was recommended to us and it really did not disappointed us. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive. The food is absolutely delicious. I had a fishcake with very nice creamy sauce and my partner had the shepherd's pie which he loved. The menue is small which immediately tells you that everything is fresh. What made the food even tastier was the fact that is local, seasonal and sustainable. A restaurant for the perfect date.

This is the second time I've been here. Excellent spot. The vegetarian lamb style flatbread was one of the best things I've ever eaten, truly. Great service and nice atmosphere. Hope to stop in again in the future.

My wife had her birthday meal here. The whole evening was lovely, staff were excellent and were very good with my child. Would definitely go again.

Lovely menu selection and hearty food. Good three course menu choice for £23.95. Servers attentive and pleasant. The design was good as acoustics worked, soft furnishings and padded ceiling to soften any noise. Very intimate and if I were local I’d become a regular. Lovely example of good value British European plates.

Absolutely lovely, freshly cooked food. Lovely ambience and excellent service too. I really enjoyed everything about the food and the atmosphere here. If you want to eat somewhere that doesn't have a generic menu where every item tastes the same and you could guess the menu without looking, then pay Lussmanns a visit. Really enjoyable in every way. I would definitely go back again.

Lussmanns was a lovely culinary experience! My wife and I were in town for just one night and we decided on Lussmanns for dinner. We ordered the fixed 3 course Christmas inspired dinner and all three courses were wonderful! My pork was perfectly cooked and seasoned as was my wife’s steak. The beetroot and goat cheese salad is amazing! I highly recommend the parsnips with a maple glaze, sooooo yummy! The honey thyme pudding was delicious as was the super sweet chocolate mousse. Everything about our dining experience at Lussmanns was worthy of five stars, the food, the service and the ambiance of the restaurant were all wonderful! We will definitely stop by Lussmanns the next time we are in town!

Great meal and excellent value. The options were varied and the set menu was excellent value at £21.50 for 3 courses. I had a fishcake with poached egg on top for main and it was cooked to perfection!

Lovely meal with wife and friend. Table was for 8pm and some menu items were short or gone. Obviously a very busy place. Table was comfortable and service attentive. Food was good. I had whitebait and nice but could do with a little spice. I always add a touch of cayenne. Belly Pork for main which was succulent and really good. Dessert was great too. Would definitely go again.

I can’t believe we have only just found this place . I visited with 3 family members . It’s very rare you find somewhere with the full package . From the moment we arrived to the moment left it was faultless . The lady that showed us to our table was very welcoming. Emma who served us the entire meal was happy to provide recommendations when asked , was very knowledgeable on every dish we asked about and wines. She is truly a gem and we can’t speak highly enough. The food was without doubt made with love and so delicious. There cannot be an apple crumble better on this planet . The brûlée is a surprise . It’s something when you want to eat your own dish and everyone else’s . We will be back.

Had a lovely anniversary meal. Didn't know anything about the place before dining there. We were very pleased with the service and quality of food. Would recommend.

Lovely experience. Set menu great value. Mum had pulled pork to start and then fishcake which were 5 star. I had sprats and then a steak. Both good but I wish I'd had fish for main. This is a fish restaurant after all. We will return most certainly.

Early evening all was quiet and we were able to leisurely have meal, my starter was some kind of beetroot with goat cheese, followed by pork belly strips then apple crumble for dessert. 3 courses for £ 21:50

We were looking for somewhere to eat (stupidly hadn’t booked anywhere and it was a Friday night !) A friend had recommended Lussmanns as very sustainable and they had just the one free table. Lovely starters (treacle salmon and chicken terrine) followed by fish and chips - a huge portion with mushy peas 😋😋😋 And Mad Squirrel beers 🍻🍻🍻

Best place I've eaten in Hitchin. Food was really tasty tonight, wide selection on the menu, and nice atmosphere. Service a little on the slow side, but was a busy night, so we'll forgive you. Overall, we really enjoyed our evening here.

I visited with some friends and neither of us had visited the establishment. We were welcomed by friendly staff and that service didn't change over the course of the whole evening. The manager was very knowledgeable about the menu and helped myself avoid diary as I have a dairy intolerance. We would happily visit again or another one of the Lussmanns establishments!

Excellent and friendly service. Had mackerel to start which was delightful. My partner had Hunter's linguine to start (with rabbit) he loved it. Mains were excellent (steak frites and chicken schnitzel). We both had black cherry cheesecake. One of the most delicious desserts we've ever tasted. There's a good selection of non-alcoholic drinks and a relaxed ambience. A highlight has to be the effort made with a garden salad. Perfectly dressed with sliced cornichons, capers and beautifully prepared leaves and cucumber.

Lovely food. Great atmosphere. The measures for covid we completely unintrusive to the dining experience. I will definitely be back again.

Took 25 minutes to bring the starters out. Which were totally bland, not even salt. Then the mains came out - chicken schnitzel with gristle in (not at this price it shouldn't), bland, chips weren't cooked properly. The salad was horrible, the pesto was inedible, very bitter. The lamb I paid extra for, was cold - it's not supposed to be. The 'manager' was just sullen faced, rude and didn't apologize once. She gave us 50% off the bill, even then it felt like robbery. It's overpriced pub food, with even less flavour. I'd not come back here. We weren't the only table with issued today either.

Great lunch indoors but wide open windows make it fell like we are outside. Good summer lunch deals. Had sole and fishcakes that they were both very good. Service was very friendly and professional.

To be honest, my mum was a better fish cook than anyone at this restaurant. The fish cakes were overcooked, had way too thick battered coating and were very bland. The Dover Sole was not filleted and again it was overcooked. The saving grace here is the staff who are polite, attentive and helpful. The atmosphere in the restaurant is calm and the decor is pleasing. I wouldn't go back for the food but it would be a nice place to take friends who are visiting.
