Simple accommodation but priced accordingly. The reception rooms on the ground floor speak to the hotel's grand history and are fun to explore. Breakfast is included in the room cost and consists of two hard-boiled eggs per guest with plenty of toast, butter and jam. Cold water showers only and rooms not cleaned during stay. Would recommend for its novelty value but don't expect luxury.
The Royal is the oldest hotel in the South Pacific. Staying at the Royal is like being transported in time. There so much history to take in. The rooms with ceiling fans are ok if the weather isnt scorching hot. The staff are hardly there and the only meals served are during breakfast. Otherwise you have to go out to look for food. The views on from the ocean side rooms are breathtaking especially in the mornings.
Levuka's old hotel and levula itself is also the older capital of Fiji. A rather quaint, beautiful town with good eatery options and drinking holes. Stayed in this hotel for the weekend overlooking the pacific ocean. Coudnt have asked for more. Loved it
