This is the absolute best kept secret in New Haven. The Luke is an elevated dining experience, from the champagne greeting while you wait for your table to the care with which staff gives you a fresh plate for every dish. The food is indescribable. Really. Y’all have to understand I don’t normally give praise like this. Everything we ate was delicious and crafted with so much care. Honestly I give this place a few weeks before it blows up and becomes the hottest spot in town. Bring anyone you want to impress, including yourself. I’m so glad I found this place.

An absolute foodie experience from the moment you walk in. Seated with Prosecco while you wait for your table, sets the mood for an incredible evening. The dishes are all presented at your table by the chef /owner with exciting flair. He’s incredibly generous and sends over dishes you didn’t even order just so you can try. Highly recommend!

This is my favourite restaurant in Connecticut and I have probably come in to eat every 2 weeks if not every week since I discovered it earlier this year. It is deceptively affordable–the venue is beautiful and the dishes are unique but the prices are very generous! Not to mention the great complimentary prosecco, dessert, and amazing bread and cheese. The tuna is the best seafood I have ever had in my life and a must-order every time! The veal and duck were also other notable favorites. Every sauce the Luke has ever ordered is impeccable and are great compliments (especially to meats). The $1 oysters are also the best prices in town and delicious with their sauces too. Lastly, the staff are excellent. Super welcoming and accommodating and very professional.

This place was amazing, great addition to the New Haven food scene. From the excellent food to the great service from the staff. Everything was on point. We where perplexed by the flavors, specially the polenta, it was just incredible. Definitely will go as a regular to this restaurant.

Wow, Wow, Wow! What an amazing experience. Everyone in the New Haven area should run to this new place. All the dishes are made to share and the food was some of the best I've ever eaten. the Luke definately brings a new high mark for New Haven. Chef Vincent is the real deal with an impressive resume working with some serious heavy hitters in the culinary world yet he is very hands on and committed to delivering real food, real experiences for everyone without any pretention. That promise was evident in spades last night!

Excellent food and experience at the Luke! The empty plate was the asparagus that the chef brought out complimentary because he wanted to make sure we were full enough. We already were, but that may have been my favorite item. Each dish got better and better (even though I was under the impression they wouldn’t be able to top dish one). We will certainly be back.

We arrived in New Haven for my college reunion and made a point of going to Luke Brasserie for dinner on the recommendation of a good friend. Our experience was extraordinary! Everything we ate was fresh, hand crafted and beautifully prepared. Highlights of our dinner included a beet salad, a white asparagus appetizer, seared tuna, and the veal chop. Everything is designed for sharing… Perfect for a date! The candlelight, music, and the dark, chocolate covered almonds were just perfect. We would also give 5 stars to the waitstaff; they were very attentive! We’ll be back!

I haven't been at such a great place for quite a while. Chief Vincent is outstanding. Great place to have a date or anniversary. Not to mention the food is gorgeous. And the vibe, you need to feel it. Rush to capture it in your memory as it is. I'm a little bit upset that i am here only for a few days.

Had a wonderful experience and delight as we made our way thru their tasting menu. The place has a good balance between fine dinning and a more laid back ambiance. Very friendly and attentive staff. For me it's a nice new gem in the New Haven culinary scene.

Super welcoming staff makes you feel instantly at ease. Focused yet varied menu for the carnivore to the vegetarian. Portions were just right, easy to share. Seems like the menu may change monthly which is something to look forward to. They make their own bread AND chocolate, both delicious. I’m not one to go to a bar for a drink but the bartender, Ben made me happy to arrive earlier than my dinner partner and hang for a bit in their cool “Mad Men” era looking bar. Chef is accomplished and engaging, everything was presented beautifully with style. Definitely felt like they knew what they were doing. That made it an experience we could relax into. It’s always been a classic space with a good vibe and they seem to have some creative ideas to make it accessible all day. I’m looking forward to seeing how The Luke settles into New Haven. Will definitely be back.

Ate a phenomenal dinner here tonight. All the food was flavorful and perfectly cooked and the service was impeccable. Didn’t get pics of everything but had oysters, clams with pancetta, shrimp, hamachi, ribeye with parsnip purée and truffle sauce. Will definitely be back here.

Phenomenal food and lovely staff. Chef Vince is wonderful, and The Luke will not disappoint. When ROIA closed, I was worried about what would take its place since I was such a fan of the food, but this brasserie surpassed all expectations. Also, the space itself at the historic Taft Apartments is gorgeous. It's definitely a more upscale place, so keep that in mind if price and portions are a concern, but I really can't recommend it enough.

An excellent dinning experience! The service was phenomenal from the entire staff right from walking in the door. We started with white asparagus and it was creamy & delicious. We then had roasted clams which was seasoned well. The NY aged steak was cooked good but the piece of meat was a bit tough. The sides with the steak being the potatoes & parsnips were good. Overall, due to us being at some of the best steak houses in ct this as an entree didn’t hit the mark for the cost of it alone being $80.00. But the dessert served free of charge was a nice touch and was so so good it was ice cream served with shaved strawberries & white chocolate. We would recommend to anyone for the dinning experience this provided. And to top it off they validate parking!

My husband reserved a table for us for our first year anniversary. This was by far the BEST restaurant I have been to. The service from start to finish was outstanding! The free Prosecco while you wait to be seated was a great surprise and sets the mood for the amazing night you’re about to have. We loved everything about this place. So much so that we didn’t want to leave. We will definitely be coming back and recommending to all of our friends and family. If your looking for a great place, a reason to dress up and enjoy New Haven at night, or simply to go to a bar with an amazing atmosphere and great food, look no further and go to The Luke Brasserie. I promise you, you won’t regret it.

We stumbled upon The Luke by luck, and we’re so glad we did. The $25 Friday wine deal gave us a delicious Malbec. We received amazing service thanks to our beautiful server Iris, who walked us through the menu, which all sounded amazing. The multigrain bread with sheepsmilk ricotta was perfection…and the dessert, you have to go and taste. The only thing that I would’ve changed? Get those amazing waitresses out of those boring beige smocks they’re wearing. This place is too beautiful to have boring uniforms. Highly recommend!
