👍👍 Spent the day kayaking on the nissequogue river. Stunning landscape, and a part of Long Island that most people probably have not seen. From the park by Sunken Meadow to the end of the navigable portion of the nissequogue River is about 7 miles, ending at the waterfall. People often mention river, park, kayak, launch,

It's a great canoe/kayak rental place! You paddle down the nissequogue river, and see some great wildlife and plant life. The owners of the rentals are very friendly. The trip is about 6 miles long.

This park is a great place to launch kayaks and canoes into the Nissequogue River, but is very limited in terms of space for other activities one might want to do at a park. The dirt road between the main parking area and the boat launching site is deeply rutted and the overgrown scrub makes visibility on this path extremely limited.

Perfect place to launch or arrive by kayak depending on the tides! Highly recommend even to just hang out on a bench and kill some time

It's where you either leave or arrive from kayaking/canoeing the river.

My husband took me here on Oct 7, 2023. He was showing me where he used to run, which was close to this place. We stopped, got out of the car, and looked around for a few minutes. The area was so serene and majestic. It was a place where you could really be one with nature. It's truly a hidden gem. We highly recommend that if you are in the area and want to be one with nature, fish, and/or have a picnic (date lunch), with your spouse, this may be the perfect spot.

This is a small park with access to Nissequogue River. There is river fishing off an old bridge and my favorite kayak launch. The river can be as shallow as 6 inches so if setting out to kayak upstream to State park. It is crucial to check the tide charts. It is about a 2.5 to 3 hr kayak ride to Nissequogue State Park. Kayak launching from up river to this park is also possible for a parking fee. Check tide schedules!! This river is full of wildlife. Turtles, fish, cranes, and other fowl. So peaceful. Kayak rentals are available from 3rd party private outfitters down the road.

This is a brillant park in that a space was carved out in a busy part of a township by a thoughtful government and is a precious gift for us and our progeny. A tidal river runs from the headwaters located here and goes to the Sound. Canoes can be rented. You will need to make arrangements to be picked up at the end.

Great spot for kayaking, can pull up right to the river to launch, decent amount of wildlife to observe. Can make it a short paddle or be out there the whole day

Its a quiet park as long as you don't mind listening to traffic and there's a canoe or kyack launch there's a section of the Nissequoge River that flows to the main river
