😠 The hardest part about moving every couple of years is finding a good vet. I thought this was going to be a perfect fit. Checkups for our 4 furbabies, exotic care for our bearded dragon, boarding all at the same place. I was so wrong. I am glad that the experience I had was with only 1 of our animal... Wish I could give no stars. My dog has been on bravecto for tick prevention and has apparently had Lyme disease since 2020. My vet Care Animal of Libertyville just told me about it two years later. The excuse given was because it was during her boarding and when the test came back it wasn’t added to the system correctly. I even called 4 days ago to make her yearly appointment, and a bit concerned because my sweet girl had been a bit lethargic and they said β€œnothing in her health history points to an issue.” Furious beyond belief. Will never be back. Made an appointment with Green tree before I even pulled out of Care. My sweet 4 year old girl for a reference.

The hardest part about moving every couple of years is finding a good vet. I thought this was going to be a perfect fit. Checkups for our 4 furbabies, exotic care for our bearded dragon, boarding all at the same place. I was so wrong. I am glad that the experience I had was with only 1 of our animals instead of with all of them present for checkups or preparing for boarding. I'm glad it happened while I was present. The vet seemed so uncomfortable handling cats. The solution was coming back the next day with this 6lb cat drugged so she was "calmer". I took her out of the kennel and placed her on the scale right after they claimed she was "aggressive" and she was as calm as could be the entire time. Even when they brought her back to the exam room she was calm in her kennel. She wasn't hiding in the back of the kennel, wasn't hissing, growling, any sort of sign to show she was aggressive. Never have I had a vet or assistant express any concerns or get attacked by her. Even when it was a new clinic. If you are uncomfortable with cats, do not handle cats. A different vet should have taken that appointment. I offered to hold her for the exam and they weren't even willing to try. There was no effort made. They removed her from the room after arriving, tried getting her out of the kennel by immediately throwing a towel on her. If anything, she was probably upset by how poorly it was approached. They didn't take the time in the room to let her smell them, pet her, or anything. Just jumped right in. Would you do that with a dog? I sure hope not. I was so baffled by the experience that I went and looked at other reviews here and on other pages and realized this is not uncommon. It felt more like a money grab attempt to get me to buy a prescription to "calm her" and then have me return the next day and be charged more. For a cat that I know is not even nearly as aggressive as they made her out to be. At least I know to continue looking until I find a vet that is able to make all of my pets and myself feel comfortable. This clinic didn't even try to make her comfortable. Not all vets are a good fit. This experience proved that. At least I didn't waste too much money here before realizing it. Could have been worse.

Amazing animal hospital. This was our first time taking our cat to a different vet, our usual vet office could not fit us in and our cat needed to be seen fast. Shout out to Dr. Brittany and the staff for being so friendly and sweet. Also thorough and answering all our questions, took such good care of our cat and made us feel so welcome and comfortable. Thank you so much!

The doctors are thorough, never rush thru the exams and address all your questions and concerns. Jordan always greets our gang (3) of pups as tho they are her own. If you're looking for a veterinarian, I would recommend Care Animal Hospital of Libertyville without hesitation.

Easily the best vet experience you'll have. If you're taking your pet somewhere else then you're doing it wrong. Updated on 5/14/23: I can't say enough how awesome C.A.H. is. From the great receptionists, the Vet techs and finally Dr. Quicho are so over the top excellent. Both our dogs are very relaxed there and are treated like family. This place is run with love.

Dr. Luaces and his team are EXCELLENT! He is the BEST surgeon I know. He is the only surgeon I trust to work on my dogs. That says a lot because I run a dog rescue and work with vets all over the midwest. I travel almost an hour one way to see him and it is worth every second of my time. He and his staff are kind, caring, and AMAZING.

The staff was very friendly. I also liked the fact they were able to transfer our lizards medical records prior to her appointment.

Has been my cats primary vet for many years. Always helpful and Great friendly staff. Plus they have cats in the lobby and that in and of itself is a win.

I have generally liked the level of care we get for our cats here. Dr. Lucaes is a very knowledgeable vet for cats, and he is no-nonsense and efficient in his visits. Unfortunately we were charged $49 for a nail cut on our last visit, and when I called to question it, I got very little help in understanding what could possibly cause a nail cut that cost $21 two months ago (and something that a lot of vets do as a courtesy when you're there for an office visit with other labs, etc.) to cost $49. Keep in mind we brought TWO cats to this visit, so almost $100 in nail trims. Unbelievable. I mentioned that something like this would cause us to look elsewhere for care, because really, that is insane! And we take all 7 of our kitties there. They get thousands of dollars from us every year. Too bad. I'll miss Dr. Lucaes. They've also had some issues with working with Petranek's pharmacy, where we often have to get in the middle of the process to ensure that we get medication we need in a timely manner. I don't know which entity has the problem, but it was disappointingly handled.

Absolutely LOVE that they treat exotic animals like guinea pigs. It’s impossible to find an exotic vet in in the Lake Bluff/Lake Forest area so I am glad we have them!. So glad they do! And my Piggies always appreciate the nail trims! I also very much appreciate that they do medical boarding of special-needs dogs, like our diabetic dog. So great!!! πŸ‘

Great doctors and a caring staff that has helped me with my dogs through the years. And now that I"m older I have adopted a cat from them. Glad I did and still receiving great care and advice.

Took my created gecko in for mouth rot, clear signs of it. Was told it a respiratory infection, given meds and shots for close to 400 dollars. I should have known better (followed my gut feeling) but took the advice of the vet. Went back for 6 shots at 31 dollars a each visit. Mouth rot is worse now and taking my gecko to another local vet. Perhaps regular animals they are ok with. Steer clear for your exotic needs.

After using a handful of vets throughout my 35 years of dog ownership I find Care animal hospital the best. When you first walk through the door you can feel their love for animals. Vets are very skilled and prices are good. Highly recommend

Doctor was very patient with me asking questions and gave great answers back i love how she informed us about puppy teeth rotting and making their breath stink which explains his nasty smelling mouth lol overall everyone seemed caring about my Baloo definitely will be coming back :)

Our dogs were boarding when our large dog spit out her meds and our small one quickly ate it. I contacted her he clinic and they immediately got a vet to advise us. They worked with the boarding facility to get my dog in ASAP, treated, and meds to prevent any damage from the medicine. Amazing urgency by the whole team!

Great treatment of my big guy. They were very caring and detailed and didn't push for extras like I've experienced in the past. With that being said they are also extremely reasonable from the financial side which makes this my new vet. Thankful to have a place like this so close to me πŸ‘πŸ‘

They took my boy for an appointment within the hour. Flexible scheduling, reasonable prices and excellent follow up care. They even called to confirm when a script has been sent into the pharmacy. The place to be if you have a chronically ill pet. Traded up for way better care.
