As
a
nurse
specialist
who
has
been
the
provider
of
healthcare
and
clinical
education
for
over
40
years,
I
am
an
impossibly
finicky,
discerning
recipient!
Thus,
my
therapy
experience
spanning
several
months
(twice/week,
and
ongoing)
at
the
Athletico
facility
in
Libertyville
has
led
to
this
rare
(for
me)
and
extremely
deserving
review,
in
hopes
that
it
also
helps
YOU.
No
stranger
to
surgery
and
subsequent
therapy
for
my
spine,
I
ended
up
here
after
an
unexpected,
complex
(and
very
painful)
surgery
of
the
hand.
My
surgeon
highly
recommended
my
therapist
(more
to
come)
and
she
works
here,
so
I
crossed
my
fingers
and
called
to
make
an
appt.
From
that
moment
on,
I’ve
honestly
been
blown
away-
Erin
at
the
front
desk
was
accommodating,
kind,
and
efficiently
got
me
scheduled
right
away
for
my
highly
booked
therapist.
Covid
precautions
are
exceedingly
well
met
and
strictly
observed
by
the
entire
staff,
and
I
feel
safe
each
time
I
visit.
The
other
therapists
and
assistant
therapists
ALL
greet
you,
get
to
know
you,
and
they/the
atmosphere
are
extremely
upbeat
and
positive.
If
you
get
to
work
with
Becky,
Autumn,
and
another
therapist
in
the
hand
arena,
Sam-
consider
yourself
lucky
as
they
are
gems,
knowledgeable,
skilled,
and
brightened
many
a
tough
session
for
me.
But
my
biggest
blessing
throughout
this
whole
mess,
and
truly
someone
I
consider
my
angel
throughout,
is
Katie
Piazzi.
I
could
write
paragraphs
about
her!
Suffice
it
to
say,
surgeons/physicians
(and
I
know
several)
HIGHLY
respect
her
and
send
their
patients
to
her
from
all
over
(my
surgeon
said
“she
may
be
the
best
in
the
country”),
she
mentors
and
trains
OT
students
and
new
therapists
in
all
aspects
of
care
but
I
believe
her
specialty
lies
in
hand/upper
extremity,
and
even
my
past
PT
practice
seeks
her
out
for
advice!
So
she’s
uber
GOOD.
However,
she’s
also
“extra”-
and
blends
all
her
knowledge
and
skill
with
innate
clinical/psych
perception,
laser
beam
assessment,
workable
solutions
and
never
ending
encouragement.
I
know
this
journey
for
me
would
not
have
been
as
successful
in
the
time
it’s
taken
thus
far,
without
her.
I’ve
come
a
very
long
way,
and
I
truly
owe
that
to
her.
So
in
ending-
Katie,
you’ve
been
my
occupational
therapist,
coach,
teacher,
task
master,
advocate
and
FRIEND.
Thank
you
from
the
bottom
of
my
heart!
And
to
the
rest
of
the
staff
at
Athletico
-
this
healthcare
worker
applauds
you!
