Sandy, the newest receptionist, has totally made me lose faith in this facility. She hung up the phone on me, had a super snotty attitude, and she would not listen to a thing I was trying to say. I understand working in healthcare is rough, let's just show some kindness and humanity. This place needs to change up the way they run things.

After reading all the wonderful reviews I thought I would give this place a try, went in for an appointment with grandma who was seen by Dr. Dowell. He was great, sweet and super patient with my grandmother. However, there is one lady at the front is clearly racist. After initially checking in with her I moved on to the lady next to her and she was great help. After this appointment my husband went in alone for his annual eye exam and was told he did not have an appt, which they were later able to find but again he was seen by the racist lady at the front. He has been to several eye places throughout his lifetime and he said this was the worst experience with the lady at the front. Again, the doctor that actually performed the eye exam was wonderful. While the doctors were amazing the, the initial impression at the front was not. I am still conflicted on whether I will be staying with this office or unfortunately having to find a new one.

Dr. Dowell gets 5/5 stars. I’ve never had an optometrist so comprehensive and focused on patient education. I will definitely be back for exams for him! Also if COVID restrictions matter to you, everyone is very compliant with masking and keeping patients masked. This is not a huge priority for me but I thought worth mentioning. The rest of the staff is the reason for 4 stars. No huge complaints but when checking in the receptionist was confused about why I was there when I said I was a “new patient.” It was kind of a “why are you here” attitude. Also, the tech who did my first few tests didn’t even introduce herself, so I wasn’t sure whether or not she was the doctor so it was a little confusing. Again these are just nit-picky… I’m mostly there for the provider, but it’s the staff that brings things up to five stars for me. The lady who helped me with eyeglasses though was very nice and let me do my thing while she looked up my insurance benefits for me. Thanks again all!

Just started going here a little over a year ago after I was disenchanted by my previous eye doctor. They really make you feel like they care about you here.

Jaclyn was amazing! She pulled my insurance and went over the options for what I could get without breaking the bank (co-pay amounts can be crazy). Helped me pick out frames, lenses, and lens options that look wonderful! Definitely recommend seeing Jaclyn to help with your glasses needs!

Always a great experience. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Dr.Dowell is everything you could need or want in an eye care professional. Great at explaining procedures, tests, results and answering questions. He's definitely my go to "Eye Guy".

I have been a patient for quite a few years now. Dr Dowell and staff are always wonderful. He takes the time to explain test results and makes sure I understand treatment options. I am always seen on time for my appointments- Never a wait to be seen. I highly recommend Libertyville Vision Center.

Deliberately ignored me during business hours for absolutely no reason after texting me letting me know that my contact order is ready to be picked up. Both receptionists and the optometrist acted if they couldn't see me, seriously rude and unprofessional business practice. They could have let me know why they were not able to help me or why they closed 30 minutes early instead of turning their back to me after making eye contact.

I have been a patient at Libertyville Vision for many years. Dr Heimlich examined me yesterday for a renewal of my contact lens prescription. As always he was friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. The clinic is taking appropriate COVID precautions. I highly recommend.

Dr. Dowell was amazing & very thorough will my 14 year olds exam. We also received excellent service by everyone including great help with ordering glasses. Everyone is incredibly friendly & helpful!!

I've known Dr. Heimlich for 35 years or so. There is NO ONE I would rather go to. He's kind, knowledgeable, and caring.

Very helpful and thorough team. Waiting for my new prescription to arrive, but I feel they really nailed down my vision needs.

I don't think they're even in business anymore. I've tried sending them messages multiple times via their website contact form asking a couple extremely simple, basic questions, and they never, ever reply. Even if they're in business, that goes to show the level of attention and customer service over there.

Friendly and helpful staff, and a good overall experience. It would have been helpful to know that I should expect to have eyes dilated, I could have planned for that.
