This place is one of our go to's when it comes to Father's Day. It almost became a tradition. This year we were kayaking on the lake, brought our own. There is also rental place, which has affordable pricing, offering kayaks and paddle boats for rent. You can take a stroll around the lake, or go on a bike on the paved trails. Numerous outdoor activities to enjoy that vary from fishing, camping, archery and if I'm not mistaken sledding in the winter time. Had a wonderful day out with our family😎

I can only imagine how green and nice it would be in the spring/summer. Definitely coming back for a trail run and perhaps encounter the coyote mum and pup again (from afar of course).

It's a great hill for tubing. It cost just $10 per rental and the average person will last about an hour. For us, we went up 3 times. It took about 15 minutes to get up the hill and a quick 40 seconds to come down. I have no idea how quick we were coming down, but it was fast.

Nice spot on the North side of Butterfield Rd that we visited with our cub scout pack. There were Rangers there to lead a fishing outing. They bought the fishing gear and bait. It was my son's first time fishing. The pond is located near the shelter by the archery range. This pond is a catch and release pond. There are roads here and signs to help you navigate once inside the preserve. Parking lots are a decent size as well. I didn't drive to other parts of the preserve. As far as restrooms, there was a porta potty where we were at. It was one of the larger ones and the walkway is paved so a wheelchair can be used in this area.

This is a nice place to experience nature yet close by. It's a loop trail about 2.5 miles that is wide crushed limestone. I see lots of bird watching going on there.

My family and I absolutely love this place. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The grounds are only open on weekends and an extra day for holiday weekends, so the grounds are in fantastic condition. It close to food and groceries so if you get anything it's a short hope to get it. And with the nice big spots you're not right on top of the next camper.

It was a gorgeous day to explore Blackwell. The park is always kept up and clean. We love fishing and taking our dogs here. We have been going here since the 80's when there was a beach! Today we took out our SUP boards! It was absolutely perfect! If your taking your dogs remember there are A Lot of ticks this time of yr. Don't forget to check your fur babies. We had a couple on ours.

Great place to rent or launch your own Kayak. If using your own you must have a permit that also grants access to multiple other lakes. Have wonderful places for BBQs or just to rest and enjoy a picnic in the shade. Also a GREAT sledding hill in the winter!

This place is magical. Hiking, kayaking, camping, picnic areas, archery range, bike paths. In some spots you feel like you are secluded and away from city life. Very calming.

Great forest preserve with watercraft rental over summer. Decent fishing aa well. Nice trails which extend North to McGee marsh. Nice dogpark with plenty of shade for summer visits. Youth campground has decent size sites with water and portable toilets.

This place is perfect for family camping. Well maintained restroom. There is no bike trail near camp site. You need to go down lil bit to access a trail. The lake and boat option are a plus one here

Fun lake in Dupage county. I have caught many bass and bluegill here in my childhood. Revisited recently and was happy to see they were still doing the boat rentals. Very clean and nice location to put your boat in or just take a walk in nature. They had small john boats, paddle boats, and Kayaks. They were not open when I was there, but I believe they rent trolling motors also for the John boats.

Took our new 2-3 person kayak for its maiden voyage. Great launch!! Get your permit online before you go. 1 year permit was only 30$. Took the dogs and kids and had a great day at the preserve taking turns on the kayak. Also Rented a 2 man kayak for 18$ an hour for flexibility.

Had no idea the place existed. Went there fishing with the kids. There's a fishing pier with different kinds of smaller fish kids can practice catching. Boat and kayak rentals also available. The pier is handicapped ready with specific spots adjusted, so that people in wheelchairs have an easier time to cast, and rest their poles.
