My wife and I stayed here about a week ago it was a three-day visit . We were in town for our son's graduation from Navy boot camp which was just a few minutes away. On the first evening about 1:30 a.m. my wife woke screaming saying that something had bit her while sleeping. She had multiple bites on the back of her leg and they got inflamed quickly. I immediately went down to the front desk and they changed our room right away. Even though we did not sleep well that first night the rest of the stay was fine. I spoke to the assistant hotel manager late the next morning her name was Tracy. Tracy told me they had the room inspected about 8 a.m. that morning they did not find anything. I told her obviously something was in the bed and bit my wife we even have photos and video to show it. I told her there was obviously about a 5 or 6 hour gap from when we were in the room and when they had it inspected. I asked her if there would be any type of compensation for that one night she said it was kind of out of her hands and it was a Marriott decision. I spoke to Marriott representative by phone and they told me the same thing that it was out of their hands and up to the hotel manager. I left two voicemails for the hotel manager after our stay was done she did not get back to me she had Marriott call me and remind me that I would get no compensation. This was quite an inconvenience as I said we changed the room about 2 a.m. ,we were up for the graduation at 5:30 a.m. and barely slept. Marriott and the Courtyard Marriott Hotel assistant manager offered no type of resolution to us except "you say something happened and we cannot prove that it did". It was a terrible resolution they could have done something for us ,we paid to eat breakfast there a few days and we also paid and ate dinner and had drinks in the lobby for a few nights. My wife and I travel a lot and I've never had an incident like this before in our lifetime. Again the incident was not really acknowledged and was handled very poorly. I would strongly advise anyone from staying in this hotel because it seems obvious to me if there is any type of conflict you will not get any sympathy or any type of resolution to the problem. We are highly disappointed and insulted in Marriott itself and in this hotel.

Tried to get a room at night. Did not have a reservation but figured it was worth a try. There was an older African American woman at the front desk. She asked if I had a reservation I said no. She gave me the rate I said fine. She asked for my credit card which I gave her. Then she asked for ID which I was digging around in my purse for. Admittedly for a hot moment and the found it and put on the counter. She said that I needed to leave. And then half walked behind the partition wall? And said the police were alerted which was very strange because I was quiet. Had payment and proper ID. I was by myself and very tired. When I asked what her name was she asked mine. I gave it to her. She refused to give me her name and said again I had to “GET OUT” with no explanation as to why. I’m a 30 something single woman who had been driving late at night and just wanted a room. I would NEVER GO HERE.

The room was spacious and cozy. We had a blast in the the pool and hot tub. When we needed extra towels and coffee brought to our room, it was there in under five minutes. I highly recommend staying here, your stay will be pleasant and worth the trip.

Really nice place. Decent rooms. Customer service was fine but there was a lady there at night a older black women with glasses a night I was there with my friends and she approached only me and asked if I booked a room there, my room number and last name and mentioned something about calling the police? Which really through me off because I was not loud and there was a group of us there. That made me super uncomfortable and probably will not becoming back after that.

This hotel is dirty, very old interiors, dusty with yellowing carpets and curtains and all around in terrible condition. I baffling to me how this property gets any good reviews! We reserved suites here for 3 nights and it was so dirty and dusty that we only stayed the one night and moved to another property. The suite prices were expensive compared to beautiful clean hotels in downtown Chicago. We don't normally have allergies or other breathing issues, but within an hour of being in the rooms we were wheezing and sneezing and itchy. The sofas in the rooms are so old that the arm rest fabric is frayed and falling apart from years of usage. When you sit on the sofa is sags. We were afraid to pull it out for fear of what would emerge. The bedding and towels however are very clean so that was the only plus. No water pressure in the shower. The bathroom is very old and yellowing. The curtains that were once white are yellowing and frayed. If you have any allergies, even if you don't, do yourself a favor and DO NOT STAY HERE. We selected this property because it was close to the Navy Recruit Training Center and we were in town for the PIR Graduation. Its proximity and the reviews made it seem like this was a good choice. Its NOT. Its filthy and the price was outrageous for the condition of these rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful, but this place needs a serious cleaning, they need to remove those dirty carpets, curtains and saggy fabric sofas! DO NOT STAY HERE!

The staff seems to be racist and scared of African Americans. Before I was even onsite I was met with disrespect and mouthy employees. They tried to put my daughter and nieces out of the hotel because I wasn’t onsite with them. She then calls the police on my family stating I was committing fraud and they were trespassing. They were rude, disrespectful, and very condescending. Room 211 was actually the room making and not my family. They called the police on them and was really trying to put them out. When my daughter got a hold of me via phone not only was the racist Park City police officer rude but so was whomever the staff was with him. She was majorly rude, and very mouthy. This wasn't professional in any manner. African American patrons BEWARE!

Great staff. Everyone here goes out of their way to be nice and accommodate the families in town for Navy RTC graduation. Rooms and grounds are well kept. Pool and spa look nice but we didn’t use. Outdoor gas fire pit and chairs are great. Little market with snacks, beer and wine was greatly appreciated. Highly recommended!

Excellent location and staff is super helpful and welcoming. The entire place is getting remodeled. One building and lobby has the look of a new hotel. It is clean and fresh. Although there is the strong chemical smell of new carpet for those with allergy issues. No paint smell. Our room had a little mini balcony where we weee able to open the door for fresh air. Nothing fancy in the rooms, tv and fridge. No coffee maker or extras. Beds are new (again chemical smell) and bedding was new as well. I would come back just for the attentiveness from the staff. Happy travels!

Best hotel experience in a long time. The room was so clean and completely newly updated. The entire staff was friendly and very professional. Part of the hotel was still under construction but did not interfere with our stay. Very nice experience. This was our 2nd time here, and we will be back.

We stayed here for our daughters graduation from Navy boot camp. We got in a little early and we were able to check in early. That was a plus after a very long drive. Abi checked us in and was super nice! The rooms were just re-done and very nice. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Very spacious room and a closet too. Great location, close to many restaurants and stores and not very far from where the graduation was held. The only thing that I really wasn't too thrilled with was the bathroom, it did not have ventilation/fan so when you shower it got really steamy in the bathroom. The lady who checked us out was also so sweet! All in all it's a great place to stay.

Pretty good hotel in Gurnee. Not the most modern, but everything is clean and well maintained. The lobby is very nice and updated. Staff is very friendly. I am rating 4 stars because the bed wasn't the most comfortable and there are no USB outlets and not enough outlets in general. I travel a lot and this is the first hotel in a long time that hasnt either had USB by the bed or a USB lamp.

Very nice place. Clean rooms. The pool area was nice. My only complaint was that there are only two very small garbages in the entire room and they fill fast. No garbage in the bathroom which as a woman I thought was strange. We had a weird run in with a lady in the pool area, but once the staff was informed, the situation was handled fast and appropriately. We would definitely stay here again.

The employees who work here are awesome! They are SO friendly and helpful and just overall seem to like their job! The hotel itself has good parking, a nice lobby, and one elevator. The gym and pool areas were very nice. The pool water was heated to a nice temperature and we were pleasantly surprised by the hot tub. The location is within walking distance of Starbucks, Denny's, and Walmart. The only complaint worth mentioning is that the pull-out sofa is extremely uncomfortable (who would have thought?) so please be aware if you have adults guests needing to sleep on it. Otherwise, great hotel!

Clean and quiet hotel. We stayed in a suite which was so spacious! The whole room was decorated nicely and comfortable. The pool and hot tub were large and not busy. Close to many restaurants and stores as well. Fantastic staff and yummy cafe! Perfect place to relax!

Pros: -the staff was great, attentive, and helpful Good location, Walmart, Starbucks and a few good restaurants in walking distance (Pro tip if you like to save money, go to the Starbucks next to the hotel, not in it) -food and drink area, with plastic spoons, forks, knifes -free shuttle service that take you to certain businesses -quiet, I didn't hear a peep out of anyone -bedding was nice and comfortable -weren't busy, even with the Navy graduation in town Cons: - ROOF CONSTRUCTION happening in the morning until 5:30 pm (you can hear it even from the first floor) I would have not booked here if I was informed of this prior, this would be helpful to know for people who are sensitive to sounds -rooms are outdated wall paper and decorations are tacky -could have been cleaner I believe they only changed the sheets, refilled the toilet paper, soap and towels, it was not vacuumed -NO microwave??? -NO freezer compartment in the fridge -$3.80 for a water(just go to Walmart) -NO napkins or condiments available

If you want to feel like family and welcomed as a Navy family this is the place to stay. I can't say enough wonderful things about their staff. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were very informed and comfortable about our stay and visit to the Navy base for our SRs graduation. They gave us directions and an informational packet. Not to mention it has the perfect location with food and if needed a Walmart within walking distance. Visit Anastasias while there food and service was wonderful!

Staff super friendly and helpful. Young lad on the bar in particular had a busy few days! Rooms a bit dated and decor quite tired in places but comfortable beds so can't complain

15 minutes away from Great Lakes Boot Camp graduation. Great location. Booked with third party for cheaper rate. Easy check and friendly staff. $4 shuttle available to take you to graduation.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. We travel a lot and this was by far one the best hotels we have stayed at. The ladies that run the bar and restaurant are the best.

Great location especially if you're going to the mall, six flags, or great wolf lodge. Very nice indoor pool and a jacuzzi to die for. Any request made was honored within minutes.

Great blackout curtains and amenities. Less than great water pressure and no free breakfast. Beds weren’t my style and could use an updating, but that’s just me.

Whoever authorized that corn hole could be played in the courtyard made a very poor business decision. It sounded like someone was kicking a dumpster over and over and over. I called the front desk four times to ask them to stop and they never did. We had two rooms for two nights and none of us got any sleep. I asked for a refund or a discount and was denied. I spent over $800 here and was appalled at the noise level. You can do better Marriot, can't you?!

The building looks a little dated, but don't let looks deceive you. Our stay was great and the staff was very helpful and friendly. We had a great time and we would happily stay here again.

Love this place. Clean rooms, comfy beds, friendly staff, great pool and hot tub and quiet. The Cafe has amazing food as well. This is my new choice for my Chicago area business trips. Highly recommended.

This hotel experience was perfect. Nothing to complain about. They went above and beyond to accommodate. They also put a little gift package together for our whole gymnastics state team. The staff were so helpful and sincere!
