It used to look nice from the outside but the owner has let it go. He is very rude, and does not care at all about people living there. I feel bad for anyone staying there. The rent always has to be on time but fixing the place can take as long as he wants. I'm surprised he doesn't evict people for looking at them funny. Great location, but it really jist looks bad now.

Let me start by saying that originally Amberley Courts was a nice place to live and I had no problems. The rent was reasonably priced for the location and the original management, Jay, was amazing and very professional. However, this past February they went under new management and it's gone downhill from there. The main office called me and unprofessionally asked for my months rent even though I had ALREADY paid it (speaks to them being unorganized) but the worse part of this experience is that I needed to break my lease because I had to relocate and that's where all the problems started. I informed the office of this in February (as soon as my job told me) and told them that I would be moving near the end of May... plenty of time... but I called them again this week because no one reached out to me since I let them know in February. I let them know again I would need to break my lease. They told me how much I would have to pay and I wanted to see if we could minimize that in any way since I had given them such advanced notice (also, you can't sublease here so that's why I didn't go that route). I had the main manager, Avi, give me a call back so we could discuss and he was EXTREMELY unprofessional. He was yelling at me and wouldn't even let me speak. He kept repeating "I understand you're frustrated but" and then continued to speak. However, I wasn't frustrated I had spoken with the other young lady in the office that morning and she had informed me of everything he was already saying and that's what I was trying to get him to understand. Too bad he was too busy yelling at me and then when I asked him to stop yelling his response was "I won't because now you've irritated me"... extremely unprofessional!! As long as you don't need to break your lease (but who can really predict that) and don't mind being yelled at when you've "irritated him" then you should be okay and Amberley Courts is the place for you! But if you want someplace professional keep looking until they're under new management!

Been living here for over a year now. Everything was great when the previous manager Jay was here, but now the have the rudest most disrespectful person ever in his position. Avi I think? He does not care about the tenants. It's raining in my bedroom right now, something I brought to his attention back in May. It is now July and nothing has been done. I truly regret renewing my lease. I will never do that again. Terrible experience.

Honestly I've stayed with amberley courts for the last 3 going on 4 years this was my first apartment and everything was going okay until they let a new office manager in. His name is Avi, if ur looking for a place to stay with no soul and they feel like ppl don't go through things like layoffs or even loosing a bank card , this is the place for u. Every since this man started working I've heard MULTIPLE complaints about how he speaks to ppl. How he is a racist and how he talks with disrespect. And really... I've dealt with it first hand. This man ALONE makes me rethink why did I EVER renew my lease. I lost my bank card and wasn't able to pay rent on the first waiting for a new card. AVI called my phone yelling and using profanity when I told him to wait for a week for me to get a new card and he would get his rent. Now mind you...I wasn't a month behind or even weeks...I was DAYS behind on my rent. This man called me every name in the book before yelling at me and calling me a low life. It's polish ppl that work for the buildings and u can't even speak to them. They work on things without a notice if your lights or water will be off for the day. Very slow with fixing up the place but very fast wen it comes to the rent. They do NOT care about your circumstances with living there as long as they get their money. If I had to do it allllllll over again I would NEVER give this place a fighting chance.

Dont move here. Listen to me just don't. I feel like when I went on a tour I didn't get a real feel of how it was going to be living at Amberley Courts. The people in the office are cool and do their best. The walls are paper thin. It only took less than a week of me moving in, for me to realize that this lease was going to be long & stressful. The wooded floors squeak too. The rooms are small. The rent is affordable so you get what you pay for. I don't know how serious management take complaints but my submitted complaints continue to be an issue for me (not resolved). There's no electronic way to submit your rent, you have to drop off at the office. Tenants cannot access their own breaker box, only maintenance. Be sure to get an Midlothian sticker in case you cant find parking and need to park on the street. If you don't you will get ticketed. Pros: 1. Parking 2. Washer and drier on site 3. Affordable 4. Maintenance seems reliable Cons: 1. Small in general with barely any counter space 2. Thin walls 3. Crime in near by neighborhoods 4. Not comfortable 5. People. If you know how it is to live in the hood, expect people with that mentality. There are good ppl here too. 6. Laundry room is out dated and dusty 7. The landscape such, doesn't look appealing at all 8. Its a nice neighborhood but these apartments don't look nice on the outside. You've been warned.

I spent half of my day gathering paper work and viewing the apartment. The girl who ran my credit advised me that I had a good chance for getting the one bedroom even though I had problems with my credit. She said that I may be asked to pay an extra month ahead which I was ok with. She said that she would reach out to me the following Monday with the status and she did not. When I called her she simply said oh we can't move forward with your application because of your credit. I'm just letting you all know that the app fee is non refundable and I should have never paid it. She knew that it would be denied and took my money anyway. There are people who move in with their with terrible credit and evictions but for some reason I'm being discriminated against. I make more triple the amount of rent so I want to file a complaint but they are not a BBB company.

The landlord does not communicate for example if the water pipes needs work done they would cut the water off with no notice. Office manager is rarely in the office and maintenance comes in without notice and that's not safe for women and children!

No one answers the phones, you know it's bad when the voicemail box has been full for almost a week. They're very nice and responsive up until you're locked into that lease, any professionalism goes out the window almost immediately. Update: There's time to respond to this but not voicemails, phone calls or emails? To try and pass this review off as nothing more than a "claim" speaks volumes about the people running this complex. Judging by the other complaints, I won't be the first or last to have this problem.

Called for information and got the rudest lady. She wanted no part of answering questions kept referring me to the website I was already on. I definitely don’t want to live there if I get treated like that just trying to get information. Totally unprofessional and just plain rude. Stars 0000000
