Had the Hefeweizen and enjoyed it a lot. Friendly, helpful staff behind the bar. Relaxed atmosphere. The music was maybe a little bit too loud when the room wasn’t very occupied, made it somewhat challenging to have a conversation but not overwhelming.

Wonderful brewery. A warm and welcoming environment. The staff were friendly and willing to take the time to go through all the beers with us. Beer is delicious.

Super low key brewery. Hidden from the street, so look closely or you might miss it. Ample beer selection. Some are good and some are even better. There's a beer for every type of drinker

This place is comfortable and has friendly vibes! Cold,fresh,savory flavors. Balanced, not bitter, the appearance of the beers are beautiful . Clean and clear and taste as good as they look. When Ben is behind the bar your going to be treated like family. He is patient and informative and just a great guy. Come in on Fridays because some vendors will be cooking , or bring your own food!!This place is in the cut (hidden) which makes it even more special, love it!

Emily from Temperance Beer led a beer flight tasting at a client's birthday party in Glenview. Her service was phenomenal and she has a ton of knowledge about craft beers. The beers itself were very flavorful and tasty! We feel very grateful to have Temperance Beer as one of our vendors for parties. The whole team there does such an incredible job. I don't live close but when I find myself in Evanston, I like popping in for a beer. They do great tours! Overall 10/10 service and great beer!

The beer selection is unbelievable. The staff is incredibly helpful friendly and knowledgeable. I was lucky enough to be served by Hannah who was an absolute delight if you’re in, make sure to ask if she’s there say hi and leave her a Big ole tip!

Friendly staff, good beer, good vibe, nice outdoor area, far enough off Dempster that the street noise isn't bad. Good variety on tap, growler fills, merch for sale and 4 packs of beer for sale too.

10/10 place to go with friends to grab an awesome IPA! The staff are kind and personable, has plenty of seating, and they often are hosting events. Temperance has a beer for everyone and some pretty great merchandise. If you're looking to host an event here, I'd say this is the PERFECT spot. Hannah and Ethan are some of the best staffers I've met and are a huge reason I recommend this place!

Been here a few times. Okay beer overall. But LOVED the drop, it's the triple ipa. 10/10. It's nice to have a brewery within walking distance. Nice patio. I like that they've updated the doggy patio a little bit. The inside is cool and the bartenders are very nice.

Great IPA’s. Nice vibe. They always have activities planned, check out the schedule. Ample parking. Nice indoor and outdoor seating. Would be nice if staffs learned to smile and be nice. Besides the staffs, everything else was amazing.

Another "not my first time here, but first Google Review" for this place! Been going here ever since their first day but not as frequently as imagined. They definitely have some unique beers as well as fun events throughout the years, one notably was an outdoor hip hop concert with Twista, Big Boi and Sleepy Brown, which was 1yr post-COVID. Recently went for their whopping 10 year anniversary (Fri 12/15/23) and the beers were absolutely and generously flowing. They opened up the back for a nice 80s cover band concert and also had pop up food and wine vendors. Videos here of that night. Whether for an event or not, this brewery is worth coming back to again and again.

Great vibe- Friendly bartenders, super clean and a good variety on tap. We love to visit the sauna outside during the winters, then go inside for a cold beer/cider.

Comfortable place, but the beer's just not good and WAY overpriced. Not for any kind of serious beer-drinker. More for the North Shore mid-40s chardonnay crowd trying to gain some beer cred.

I’ve lived in Chicago for six years now, but this was my first time visiting Temperance Brewery, and it definitely won’t be the last. Their cider is light and crisp without being overly sweet, the staff is incredible, and the environment is very cute. Highly recommend to any beer or cider enthusiast.

Went over the weekend--read the reviews, wasn't sure but thought just give it a shot! all seriousness--so glad we did. Bartenders were welcoming, knowledgeable, made it easy to find something we both (sister and I) would like, we stayed wayyyy too long but it was worth it. Highly recommend, especially to those who enjoy trying new breweries but sometimes struggle with the "beer buff" attitude i often encounter....if you know what I mean. [splash of red was my beer equal as a coffee/cherry fan] go!!

So this review is more for the Out of Space/Temperance events rather than the brewery/tap room per se, although I'm also not a fan of that. First, if you want to charge $50/head and bring in nationally know acts, please provide a professional sound system. The sound during the Neko Case show might have been the worst I've heard in 40+ years. I don't know how much was the venue and how much the band's sound guy, but since Space often has atrocious sound problems I assume it's at least partly on the venue. Really, entire instruments would just disappear for 30 seconds and then reappear at twice the volume in the middle of the same song. I was standing near the board and people kept yelling at the sound guy trying to explain that no one could hear. All to no avail. But more to the point, what's the purpose of having a show at a brewery if you only provide cans of your beer? It's one thing to pay festival prices for food and draft beer, but $8+tax+tip for a can of Temperance's mediocre brew (with only, what, three choices?) is pretty offensive. At least we didn't have to buy the cans from the regular Temperance staff, who usually act like caricatures beamed in from a scene from High Fidelity. Sigh. Temperance is a waste of a beautiful building and OoS is a waste of good musicians. Updated: A certain amount is forgiven because of the good quality of the sound at the KRS-One show. So maybe it was the band's guy's fault. The review is now purely for the brewery, which is a solid 3 stars.

Nice low key tap room. Very relaxed, clean with friendly, attentive staff. Too much emphasis on IPAs, but that's just my personal preference.
