Pros: - Friendly, helpful staff - Clean facilities and rooms - Comfortable, clean beds - Relaxing, modern decor - Complimentary cookies when you check in that are delicious! - My kids loved the pool! - We felt safe during our stay. - The shower had great water pressure. Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries. Cons: - Our air conditioner was not working properly, so our room was uncomfortably warm. It was late when we noticed that it wasn't working, so we didn't want to deal with it at that point. I did notify the desk attendant when we were checking out. - The pool is nice, but the landscaping and deck furniture could use some TLC. The pergola and courtyard have a lot of potential, but right now, they seem like wasted space. These areas could be great photo opportunities for wedding parties, but not in their current condition. Overall, we had a great experience at this hotel, and we would stay here again!

Staff we dealt with was phenomenal, room is dated and could use some TLC. No fan in the bathroom and vent in bathroom goes into room next door so you hear & smell everything going on there, plus eerie feeling as it feels like someone could be watching. Pool area is amazing, kids loved it

Outside of the hotel looks rundown. Inside reminds you of a prime hotel in the 70's. Fantastic wood work throughout the entire property. Hotel rooms seemed clean, but stains, worn carpet, and old tub made it look run down. Funny part is they still have a pay phone in the lobby along with a 2 line phone next to the toilet in my room. Was a neat hotel to stay in, but definitely didn't feel valued as a diamond member and the internet is really spotty and very slow in my room.

Rooms were quick with the check-in large, very comfortable beds. Staff that I ran into were very friendly. The front desk at check-in was very nice and helpful. If in the area I would stay again.

This hotel is conveniently located in the middle of the three cities I maintain businesses in, so the location is perfect! The rooms, however, are beginning to show their age. I've stayed at this hotel 4 or 5 times and finally happened across a bathroom that had been remodeled, which was very nice. The beds are very comfortable, and having a mini-fridge is great. If only they had Keurig's and microwaves!!! They also lack a "market" like most hotels have, so if you forget a toiletry item or want a late night snack, you're out wandering or door dashing for those items. Having a restaurant attached to the hotel is the ultimate convenience, especially when traveling for work.

Nice hotel. Stayed four nights. More businessmen hotel than family. Breakfast is $16. Great for an expense account. No microwave in the room. Had a room with two double beds. Nice size desk. Plenty of outlets & USB slots. Clean. We were seeing family for Thanksgiving so location was good for us. Our room rate was a good value since we did not need breakfast. Bar and restaurant look very nice. We did not use either.

First time in a long time to stay at 2xtree. Lots of real oak appointment s in the lobby and and craftsman style touches throughout. Used the phone app for checking in and room access. Pretty good for an old timer. Very reasonable price point. This locationoffered the pet friendly perk, which was fine till the little critter next door started singing to us in the AM. Not sure how I feel about that. Didn't get to the updated cocktail lounge/bar in the evening of our stay, but opted for the moderately priced continental bkst in the nearly empty restaurant rather than the buffet in the morning. The selection was reflective of the modest price... you get what you pay for. The setting, however, was soothing with the water feature and subdued colors and unique lighting. Rooms were clean as always, and the pillows and bedding the usual superior quality. Looks like the Double is adopting the high tech touch and minimalist (conservation) with the amenities. Bathroom had the full bottle options in the shower and only one bar of soap at the sink. We can share. Also noticed no glasses at the lav. Still offered the hot morning coffee bar in the lobby (my preference), though my wife was impressed with the taste of the brew-your-own in the room. Hardly a soul around, but the pool and workout room looked inviting, though I didn't have time to partake in either. All in all, a brief but pleasing stay. What I've grown to expect from Doubletree.

Our room had been made up but clearly wasn’t clean. My BF had a terrible asthma attack from there being a cat in the room previously.

We had a very good experience at this hotel. All staff were very accommodating and understanding of our situation. The three main people that helped are Grace, Hope, and Christina. Appreciate you all and making our stay easy and smooth. Also, thank you for the delicious warm cookies. 😊

Really loved the look and feel of this Doubletree. Walking down the hallways was comforting and visually pleasing. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean.

I've stayed other double trees before. This is not up to par at all. The room wasn't stocked with enough towels. The pool had one towel available, and when we tried to get some more from the front desk there was just no one there. There wasn't even a plastic cup in the bathroom. It's clean but other than that I am not impressed. The 2 front desk staff were unhelpful and borderline rude, they made us feel like an inconvenience.

I have averaged over 100 nights/year at hotels (Hilton Garden Inn, Holiday Inn, Marriot, and Sheraton) the last few years and this is the only unit that deserved 5 stars. While it appears to be an older facility, it is well maintained and the staff was attentive, friendly, and helpful

We had a good stay. Clean, spacious room, and kids enjoyed the pool. Every staff member we came across were extremely polite and upbeat. Very welcoming. Thank you

Great shower, firm bed and a nice large “indoor” pool with a deep end. Pool could be cleaner so they could use less chemicals. The pool area is very large and is covered by a “greenhouse” type structure so the temp varies a good deal based on if the sun is out. Very close to a lot of places in Vernon Hills.

Elegant hotel property. Haven't stayed here, but used the nice quiet lounge area as a reading room while waiting for some auto work to be performed nearby. A nice covered pool and several meeting rooms augment the standard hotel amenities. The bar and restaurant are decorated in a high-design standard.

Comforable rooms with an nice bathroom. Great pool area for swimming with a nice Greenhouse looking design, perfect for anyone. Good service also, really helpful when we needed. Was at a fairly strange location. I'd visit again.

We picked this hotel for our guests to stay for our wedding. Big mistake. Communication was non existent. We were promised the shuttles we had paid for would pick our guests up from the wedding only to have the shuttle driver interrupt my last dance with my husband on the dance floor to tell us they would not be coming back for any more guests and left me crying on my wedding day. On top of that, we paid for the hotel bar to stay open for a couple of extra hours only to have the rudest bartenders I have ever met in my life. They literally kicked us out in advance of the time we had paid for and slammed the door on my disabled aunt. Never received one single apology for the appalling lack of customer service. Do not stay here. Horrific.

I spent 4 nights here. No maid service in 4 days. Paid over $500 to stay and the morning of day 4 I went to the desk and asked for a bottle of water. The lady at the front desk said that will be $2. I am an honor member and in recent past I was staying at Hilton product hotels as many as 15 nights a year. When I complained, told her that was absurd said I was a customer and she should be looking for ways to take care of me, speaking to the level of service and asking for and being charged $2.00, the gal said if i spoke to her that way she’d call the police and have me removed. I walked away. This approach to taking care of customers drives people away. I called Hilton and spent 31 minutes on hold after speaking to a ”customer service agent” who was “resolving my issue”. Line went dead, either they hung up or it timed out. What happened to the policy that started “we make it right or your stay is free”. Not interested in a free stay but it’s shame to lose a business customer over a $2 bottle of water. Really makes one rethink who they book and stay with. Hello Marriott

I can't do freezing cold pools and because of that, I would easily give this place 10/10 for a super warm pool. Both times visiting this place no one was even using the pool, but I get the sense this hotel is mostly used for conferences possibly. Regardless, it's clean throughout and although I didn't stay overnight, the rooms looked fine.

The Room was clean and the bed was good, but in addition to minor maintenance issues the bathroom has no towel rack so used towels have to be just tossed somewhere and the in room Heating/AC is setup to always run the blower fan at a constant speed so you may want to bring earplugs if you expect to need Heating/AC. The daytime front desk staff were friendly and did a great job even in unusual circumstances. The Major issue is that Housekeeping will evict you from your room on the final day of your stay at their convenience at least up to 2 hours prior to checkout time, even when there are large 30-40 lb items still in the room which they have to drag across the entire hotel and down multiple floors to the housekeeping rooms possibly to dispose of (There was a language barrier with the housekeeping staff). Between Maintenance and the Front desk I was provided with two different explanations for why this occurred, so beware that leaving your room on your final day may get your possessions taken Edit: Despite what the Hotel's response to my review says, Housekeeping removed a large $600 personal item from my room at around 10AM when the official checkout time is Noon. While it was not immediately visible from the door, A 30-40 pound cart is not something one can accidentally remove from a room. Given the lies in response to my review for events that happened within the past 4 days I have to give a 1-star review based on Service alone.

Nice room overall, great that pets can stay. Was mostly quiet even with Fourth of July. Initially did not have hand soap in the bathroom and had us come to desk instead of someone bringing it to the room. The cups in the workout room were empty.

We have stayed at this hotel several times and every time we have enjoyed it. Their pool is well-maintained and large enough for a decent crowd and always enjoyable for the. The service is top-notch. Ever always greeted with a smile and if we ever have a question they answer it very quickly. We usually come here for a gaming convention and the space provided is ample for everyone there as well as maintain and cleaned very well. The rooms are always very cleaned and even though we get a divided room for the kids to be in one space and for us to be in the other. Everything is right as we expected. Phenomenal all around.

We were a large family group. Everyone was happy, with the facilities. We were able to use the bar area, for a family gathering, one evening. I left a book, in the room; it was found and my cousin picked it up today! Recommend this hotel!!

Talk about a great hotel experience! From the moment you walk in, you are offered champagne before your check-in, then the front desk kindly explained everything to us about the hotel. The rooms and the entire hotel have an amazing aesthetic.

This specific hotel itself was great. Stuff happens and things break. My room was almost $250 for my kids and I. This was supposed to be a special experience and memory for them as it was their first competition . They are young. Didn’t need to purchase a hotel room we don’t live that far but wanted them to be well rested. Both AC units could not keep up with the room. It happens. I didn’t make a big deal about it because I work outside for the most part all year round. Was still trying to make it a positive, memorable experience for my two Littles. Maintenance couldn’t come till 9pm. The room on both sides were close to 80. Staff and management were kind, respectful, and did what they can. Hilton however, their customer service was incompetent, unprofessional, and wasted my time. The hotel itself has no way to help in this situation after you leave because the advance payment was through Hilton. DO NOT PAY IN ADVANCE OR THROUGH HILTON. Pay Doubletree if possible.

Went here for an Amazon interview, beautiful place. Seems like an amazing place to stay. I never stayed here but it would be on my bucket list. To stay at an double tree by Hilton. Super clean. A lot of parking space, an couple of restaurants and gas stations are close by.
