    If you're a light sleeper, look somewhere else. This hotel is right next to a highway which you can hear even from the top floors, i had to request earplugs which it seems a lot of people ask for. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly.

    Breakfast at 8am the eggs on the buffet were dried out. My dinner steak was tough my son's salmon was undercooked and ended up be compensated for the salmon. Vegetables had no seasoning. The bathtub in our room had hair in it. The bed had a dip in it. Won't stay again. We stayed one night. That was enough.

    This property is Five Star All The Way I had the pleasure of dealing with Greg at the front desk who was extremely professional and helped me with every one of my needs. The staff in general were very polite and professional . The rooms we're extremely clean, and I look forward to returning to this property, thank you very much for everything

    Good rooms. But the breakfast wasn't good. Even after paying for the breakfast there were no options except bread and fruits. Not even eggs.

    Our room had ants all over the carpet and crawling all over the desk and bed. When I reported the issue I was told they would send someone to spray the room down UNBELIEVABLE I declined I asked to get a new room as I had a child in the room. The second rooms bathroom was not clean it had hair all over the floor that I picked up with some tissue. I was very disappointed with the stay.

    We came here for our grandsons bootcamp graduation. The hotel is clean, comfortable, easy access to the base as well as many restaurants in the area. Also, we felt safe here. I would stay again.

    HORRIBLE noise from the highway. Avoid staying here. And Hilton, please don’t write a canned response saying, “we hope to make your next stay better.” Isolate your windows! Or at least put HVAC units where you can keep a fan running. Is that too much to ask??

    I read the reviews before I booked this place and I’d first like to address two of the complaints from earlier reviews. One was that the highway was noisy. Yes it is, they typically are. I knew that when I booked it because I LOOKED at the MAP on my phone. If you’re traveling around here for business, there are no other hotels that aren’t close to the highway. So drive 20 minutes to another hotel or download a free app on your phone that has white noise. Common sense solves a lot of problems. The other complaint was about a wedding?! Seriously, this hotel is in what I would describe as an office park. They kill it with the corporate business patrons and do a phenomenal job. Hotels have certain specialty. Refer back to my common sense statement. Anyway, I had a lovely experience here. Check in was smooth, food was actually good for a hotel and everyone went above and beyond to make my stay pleasant. HUGE shout out to the cleaning and maintenance staff. By far one of the cleanest rooms I’ve ever stayed in. And the property is beautiful. Love the day lily’s in the courtyard. 10/10 would stay here again.

    I want to start by celebrating and acknowledging two specific staff members...Carolina and Nikki! We just stayed here this past weekend as my son was graduating from US Navy boot camp. We had THE BEST service at the bar and restaurant by Carolina...she had such a nice attitude, very helpful, was very efficient...even when she had a HUGE table to wait on. She made my vodka/cran/pineapple juice to perfection too! She was such a ray of sunshine!!! Also, Nikki....she went above and beyond! She waited on us for breakfast and was so helpful, kind and simply perfect! But she saw my family and I outside taking photos of/with my son and she came over and offered to take a group, family photo. Gah!!!! It melted my heart! Everyone here was just amazing and so professional! The rooms were clean, the lobby has great spaces for meeting up and hanging with large groups and the location is so convenient. If I ever make it back to this area, I would DEFINITELY stay here again!!! Y'all made us feel right at home! Thank you!!!!

    I always stay at Hilton properties and found this one to be representative of the brand. Our rooms were clean and comfortable and a welcome respite from a very long road trip.

    Customer service from the entire team was the best hospitality of any hotel I've stayed at. Rooms were spotlessly clean. AC worked well! (it was a high of 92 degrees & humid) Breakfast can be added when you book the room and it was worth it. Location was close to the highway. The pool was a solid amenity especially early in the morning. I would absolutely stay here again. Thank you everyone for literally being my shelter from the storm.

    The accommodations here are always fantastic. The staff is amazingly warm and helpful. The ability to check in using the app, choose a room and have a digital key via smartphone makes the process seamless and smooth.

    Were here for a wedding and this was a great location for a wonderful stay. It was quiet, clean and Staff were friendly. Will definitely come back.

    Absolutely the best, all inclusive place to stay in Lake Forest that will not break the bank. Pool, workout facility and spacious, modern, clean rooms for the win.

    The location was good for my needs but the rooms Temperature was very off. I set it to cool but the room maintained a hot temp. That was uncomfortable and I know it's not just this room (I and business associates have the same issue every time). The staff was Friendly and accommodating and the room and hotel itself was very clean. Also nice and next to a walking trail too!

    Connor from Corporate Sales and the hotel staff on the premises were fantastic. Greg at the front desk was so friendly and the housekeeping staff were phenomenal. I appreciate everyone who made our experience so positive. We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn for our wedding week and weekend. Connor upgraded us to the large suite at a discounted rate which was so kind. The room was cozy and super clean. The bathroom was huge which was amazing with a separate big tub from the large shower. The vast majority of our guests stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn as well and had only positive things to say. We really appreciate everyone that works at the HGI in Lake Forest/Mettawa because you have a great operation!

    I will stay here every time! Access to train into Chicago was an easy, short Uber/Lyft. The hotel is super clean. Great bed for a long time stay. The area is clean, safe, and pretty. Lots of trees. The staff was great. I stayed for 9 day's. Absolutely one of my top 3 hotel's and location. I travel a lot for work.

    The staff was absolutely above and beyond amazing. Their kindness and hospitality really made a difference. Everyone is fantastic! Specially the front desk clerk at check in, and the woman running the Continental breakfast.

    Very clean hotel. Friendly. Lots of free parking. Safe neighborhood. Super close to freeway entrance and exits. Shopping, restaurants, and cinema super close by. Costco and Costco gas 1 minute away.

    I enjoyed my stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Lake Forest but it could have been a little better in my opinion. For starters their pillows are horrible to sleep on. We literally had to use all 3 per bed to attempt to get comfortable. I felt the continental breakfast should have come with the stay. Everything had a charge to it and paying $50 for me and son's breakfast and then dinner was not what I'm use to being from the south. I did love how quickly the staff cleaned the walkways and parking lot. It really shows how northern cities can function in snow.

    The customer service was amazing from start to finish!! From check-in, Greg and Hunter were friendly and so welcoming. We checked in late so we decided to have dinner and drinks at the lobby restaurant. Kim was our bartender and server and she was top-notch! Drinks were great and dinner was delicious! The manager Chrizel even stopped by our table to greet and welcome us. The next morning, we went down for breakfast and Nikki was our server. She was so sweet, pleasant, and charming. Breakfast was again delicious! As far as aesthetics, the hotel is lovely. Clean and well kept. I will definitely be staying here again!

    It was clean but nothing fancy. Bed was comfy but room was hot. Had the fan on high the whole time and it took 2 days to cool 3 degrees.

    9/24/22 Future Brides and Grooms: if you are planning on blocking rooms at Hilton Gardens in Mettawa - take a moment to read this review. Unfortunately, our two night  stay at Hilton Gardens on 9/22 and 9/23 was very disappointing.  As Hilton Honor members, I have  had the pleasure of staying at Hilton properties that far exceed competing hotels. There were multiple issues with guest  not showing or being dropped from our room block  (guest who had confirmation numbers).  This required several trips to the hotel, and last minute  emails to Christina the week of the wedding. There was NOTHING to celebrate and/or acknowledge  the bride and groom, unless you would count a sign posted at the front desk.  A turn down service the night of the wedding, sweet note, chocolates., small bottle of champagne. Clean towels when requested. The bride (my daughter) asked for a refresh on her suite (which was used for hair and makeup)  upon leaving to attend the ceremony and reception. Nothing. Not even a replenish on towels or garbage removal  of the three tiny garbage cans. The elevators do not go up to the 3rd or 4th floor If you are on the second floor. Hilton solution: you are forced to go back down to the first floor to gain access to the 3rd and 4th floor. Two old luggage carts. Our senior guest have much difficulty in managing the wheels that are misaligned. The ice machine didn't work on the second  floor. Garbage littered the guest floor  hallways  all hours of the day and  night. The hotel itself and rooms are outdated. There is a standard  of cleanliness one would expect, and this was not met. This is unfortunate. At the time  we toured the hotel over a year ago, its was not a "pet friendly" hotel. We were told by a former employee who worked with us during the planning stages (Caren) that this would soon change. When I made the two night reservatio in early August, I shared with  the hotel that I had a small dog. I was informed at the time of the reservation the block charge was 117.00 a night. When I inquired if there was a charge for my small dog, I was told, "no, you are all set." 9/24 I checkout  at 1:47 PM. I requested a paper copy. I reviewed the paper copy.  The 117.00  rate reflected the  block  rate for our wedding party. At 2:27 PM,  I  received an email with two separate invoices. One listed the amount I verified at checkout at 1:47 pm. The  second invoice now listed a "pet friendly" charge of 75.00. What happened? Quite simply Hilton placed an unauthorized charge on my account. There was never a  discussion about my dogs presence adding an additional charge . I immediately called the front desk.  The front desk clerk  was unable to understand my concerns or arrive at a solution for my concerns. I was informed the manager would contact me on Monday. 9/25 There are two many great hotels close to Mettawa Hilton Gardens. Don't settle on the most important  day of your lives Bride and grooms beware!!!! Shame  on  you, Hilton!

    Worst value I’ve ever experienced in a hotel. Given the room rate I very incorrectly assumed an experience I am accustomed to when I travel. This place was the level of a $110/night room but charged $260/night. Extremely loud and hard to sleep. Dirty rooms and mediocre common areas. The only good news is you can leave quickly thanks to its location 50 yards from a major expressway. Anyone giving more than 2 stars obviously doesn’t get out much.
