Our server was awesome. The food was quite disappointing. 😞 We trekked half an hour because of all the high ratings and was not rewarded. *Duck wings ~ 2/5 dry & a bit salty, not much flavor *Frites ~ 4/5 garlic aioli *Burrata ~ 3/5 tomato jam was ok along with large serving of the cheese but only 2 slices of bread halved so felt a little imbalanced * Margherita flat bread ~ 4/5 thin crust with tomatoes and basil 🌿 no one fought for it but the crust was well made *Brussels sprouts ~ 4/5 nicely done with balsamic vinaigrette * mushroom ravioli ~ 3/5 hard pasta and salty * chicken parmigiana ~3/5 the pasta under the chicken was good with plenty of butter and cheese flavor, the large breaded slabs on top were hard and tasted nothing like a parmigiana * Duck confit risotto ~ 3/5 If they shredded the duck and a lot salt, this may be yum * short rib with cauliflower faux potato ~ 2/5 the faux potato was tasty, the beef didn’t require a knife, tasted like overcooked stewed meat but at least it wasn’t salty. * Gelato ~ 4/5 standard * meatball cheese cake ~ 4/5 the presentation was great, the cheesecake inside the hard chocolate shell was not too sweet to complement the jam and shortbread. * non alcoholic drinks were cute Party of 6 w/tax+tip, it was a $285 lesson 😆

Wow, the food was incredible! The absolute star of the meal was the seafood brodetto. The seafood was fresh, the tomato sauce was delicious, and the risotto at the base of the dish was decadent. I'll be dreaming about this entree for weeks! The outdoor seating area was completely covered, very nice and extremely comfortable. The desserts were a very fun and delicious conclusion to the dinner. I can't wait to return and try more menu options!

Pretty pricey but delicious! Pasta plates were definitely on the smaller side but the cocktails were really good so still recommend! Everyone really liked their dessert but the mushroom ravioli was definitely the winner for me.

After having dinner in downtown Libertyville on a cold evening, we decided to goa different bar to celebrate a special occasion. As we took a stroll down Main street, we came across the Main Street Social. From the outside, we saw that the bar side was packed. It appeared to be a great place to check out as it looked like it had a warm welcoming atmosphere. It also gave off the impression of a tad more upscale vibes. With wine bottles decorated on the back walls, nice light fixtures, with a large bar towards the front of the establishment, this definitely was a higher quality aesthetic. As we entered, there was a large group of people seated in the front. It appeared a large group of friends were getting together for a celebration of their own. Something that’s pretty cool with the Main Street Social is that reservations can be made. Once we were able to get a table to sit, we ordered a martini. The ratio between fruit and liquid was good. This warm fancy wine bar was definitely a little more expensive with their menu. It is fine dining afterall and I’d suggest stopping by if ever in the area. If you’re looking for a place to host a social gathering, this is a good option to have for consideration.

Main Street Social is a smaller restaurant in the heart of Libertyville on Milwaukee Avenue. Walking in all you can see are people, people everywhere. Its always a promising sign when there are people everywhere. The expectations didn’t disappoint. The food came out quick, hot and fresh with a more Italian-American style for dishes. 12 oz. Cheshire pork chop was I think the best pork chop I’ve ever had in my life. It was so perfectly cooked and garnished. The meat comes with small chunks of bacon that surround the plate, the bacon was around half to a third inch thick. The drinks vary from not being able to pick a flavor to strong punching cocktails. Overall I’m absolutely going to return to Main Street social hopefully soon.

Main Street Social is one of our favorites (and the staff know that about us because we are regulars). We no longer have to order our favorite drink, the Lower Wacker Drive, because everyone knows it's our usual. We highly recommend if you are looking for a fresh gin cocktail. The menu does change up regularly, but there are some staples and a lot have become real favorites. The menu is perfectly "sized" with plenty of options, without overwhelming you with choices. The pork shank is a relatively new addition, but it is absolutely divine. Other favorites include the skirt steak, short rib, basil cavatelli, and the lobster capellini. The saffron sauce with the mussels makes that appetizer well worth ordering. The staff are great, the food comes out fast and it's a somewhat upscale place for the burbs that doesn't feel too stuffy. The dining room can sometimes be a bit loud when it's busy, but there is the option to sit outside too (and during colder weather there's a heated tent). Don't miss brunch either. The breakfast pizza is amazing! Overall, Main Street offers a great meal, excellent cocktails, and is a place worth returning to again and again!

Having been in the restaurant business 40 years, I'm not an easy customer. Having said that, our experience at Main Street Social Saturday was extraordinarily spectacular. The bartender was spot on in terms of her staying in constant contact with us as she executed her many other duties and fellow customers skillfully. The cocktail menu was very inventive. The food was perfectly cooked and served by Caesar. To pick out but a few of our entrées, Short rib Bolonaise was excellent with flawlessly cooked pasta. Lobster Grilled Oysters, as good as I can get anywhere in New Orleans. If space permitted, I would say the same of our other entrées, appetizers and desserts. If I had gone in there looking to find fault, I found none. This is a place worth the 2.5 hour round trip it will take us to get there again from Milwaukee. But given the inconsistency in today's restaurant experiences, I will make that trip gladly, for this place is a sure thing.

So sick of paying a ton of money for shockingly average food. Ordered two different pasta dishes - short rib pasta wasn’t short rib. It was bolognese - clearly the taste and texture of ground beef. Sausage rigatoni came out looking like it was sitting under a heat lamp for 10 minutes. Sausage didn’t taste fresh and sauce had no flavor. Just bad - and for $25 each. Have to do way better at these prices.

Food was amazing and portion sizes were perfect. We ordered the crab cake for an appetizer and my bf said it may have been the best crab cake he's had in his life. It was so so good! I ordered the gnocchi carbonara and the flavors were perfect! The gnocchi were perfectly fluffy and soft. The egg yolk on top was a nice surprise and really added to the amazingly cheesy sauce. My bf ordered the mushroom ravioli and he loved them. You can absolutely tell the pasta is made fresh in house. I took a star off service because right after we were sat, I was greeted by a worker (not our server) and he greeted me and my bf by calling us gentlemen. I'm a tall women, but it was still a bit insulting to be called a "gentleman."

Amazing food! Very fresh. Creative flavors and ingredient combinations, and delicious. Or server Julio was efficient, friend and knowledgeable about the dishes. Atmosphere was informal and comfortable. We had: - the Berkshire Meatball - the homemade pomodoro sauce was delicious. - Chicken Parmigiana - vodka sauce was perfect - Just the right touch of cream - not over-creamy like many other places. - Sea bass - the celeriac puree nicely balance the perfectly cooked fish. (though the menu listed an olive sals verde) mine had an orange colored sauce which was delicious).

Service (Amber) was great! Got an outside patio table. Sea bass tasty (small piece). Lemon bad. Celery Purée very tasty. Pork shank very good. Ordered side of broccolini which were way too burned for such delicate veggie. Got a limoncello which was disappointing, nowhere near to the real Italian one. Gelato (vanilla and pistachio) was good.

Great food, good drinks and nice ambiance. The drinks are overpriced and we’re on the light side. I wish we could had gotten a complementary dessert like most restaurants do since we were celebrating a birthday! We ordered the pork belly as appetizer and the short ribs, pork shank and pork chops. We ordered the tiramisu and the bread pudding for dessert. Overall the food was very good, however the pork chop was slightly undercooked.

2nd time was even better! Lively atmosphere with awesome food and service. Mussels is Safron, Beets Carpacio and Lobster Capellini. Finished off with Cookies and Cream Gelato and Sorbet. All excellent!

The food and the service is amazing! I came here for a date night and the ambience, the music, the aesthetic were all just perfect. Pricing was also not bad at all considering how great everything was. My only critique and the reason for 4/5 is that it was a little too packed. Granted I went on a weekend night which I totally get but even the layout of the tables was too close together. Hopefully this is a sign they’re popular and doing really well!! I’m definitely coming back!

Great experience. Menu is a bit small but the items they did have were amazing. Drinks were great and strong. Waiter was great. He joked around and made good selections for us as well. Hope his fantasy football team survived past this week.

We ordered 3 meals and 1 salad for $110. Not worth the price. The chicken was completely dried out and the small potatoes had zero seasoning. 2 of the entrees had a small side item and that's it. Honestly, you could get better quality from a boring chain restaurant for 30% less cost.

Main Street Social is arguably THE best restaurant in Libertyville. The food - never disappoints (which is impressive, given the menu variety, and how often they incorporate seasonal specials). I've never gone wrong; which is comforting knowing how hard it can be to branch out and try new plates when you KNOW a tried and true dish is available. Check the photos if you don't believe me! The service - professional and always feels like you're being cared for by a veteran wait staff. We've been here easily 20 times since they opened 5 years ago and only once did we have a small misunderstanding with a new host regarding our reservation, which was quickly rectified by the management. The ambiance - has something for everyone. Whether you want to watch the game at the bar with your friends, or enjoy a nice date night, or hold a semi-private dinner for a special occasion; you can find it here. Duke and his team clearly know how to run a great restaurant and continually deliver a top-tier experience every time.

Right off the bat the menu looks mouth watering. Walking in, the decor was col, staff was friendly and spot plus the food tasted even better. My date and I only had 3 items off the menu (plus great drinks) and they were fantastic...octopus was my favorite!! We'll have to go with a larger next time so we can try more things! Only minor drawback is that it is very loud when it's crowded. Great problem to have though.

Absolutely lovely! Got seated in a less nice area outside from the actual outside area with lighting but it’s gorgeous and the drinks are fantastic. The basil cavatelli is gorgeous.
