First time there, walked in seated right away, no one in the place practically. Waited 15 minutes for a server who never came then we asked to order and the wait staff was kind of disturbed. We ordered Fajitas and they came instantly. We thought Wow that was fast. They gave us some chips and salsa then when they ran out, they took the basket and never returned with more ever the whole meal. The FOOD WAS TERRIBLE DO NOT EAT HERE. They fed us for 23 dollars each meal, 4 small recooked pieces of steak and 5 tiny pieces of recooked over cooked chicken with a bunch of over cooked dripping in grease vegetables that looked deep fried over cooked and reheated from lunch. Not enough to eat and i was put off and could not eat the grease laden food. We will NEVER go there again and I never complain. That was not the worst part, the worst part comes at the end when we pay and the bill says CASH TIP PLEASE in RED PEN and if you read the bill they make YOU the patron pay for their 401k 2.5% of your bill to their employees collectively. Flabbergasted is not the word for this is a terrible restaurant. We suspect they served us lunch food at dinner since it looked so over cooked and old. We did not complain as they do not care.

Stopped in for some Margaritas and apps at the bar. Service was prompt and attentive. Mango habanero margarita is delicious! Had the flautas and shrimp plate. Both were fresh and prepared well, but lacked a bit of salt to make the difference. Overall, good experience. The restaurant was REALLY warm, though. I had to step out twice. 🫤

Tasty food, we loved the little patio setup they have for outdoor dining. It was a tad chilly but we understand that’s what we signed up for wanting to eat outside. The Fiesta Nachos were very delicious, we added some chicken to it and it really have it a nice tang to the appetizer. I went with the Trio enchiladas and my personal favorite was the red one. It has a great blend of flavors and spices. The mango Daiquiri was refreshing and very delicious. The steak had great seasoning and was delicious too. Service was great no issues really. A nice spot for dinner in the heart of Libertyville.

Went here a few weeks ago with my wife. The food was superb. The chips and dippings were very tasty to get started. The steak tacos were freshly cooked and satisfying. So, why only 4 stars? Our waitress was rude! Upon handing me the card reader she stood and watched me as I was about to enter a custom tip. She then hit the back button and asked me to select one of the three options (15%, 20%, 25%) after an automatic 25% gratuity was ALREADY added to my bill! How rude!!! She then scoffed when I refused to give one of the pre-selected amounts after the 25% was already added to my bill. Great food but the wait staff definitely needs to be educated on "customer service" !

Food was about the same as any Mexican restaurant we've eaten in. Our waiter was great. What wasn't great was being forced to pay for their employee benefit plan on top of higher than normal food prices. Adding 2.5% to my bill? Just price your food accordingly and stop playing games with prices hoping customers won't notice because they do. We eat in downtown Libertyville quite often. But there won't be a return trip here.

It has been a few years since we've been here. It was my mind 80th birthday so we brought her here as it's one of her favorites. Food was fantastic. Super friendly service. My daughter has peanut and tree nut allergies, they were able to accommodate her no problem. My favorite drink, Mango Habanero Margarita, as good as it sounds.

I highly recommend their barbacoa and picadillo tacos! All tacos I've tried were fully loaded with meat. The beef in the barbacoa is super juicy and soft and really tasty! The same goes with the picadillo. Funny thing is, I actually ordered al pastor but was served with the picadillo instead. I'm so glad I just let it pass and didn't asked for it to be replaced anymore. Best decision I've made that day. Try their cocktails as well. I'm not a hard drinker so their 28 Mile Mule is a bit too strong for me. But it was still good esp after some melted ice lol. And they also serve free nacho chips with salsa.

We didn't know anything about this place but decided to go in because we happened to be close by. So glad we did! Had the Trio Enchiladas and they were amazing! Plus, this is the first Mexican restaurant I've ever been to that had a couple IPA's on tap. Love it!

This place was so great! We were there with someone in a wheelchair and they were so accommodating and welcoming to us despite our special needs. The food was outstanding. Parking in this little area isn't easy to find and we had to walk a couple blocks but absolutely worth it!!

Vegetarian here- food tasted great! The chips are amazing in quality! Not over salted, had a nice crisp but soft enough so it won’t injure your mouth! The white queso was good too! Got the enchiladas with the green sauce, cheese and veggiewi mix and it was all very tasty! Our server Luis was also very prompt/attentive! Will definitely be coming back

We like this place they have an amazing avocado dip that they make fresh for you. They’re fish tacos are very good. We had a female waitress who I thought may have worked in the bar area who is absolutely horrible. There was a male waiter, who then came and took care of us through the rest of our meal and he was absolutely amazing. You take one last sip and he’s already got you another drink that’s big in my book.

Great Mexican dishes, with some truly unique options. Everything we had was very good, even the Margaritas (which they have some fun flavors).

We sat outside and that was nice. The staff was friendly and the service was good. The food was meh at best. The tacos were the most American Mexican food I’ve ever had. Chopped iceberg lettuce on top and diced tomatoes that was it. It was so bland. I was not impressed and won’t be back. I only gave it two stars because if the staff.

Great Mexican food. The salsa is one of the best I have ever had, delish! Service was fast and the place was busy. Maria was fast efficient with a smile on her face. Highly recommend. The burrito was huge. Saved half for lunch.

The Steak Quesadilla was the star as our appetizer, but we also ordered the Flautas & Al Pastor Tacos as our main entrees. The Mango Classic Margarita was tasty, but could’ve been a tad stronger🤗

The food and drinks are usually on point other than my last visit. I like the margaritas, but the last time we ordered 2 margaritas, they were 3/4 ice and the drink was filled to where the ice was. So there was basically 3 sips in it altogether. I even mentioned how I was disappointed in the drinks 3 times and the server just ignored it and asked if we wanted another. My girlfriend's meal was great, by mine was an unusually small portion which I've had before and it wasn't that way. So $80 dollars on one good meal, one half meal, and 2 empty drinks. Pretty disappointed in my last visit.

Had reservations and were seated promptly. Fun atmosphere - decor and music. Staff was efficient but perfunctory. Had to ask for refills on chips and drinks. The guacamole was good - Chile Relleno, chimichanga, enchiladas, all the food was good. Restroom was tidy. Frozen margaritas were yummy- ordered the large size and it was very generous.

Sabrina and the awesome crew at Casa Bonita catered our wedding on 5.21.22. The food was phenomenal and the service was first class. I can’t thank them enough making our day special and full of great food. Sabrina was a dream to work with. Always offered support and was always available to answer our questions. Highly recommend!!

I got the taco dorados with chicken tinga. It was really good. Not too spicy, but the salsa still kicks. This is a meal you can split because it’s about 2 portions. Very chill atmosphere too.

I've eaten here quite a few times over the years and never loved it. The food always seemed to miss the mark. It was the "white people" Mexican restaurant, which should be my kind of place being super white. At any rate, there were better Mexican options in town so the only positive here was the location and atmosphere which, to be fair, are pretty great. That being said, the last couple of times I've been here, most recently in the last week, the food was so much better. I don't know if they've changed the menu or the cooks or what, but I'll definitely not avoid Casa Bonita in the future. It was nice to sit outside under their heaters on a 50 degree sunny day and enjoy drinks and food.

Great choices if tequilla. Really liked their house blend. I sat at the bar and the guy bartender was great and knowledgeable as hell. The food was delicious. I tried the fish tacos. Damn they were bomb. Had to try the margaritas as well. Yea i will 100% be back and bring friends with.

Coffee and chocolate churros were a nice treat. Tasty watermelon margarita with balanced flavor and not too sweet. Fresh guacamole was creamy and tasty. Clean and cheerful environment with attentive staff and excellent service. A consistently great experience each time.
