I have been here a couple of times over the years and for the most part I would say it has been solid. If I am going to have authentic Mexican food I prefer the small restaurants, but in a pinch this will do. My buddy and I got grilled fish tacos and enchiladas which were pretty good. The tacos could use less slaw and some more sauce but overall they were good. The chips and salsa that they bring to the table is pretty good and easy to fill up on so take it slow with those. If we're meeting up again in the area it will be on our radar.

We are totally disappointed, we waited for over 1 hour just for fajitas. The waiter kept telling us “it will be here shortly”. It is better to go to Taco bell than to go to Uncle Juliios to wait for over 1 hour just for 2 orders of fajitas. They don’t even apologized. 👎👎👎

Service was really nice, as was the entire vibe of the restaurant. Definitely a cool place to hangout and spend time with friends and family. The food, however, was eh. The steak fajitas were a little bland, the rice had been left in the microwave too long and as such hard, the tortillas were a little undercooked and just not good ones. The chicken and fresh guacamole was really good though! The food overall wasn’t bad but considering the price, yea not worth it.

We absolutely love dining here! My personal favorite dishes are the fish tacos and shrimp tacos. If you like spicy, I would suggest the El Hefe margarita. They recently added the Tuesday table taco bar and we loved it!

First time here since 2019 due to the pandemic. 4 stars on our prior visits, loved the chocolate pinada. They were understaffed just like everyone else. Our server was very nice and did their best. The food was no where near as good compared to prior visits. My enchilada resembled the texture of hard cardboard and was cold. Guacmole was was the worst I’ve ever had, sent it back after a few bites. Hope they get it back together and find more help or they will be closing soon.

The service was great, but they didn't have many of the selections I would think would be at a Mexican restaurant 😞 . I ordered street tacos.. that is merely a snack.. the holiday cranberry margarita was definitely a hit.

Dine in ordering Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp, Classic Taco Salad, and Beef Enchiladas. The food was very well prepared, original presentation and quick service. The restaurant lacks atmosphere related to the type of food.

Soggy tortillas and brown avocados, I spent $25 for a meal I literally threw away... it's great if you go in but for goodness sakes DO NOT do take out

We have been coming to Uncle Julio’s since 2002 and the Vernon hills location since it opened. We are not as big of fans since they changed the menu years ago but they still do the table side guac and the bacon wrapped habanero shrimp. Those two combined with the margaritas is what we continue to come once a year for. Those should be your go tos.

First time coming here. My family ordered kids taco she loved it. My oldest had enchiladas chicken. Wife had chicken fajitas she love the homemade tortilla. I had the steak fajitas I would say one of the best steak fajitas in 20 years of eating steak across America. If your hungry and near a Uncle Julios stop in eat. I will be back here to try everything. Bravo Uncle Julio's.

Did take out. Curbside pickup was very prompt. The quesadillas were amazing! Wouldn’t recommend the enchiladas, the tortilla wasn’t soft and the sauce wasn’t flavorful. The chips were good and thin, the salsa was watery and not much tomato flavor. The prices were a little steep for Mexican food… but some of the menu items were quality enough to be worth it. Overall would recommend checking out.

First time here but been to other Uncle Julio's locations. Not a super fan of this sort of chain but thought would give it another try. Definitely like the vibe of their restaurants and enjoy "The Swirl" drink. Our server was nice one minute and cold the next, on and off, hard to get a feel. We had a six adult and two child group. Although the kids' meals came out in a reasonable time, the rest of our orders were quite a wait. Kind of expect tortilla chips and salsa on deck at their restaurants but also had to wait around for it and when we asked another server to bring us another batch, our main server was a bit annoyed when they came with their own basket later on. Would have let them know we already asked another server but they were nowhere to be found. Anyway, the Manager was nice and checked in on us. Enough about the service and onto the food. I ordered the Combination Dinner in the past and was happy with that but wanted to try something else. Pictured here is their (2) Fajita Chicken Soft Taco Plate. It was ok and nothing to wow over. Rice was salty and the hot sauce was very spicy. Like other Uncle Julio's locations, I don't think I'd come back for food, but would at least grab a drink.

Absolutely the worst customer service we experienced! To start off i wanted to celebrate my wife’s birthday and mentioned this when I made reservations as well as when we arrived. The host mentioned he had the perfect waiter to assist us. Well this waiter is either over worked or hand picks who he feels like deserves the good service. We were ignored and given horrible service, my wife had to get up and look for service several times due to missing items we ordered. Never again!

Ugh probably the worst enchiladas I’ve had in my life. The tortilla was so hard and stale. The beef was horrible. The cheese was processed cheese you would get with theater nachos. I was so disappointed. I really hope they make this right because I’m sad paying for those enchiladas.

The wait time is horrible! There’s no communication from the hostesses. They use a text system to notify when tables are ready, they’ll sign you up & never use the system to notify you. Walk in to check after waiting an addition 15 minutes of the expected wait time 30 minutes. Hostess tell me it’s another 1 hour wait. And then didn’t communicate if that applied to me since I was already waiting 45 minutes. Said it’s another 15 minutes after waiting 10 minutes for an update. Then sat 5 different parties after telling me I was up next. Waited another 20 minutes still wasn’t sat. Eventually my party of 2 left because we couldn’t wait any longer to be seated since I’m pregnant and was starving at this point. Manager came over to help and wasn’t no help to the hostess that couldn’t keep up with the wait times or availability of tables when there where over 8 visible tables open. This was my first time attempting to try this location & I will not be back.

Great location. Nice outdoor space . Definitely I like fresh fruits and vegetables decor station when you enter the restaurant. Great guacamole and enchiladas. I ordered steak strips tacos with rice and beans what I really enjoyed it . My wife complained about strange taste of shrimps in tacos what she ordered. Good selection in Taqueria . Mexican desert melted my wife disappointment.

I visited for my birthday. The fajitas were delicious and filling. The chicken and salsa were fresh. The portion size was for 2 in my opinion. I took the rest for a carry out. My server was attentive. You can't go wrong with Uncle Julio's.

Two stars because it has no outdoor view to dine outside you have two choices a dirty parking lot or the construction site that is going on at the mall. When we were sited inside they put us on a corner where it was so boring that my partner said let’s just leave… I requested a different table and told us that they were reserved ( my girlfriend put a reservation 8 hrs in advanced and she was no given any choice) after all the drama they gave us a table by the bar no too bad. The food was delicious so were the margaritas. When we left about 1 and 1/2 hr later there were so many empty tables that make me wonder where were those people who had reserved those tables the denied us? I think they can do better with they way they treat customers who are no white because we do have other choices and I for one I’m never going back there.

I liked it. The server was very polite, the menu is simple and short but definitely enough to choose something. Food came out quickly although it wasn’t busy at the time i was there. Everything tasted fantastic and looked fresh and just made. None of that microwave warmed stuff. And also salsa and chips were exquisite. Probably the best tortilla chips I’ve ever tasted, thin and crispy. Salsa was also fantastic not too hot, just right. Would recommend this restaurant to try it.

The filet fajitas were yummy! I don't know if it is always like this but there were plenty of tables available. Service was pretty good. Margarita was delicious

Had a wonderful lunch starting with light tortilla chips with a smokey salsa to die for. I wish they would bottle it. Added a side of guacamole. We had for the main course, carnitas tacos and chicken quesadillas. All topped off with strawberry lemonade.
