I December, I was noticing my 23 lb tabby wasn't eating (flashing warning sign #1?!?) and seemed to be in pain while attempting to use his litter box. When I called the answering service, not only did I get an immediate return phone call from Dr. Setlock (who was the kindest, genuine and most professional male veterinarian I had ever spoken to), but I actually received a phone call at 7:30 am the following morning from the clinic, wanting to make sure that Keiko was being helped. I have never seen the clinic dirty or have smelled that "wet dog" odor. Every staff member has always been professional and courteous and believe it or not- PLEASANT! I have never had a problem scheduling an appointment and I have NEVER had to wait more than 10 minutes before any of my animals were seen. In any event, it turned out , as it turned out, Keiko was quite sick and needed surgery on his urethra and he had several bladder stones that needed to be removed. Ruth Helen Wolf was the ONLY clinic that genuinely cared about helping my cat and didn't mention money, fees or costs & charges ONCE! With honesty and candor, I explained to Dr. Herron that I am the sole-single provider of four (4) children and recently started a new job and didn't know how I was going to pay for their services. Dr. Herron, didn't bat a eye and continued to explain every procedure and test that needed to be performed. She was more concerned that my questions were answered and my cats needs were met rather than discussing money, payment plans or credit card applications. Words cannot express how grateful I am to Dr. Herron, because she spent a LOT of time with me and not once did I feel like I was "holding her hostage" or keeping her from her other patients (although I was!). Keiko stayed for 8 days and I was constantly getting warm, positive and loving phone calls from the staff, as they, as well, made sure that I understood Keiko's progress and recovery process. I felt 100% confident that my "5th child" was being cared for and most of all, being loved. The staff members would call me to tell me that hat they didn't want to see him go! in conclusion I received a phone call at 9:00 pm from the clinic the night before I was planning on bringing Keiko home and instantly I thought the worst! It was Dr. Herron calling me to tell me that they just had a board meeting and she wanted me to know that it was a unanimous vote to have Keiko's medical procedures and medications paid in full from "The Daisy Fund". The Daisy Fund is a charity organization that helps pay/donate funds for families in crisis who are unable cover the medical costs needed to treat their pet. To this day, I am so very grateful for the love and the best-in-class services my loving cat, Keiko received. Thank you to EVERYONE at Ruth Helen Wolf Animal Hospital for all of the love and care we ALL received. TO this day, Keiko is now 19 lbs and healthy and active as ever!

I've been bringing my Terrier mix here for years. The veterinarians always take very good care of Lucky - probably one of the reasons she has made it to 15 years and is still going strong. Waits are short and it is pretty easy to get an appointment. They always find time to see your pet if it is an emergency, even if you haven't scheduled an appointment.

The technicians and vets are great! It’s very easy to get in, they’re always quick and take great care of the kitties, and they’re very responsive over the phone too! They send reminders for shots and annual things to make sure you can’t forget either! The kitties are always happy there :)

Very nice staff first of all. I went in there intending to get my dog Dr. Karen checked my dog Tobi out, and stated he really had good teeth and not really needing a cleaning yet. Suggested I get some bad breath spray, to address my concern with Tobi. I needed some vaccines that Tobi was overdue with. Wasn't much, so I agreed. I already was impressed with this place as they were transparent with prices and what I was looking for. I felt they were not trying to push anything, unlike alot of places now. Several of the vet places I called wouldn't even give me a base price for teeth cleaning. Stating it could run over a thousand based on my dog's teeth state. I get that, but from a consumer, it just gives me less trust in the place. I think I'll be taking my dogs here going fwd. I had such a good feel about this place and everyone here made it a great experience. And it's right by my Acura Dealer too!!!

Ruth Helen Wolf is the best of the best. Both Dr. Setlock and Dr. Herron are kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable. Dr. Setlock has been taking amazing care of my medically complicated chihuahua, and they work closely with Reach Rescue in Mundelein where I volunteer. After getting to know the vets through my foster dogs with Reach, I switched my own personal dogs over to RHW from another vet. The support staff is wonderful as well and so friendly! Cannot say enough great things about this veterinary office!!!!

I had three dogs under the care of Dr. Setlock. I have seen him save puppies that breeders wanted to euthanize. They have a fund to help those animals that otherwise would have no care. His years of experience as a shelter vet has exposed him to far more and offered him expertise that other vets might not have. My dogs lived long healthy lives and I credit my vet for a large part of that.

A little pricey for vet care, but the staff is excellent.

They're wonderful with my 2 cats. Grateful they were where the shelter sent them for the pre forever home check up, spaying and microchip.

I have sadly had my share of fur friends that I outlived. Today was another one of those days, and we had to let our Husky go. I have done this before, at more than a few vets, and this one was by far the most respectful, gentle, and peaceful. At each step we were given clear, frank, but gently worded information, and asked "Do you want to be there for that part?". We chose to be with our dog when she went, stroking her head and reassuring her. It was peaceful, gentle, and as easy as this hard task could be. I hope to change vets for the other fur friends, this one seems to really take care of pet and parent.

Terrible. The vet was rude about why I didn't get one of the vaccines for my dog in 2020. I told her I wasn't sure why he didn't get it considering he only went to that clinic since we moved here and I had never said no to any of the vaccines they suggested. She continued to ask several times before asking if they could give it to him. When I asked her what the vaccine was suppose to protect against SHE COULDN'T ANSWER, SHE LOOKED TO HER VET TECH TO ANSWER THE QUESTION. I'm sorry but if you are going to be rude about the state of my dog's vaccination status, you better know what it is your trying to inject him with. With all this, they didn't mention his cyst on his nose or any of the concerns I have brought him in for in the past. To top it all off, we were out in less than 15 minutes, majority of that spent on that single subject. I will never go back.

Dr. Settlock and Dr. Herron gave me 5 additional years with my dog Snowflake. We have brought my parents' dogs and my dogs to them for over 10 years now. My Snowy and my parents' babies have since crossed the Rainbow Bridge. The compassion they showed us when that happened and even more so, the care they gave to them was phenomenal. They're fabulous, and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my babies. My dog now loves them just like all our other ones.

Our favorite vet! We are dog foster parents so we've had experiences with a lot of vets in the area but Wolf is the only place we take our own dogs and cats. The doctors are great, the staff is professional and the office cat is the best.

We have been going to Wolf Animal hospital for over 10 years. Whether it is for routine checkups or a diagnosis of a symptom they have always been attentive, responsive and compassionate. Recently, we had to put our dog down and Dr. Herron could not have been more kind to us and to our pet. They do get busy at times so please be patient when making an appointment. It will be worth the wait.

Dr. Herron is our favorite! The staff here are all great and so warm and loving with the animals. They also are open to our needs and work with us on everything. We are very happy with the prices too! Affordable, high quality!

High quality care for pets. The vets here really care about making sure your pet gets what they need to stay healthy. Quick to answer questions and really helpful at easing fears, especially since one of my dogs has epilepsy. Worth every penny. Highly recommend to all pet lovers and owners.

Been trying to get a refill for my dog’s medications that needed to be sent at a local pharmacy. Took them forever to get the process right. Several people in that office lies Just to get out of what they need to do. Probably not happy not getting the meds from them.
