They have an excellent service, every employee of the hotel was very kind and attentive all the time. I was there for my son's Navy graduation. At the entrance of the hotel they have a big banner congratulating all the graduating sailors. The rooms are big enough and spacious. Good AC, good lighting, good size bathroom, room includes TV, small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, small dining table with two chairs, dresser, closet, iron and ironing board. Rooms look clean and the whole hotel looks clean too. The employees who work at breakfast in the morning are super friendly and are attentive to any detail. The maintenance guy is always smiling and when you walk up to him he always asks "how are you and thank you". The reception service is also excellent, they receive you very kindly. In general, this hotel is an excellent option for your vacations and I will always recommend them 100%, because it was an incredible experience.

The hotel is near the Great Lakes Naval Base. The room was nice & clean but had a weird smell, when the air condition was off. The breakfast was poor, but there are many restaurants near by to get a full, warm breakfast. Overall had a good stay with them.

I would highly suggest staying at the Navy Lodge!!! The room are comfortable and very clean. The staff were constantly working hard!!! Everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating. Jeff at the desk and Mae the assistant manager weโ€™re great!!! I wish I wouldโ€™ve gotten the name of the lady that worked the desk during the day because she was also great. Well actually all the staff deserves 5 stars!! Thank you for making this emotional weekend easier!! You guys are great

Not the newest or most updated, but it was decent and just perfect for our stay. They accommodated us for an earlier arrival breakfast was great coffee and tea offered all day long that went perfect since we were there in winter just minutes away from recruit training command loved the surroundings.

Clean, well managed and committed to excellence. A great grab and go breakfast in the morning. Excellent front desk staff. Especially Kyla Mae. We stay there every time we go to North Chicago/Great Lakes. Extremely tuned into disability access, service dogs and also those people bringing pets to stay there at the facility.

Fantastic Breakfast! Very comfortable beds. Nice big thick towels. Beautiful rooms with microwave and refrigerator. They have a nice size laundry room with plenty of washers and dryers. There's also a lounge where you can watch TV and just relax. Very comfortable and relaxing place, we love the Navy Lodge. They have coffee, tea or hot chocolate 24 hrs 7 days a week. Thank You very much, and check in and check out is a breeze. It's a win win situation.

We thought weโ€™d booked at Gateway again but were pleasantly surprised at how close and convenient Navy Lodge was for us. They were very accommodating and our room was great - double queens with mini fridge and microwave. Perfect for our week visit!

The staff was so great, very helpful. I love how they are super supportive of all the Navy Family on PIR day. The lady that check us in right away informed us that we should head straight to pick up our tickets for graduation, as they were getting very busy, and the lines were long. Gave the guest a map of where to go. I would recommend this place to all the families that are going to PIR. One thing that was a little bothered by was the water pressure. The Friday of PIR, I assume everyone was taking a shower, and there was not enough water pressure for the whole building. But again that's the only thing I had to negative about. Everything was amazing.

Great place,,take the shuttle to and from the lodge for graduation, we did there were over 1000 kids graduating and twice as many going to the graduation,,I took my own grill to grill in the evening and in the morning for breakfast but they do have a patio you can use with a grill too, hanging an anchor with the last name and division is also a navy tradition, this one was our there were many different kinds,,they give you a list of places to go and dine,we did go to one called the Wildberry for breakfast and it was very good,I recommend it,, there is also a navy meet and greet I don't think it's associated with the lodge but it's something I would also recommend going too as well, you will meet parents for the same division of your kids,,Congratulations to all navy parents

Stayed there for my sons bootcamp graduation and we had an amazing time! The elevator broke while we were there but the staff was on it and had it fixed as quickly as they could. It was clean, nice and housekeeping made sure everything was perfect for our large group.

We were at the Navy Lodge for our grandsons graduation and everything was clean and in good order. The staff was very nice and accommodating except Jeffrey at the front desk, he went way above being helpful and I gained a new friend. If you come to the Navy Lodge you will be happy if you get the pleasure of meeting Jeffrey! He is the BEST! Thank you Jeffrey ๐Ÿ‘

Very Nice place. Wish it had a swimming pool but.... Very reasonable priced. We had a full kitchen. The staff was very friendly and took care of everything that we asked. Its just that we were here 4 days before anyone came into the room to service. Had to keep asking for towels... We knew this was their policy going in. Again the staff was great and perhaps they are shorthanded....Hopefully they will change this particular policy.

Staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable. The Navy Lodge was near the base and they furnished shuttle service to the PIR/Bootcamp graduation. The price was very reasonable.

The staff was extra friendly and helpful, they offered free breakfast, it was super close to the base and NEX, and the most important thing was that it was very CLEAN. My husband and I stayed there for our daughterโ€™s PIR ceremony last week and we would definitely stay there again if we were ever in the area.

Stayed there this past weekend for our son's PIR. We got there right around 3:00 p.m. on Thursday and the line was pretty long and only one person working the counter. Now I understand there could be many reasons why, but I think some people were getting frustrated with the wait. However, this place exceed my expectations!! It was the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed at. Every employee was super nice, always said hi and had smiles on their faces. This place deserves more than five stars! Would recommend!

  • 4/5 Diane S. 1 year ago on Google
staff was super friendly and helpful. hotel was close to the Naval base and every location needed for PIR, and in the middle of military housing so we felt safe enough. the hotel itself is dated, standard rooms are tight (I have bruises on both legs from hitting the corner of the square table near the foot of one bed - one hit broke skin), and the window unit AC was LOUD! the experience was nice enough, seeing all of the hanging anchors on doors for graduating sailors was sweet and the Lodge offers door hangers for guests so it was one less thing to pack. the price was very reasonable.

Our family stayed at the Navy Lodge in November for a few days and overall it was a really great experience! The rooms were nice and they have fairly new kitchenettes. They also provided dishes, utensils and some appliances. We extended our stay a few times with no trouble at all. The breakfast was small but there were a few different options and there wasn't a limit on how much. The staff was very friendly and would try and accommodate you as best they could. We will definitely stay there again if we make it back that way. Thanks Navy Lodge for helping make our stay as easy as possible so we could enjoy time with our Sailor.

I loved everything about Navy Lodge. Friendly staff. Continental breakfast and 24hr coffee. Location is only 5-7 minutes from the base. They offer shuttle service. Beds were comfortable, pillows were not too soft but squishable to your comfort. Microwave and small refrigerator in room. I would highly recommend for any family coming to graduation.

I was there the weekend of 1/27 for my sons graduation from boot camp. I must say this is probably the most well kept and well maintained hotel I have ever stayed in even though there was a renovation going on on the third floor. The staff was very accommodating and nice. Could not have been happier.

My family and I took a long drive to Chicago to see my son graduate from Boot Camp. Your Navy Lodge came highly recommended so we decided to book our reservation with you. During our drive, the day I was going to arrive, I made a phone call to the Navy Lodge, where I asked if we were able to do an early check-in since we would be there shortly. We were told yes. Upon arriving to the Navy Lodge, I walked up to the front desk where an extremely rude employee disregarded me standing there, and when I kindly asked her if we could check in, she rudley stated how we would have to sit and wait. I told her I just called somebody and they said that they can do an early check-in because there was a lot of rooms available. Sheโ€™s then rudely stated that there was no rooms available. My son then asked if he could use the bathroom and she rudely rolled her eyes and walked my son to the bathroom while huffing and puffing like a small child. When we finally were able to check in, we went to our room to find someoneโ€™s hair all over the bathroom and on our beds. We smelled cigarette smoke the entire stay where we were told there would be no smoking. There was someoneโ€™s old food left in the fridge. And there were pebbles on the carpets. The room had a very odd smell. When my sailor came to the hotel with us he said good morning to an employee who totally disregarded him and kept walking. When I made the reservation, I used one card to make the reservation. When I arrived I wanted to make the payment with another. It was a mix up and now the payment was taken out of the wrong account. I was a little disappointed. The breakfast was eh but the families staying there were great. I was happy the drive was so close to pick up my sailor from the navy base. I would hope in the future that the rooms be double checked for cleanliness and the staff be prepped to interact with customers a lot more professionally and courteously. For a place representing the Navy families I wouldโ€™ve thought things wouldโ€™ve been different.

I can not recommend this facility enough. I stayed for 3 nights for my daughter's PIR. I had never been to Chicago and was feeling very anxious about the next few day's events. Everyone, and I mean everyone was extremely nice, helpful and courteous. Tony the shuttle driver is amazing. Please, if your in town for the PIR take the shuttle. They do not have to wait in traffic with everyone else and will drop you right off at the gate. The room was clean and comfy. The coffee was delicious and they offered a lot of different options for breakfast. They also live streamed the PIR in the lobby which was perfect for my mom and son to be able to eat and watch. I'm so grateful for the wonderful experience I had. Not only with my new Sailor but that I chose to stay here. If I ever have to come back, this is where I'll stay . Thank you so much Navy Lodge!!โ™ฅ๏ธ

Employees were so helpful and very nice They had a hook for the door. Room clean. Laundry room clean you even get a complementary box of Tide . Will recommend this place. Close to graduation and have a bus take you to the graduation and bring you back. Great place thank you for your great staff.

  • 1/5 Derek B. 8 months ago on Google
Make sure you don't leave anything valuable in your room when you check out. Room service will find it and they won't let you know about it. I left a Tempurpedic pillow with a green pillow case. Housekeeping took the pillow case off and put it all in the laundry room. When I went to ask the front desk if they had it in the lost and found, they checked and said no. I went back in again and checked myself. Finally I asked if it could be somewhere else, then they found it in the laundry room. Management needs to do something about this dishonesty and lack of customer service.

Wonderful to see my sonโ€™s graduation June 2019. The staff was friendly and attentive. House keeping needs proper cleaning instructions. My daughter and I were midnight snacks for the bed bugs and spiders. So bad we had to seek medical attention. Disgusting. Ruined our visit. I have pictures of the bugs.

Terrible place to stay. The cleaning staff doesn't vacuum and barley cleans. The night front desk blast music very loud via the TV in the lobby all night so good luck sleeping. The breakfast bar is not refilled often enough so if you are not first person good luck getting food. I brought all of these problems up with the staff and they don't care. If I wasn't forced to stay here by the Navy I would stay anywhere else. Really bad place I do not recommend.

We stayed at The Navy Lodge this past Wednesday through today for my Sailorโ€™s PIR. What a wonderful place to stay!! Everyone we encountered was extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. The rooms were cozy and warm with a home-like quality. The beds were so amazingly comfortable with the absolutely best pillows Iโ€™ve ever slept on!! I was actually able to sleep without waking up once during the night. That is the first time in quite a while! The free breakfast was nice and there was always complimentary hot coffee and lemon water available for guests. After taking our Sailors back to RTC on the night of graduation, some of us parents had a pizza party in the dining area and the staff was great...allowing us to laugh, rejoice and share the experience as a group with no problem! The location is excellent...very close to RTC, many restaurants and to the NEX. We had an amazing experience and I highly recommend The Navy Lodge. It is definitely THE place to stay during this very special time! Thank you Navy Lodge Staff for the excellent accommodations and care you provided for our family and all other Navy families!! Bravo Zulu and Hooyah!!! โš“๏ธ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

CANT GIVE IT LESS THAN ONE STAR I stayed 2 days the room initially was ok till we found lots of bugs in room on secound nite one on table and more on ceiling went to managment no one was available no other room was provided and no apologies were offerd when I asked for a credit non was offered said maneger had to offer it after an hour and half of waiting after check out waiting in lobby no maneger ever came out Was latter told maintenance would inspect room to confirm my complaint as if I was Lyeing. I suggest finding OTHER ACCOMMODATIONS for your NAVY recruits gradation! Avoid NAVY LODGE! They have BUGS!

Come only for the camaraderie and convenience. they don't vacuum here. not the hall and 4 days not my room (which was DIRTY when I checked in). In 4 days, towels brought 1 day (2 towels for 3 people). had to ask for 2 days to get linens for pull out (and they don't fit). no toilet paper (for 3 days after I opened the extra roll). And the wifi didn't work all weekend. I hope they don't expect me to PAY for this place and this poorly represents my country and my military.

I always suggests to my friends to go to this restaurant. everytime I feel like having a superb supper, this restaurant comes straightaway to my mind. extremely good and many types of food and a large menu.well mannered staff members, and good ambience. In addition to that, the expence is honest. I suggest this restaurant with pleasure.
