My
experience
with
Dr.
Casper
in
August
was
consistent
with
other
reviewers.
Rather
than
perform
a
basic
exam
as
a
first
step
in
evaluating
my
sinus
symptoms,
he
leapt
to
a
nasal
endoscopy,
which
he
implied
was
the
physical
examination
portion
of
my
first
visit.
Similarly,
the
"x-rays"
he
ordered
me
to
have
three
days
later
weren't
x-rays,
but
in
fact
a
CT
scan.
When
Dr.
Casper
called
me
with
my
results,
he
was
rushed
to
say
the
imaging
revealed
nothing,
referenced
symptoms
not
previously
discussed
or
described,
and
volunteered
no
additional
information
or
recommended
next
steps.
Confused
and
troubled
with
my
experience,
I
left
the
first
of
many
messages
for
the
Practice
Manager,
Sadiya,
that
day.
Sadiya
never
returned
any
of
my
calls
(all
messages
left
with
their
central
scheduling
service,
as
there
are
no
direct
lines,
emails,
or
other
ways
to
reach
them).
When
I
received
my
bill
on
9/18,
I
contacted
billing
and
was
finally
transferred
to
Sadiya
directly.
Among
other
things,
I
indicated
I
felt
I'd
been
the
victim
of
a
bait
and
switch
scam,
with
more
expensive
services
charged
without
my
consent.
Sadiya
argued
that
"CT
scan"
and
"x-ray"
are
synonyms
(despite
different
coding,
distinct
radiation
exposure,
and
the
fact
that,
according
to
Sadiya,
they
"don't
even
have
standard
x-ray
equipment
at
the
Libertyville
location"
--
obviously,
unbeknownst
to
me
as
a
patient
and
all
the
more
reason
for
their
doctors
not
to
use
that
terminology).
Sadiya
eventually
agreed
to
waive
the
CT
scan
charges.
Even
so,
I
ultimately
filed
a
claim
with
the
BBB
regarding
what
I
felt
was
an
ethics
violation
by
an
exploitative
business
masquerading
as
a
healthcare
practice.
A
patient
cannot
provide
informed
consent
if
services/procedures
are
called
by
other
names
than
those
performed
and
billed.
They
never
responded
to
the
BBB
claim.
