The bridge was built in 1936 It was built of concrete and wood and was blown up in 1940 when the British withdrew and the Germans advanced. In 1948, the British Engineering Corps constructed a new steel and wood replacement bridge, which was opened in the presence of Prince Mohamed Idriss Snoussi. its movement was in one direction and organized with two gates on its edges. In 1965, the construction of a new suspension bridge began, designed by Italian engineer Ricardo Morandi and jointly executed by two Italian and Swiss companies. It was completed in 1971.

It's just a place where you take a quick photo, then visit areas at the bottom of the mountain where Omar Al mokhtar used for shelter during the war.
