Leptis or Lepcis Magna, also known by other names in antiquity, was a prominent city of the Carthaginian Empire and Roman Libya at the mouth of the Wadi Lebda in the Mediterranean. Wikipedia

Very well preserved cobble streets, arches, gates and columns. Back in late 70s it was (and probably still is) a free admission with very few tourists throughoutthe day. It was like drive to there, walk around for as long as you want, go back amazed with this fulfilling sence of history. Hope one day that will be the big international tourist sensation.
