Underwhelming experience at most Recently stayed at Ellery for one night with their package totally coco. From start to finish this stay did not even meet the lowest of my expectations. We started question the hotels economic liquidity as from the start the room was dusty and several dustbunnies was found on shelves. My four year old can clean better than that. After an attempt to clean the room once again dust bunnies were still present… not that impressive.. The spa facilities have a nice style and estethics to it but there is definitely some repairs and service needed as som flooring is broken and loose. Continuing with the food we was pleasantly surprised at dinner in the coco Beach club. The menu was well thought through and flavours expertly matched service at dinner could have been more attentive as we had to wait over 40 minutes to get our hot courses. The overall disappointment ensued at breakfast with staff telling us that they had gone all out of bacon. I’ve never heard of a hotel that can’t even hold stock of bacon for breakfasts… thus our concerns for the hotels economy.

Awesome looking architecture and super comfy feel overall, terrible service with unfriendly workers. Did not feel wanted there at all, and this is coming from someone who tours around different spas in sweden, if you care about the whole experience and not just the venue then you should definitely go somewhere else. The breakfast was good, the drinks in the bar were terrible just tasted straight alcohol, disgusting. Dont buy snacks from the pool/bar areas because it was wild 10$ for some old fruit. Weird ceilings in the rooms, like they just gave up midway through renovation. There was a super nice dude in the reception, the silver lining i guess, although not enough.

Overhyped, overpriced and extremely crowded place. If you're looking for a relaxing and romantic stay this might be it, but expect elevated stress levels. If you're looking for fun and party with your posse, this is THE place. The clientele is focused around early twenties girl and boys gangs in celebration mode. Avoid if you want to relax, attend if you're in party mode.

We purchased the golden summer overnight package as a birthday surprise. The location is far from the city, so had difficulty getting there. The hotel room was lovely, but small. The food was incredible - we had brunch, three course dinner and the buffet breakfast included. The dining areas were stunning. The staff were polite, however, service was slow. There were not many people visiting (it was mid-week and the weather was poor) but our waiter/waitresses were nowhere to be found. The reception desk at the beach club was unoccupied so we were unable to receive towels / have our questions answered. The lounge beds by the pools are very shabby and worn. All of them had dirty footprints on! There was only one bed left by the main pool, which was in the shade. I can't imagine what it would be like on a busy weekend! We were lucky to get one hour of sunbathing. The pool is tiny, not big enough if everyone wanted to swim at once. There is another shallow pool indoors which is basically pointless. There are just two saunas, both small in size, so you have to wait your turn. It would be better if there were more pool and sauna options - perhaps a steam room or a jacuzzi too. There are not enough activities to do if the weather is poor. They did not put the fire on in the indoor lounge, so it wasn't cosy or relaxing. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but would not recommend staying for more than a day. We will not be coming back. If you like to travel to spas abroad, the Therme in Bucharest is wonderful.

The interior and the spa/pool areas were nice but unfortunately very worn out and torn for being a relatively new hotel. The reception, bar and breakfast staff were great. Service minded and helpful. If it wasn’t because of them the service level would’ve gotten -1 if it was possible. The service during dinner at Coco Beach was a disappointment. The restaurant wasn’t full and it wasn’t considered as understaffed but the servers were not attentive. It took a long time to get our table, orders and over an hour to get our food served. We were told that the menu was new and the kitchen was having some difficulties which to us was not a valid reason as the crew should be experienced to handle orders regardless of what the menu was. The food was ok. Our server gave us rice for our dishes only after our dish was almost finished. The timing of everything in the restaurant was just wrong. Our room was cozy but our shower head was dripping water and it wasn’t anything they could solve so we were given towels to place in the shower to cover the sound from the water drops. Location-wise was also very nice but there are a few things that need to be addressed until Ellery could be recognized as a top notch hotel.

I can’t explain why, but I wasn’t expecting the food here to be that good, thinking it was more of a place to focus on the spa experience rather than the food. And at first, the starter was a little lackluster. But the main dish blew my mind completely. I’ve had game meat before and I’ve always thought it was fine but not necessarily better than a really good beef streak, but this honestly changed my mind. The meat was so delicious, it had just the right amount of seasoning to uplift the meat but not override the meat flavors, and the complementary purée was a perfect combination. I’d come back here for this meal on its own. I think this really encapsulates what Swedish cuisine can be. Fresh, seasonal meals that are just accentuated by surrounding flavors.

We've visited this place 2x (winter and summer). It's good for the comparison: Service: kind and without any problem. Spa: 3 outside pools, sauna, relax room with a fire, clean, spacious. In winter, the water in the outdoor pools was warm, a bit cold in the summer evening (therefore people were packed in the inside pool). They have built the bar next to the outdoor pool that has a great summer vibe, I personally prefer to have a view of the water instead of staring at the bar especially if it is on the hill. Food: Breakfast has been extraordinary in both seasons. In winter, the food (only dinner) was really not so good (bland or over-seasoned) and that was also the reason why I was not sure about visiting your hotel again. Although this time in summer, the dinner was great and I was really pleased even though the menu looked almost identical. Different chef? Accommodation: We paid for a bigger room, spacious, clean, the biggest bed in the room I've seen. Not possible to open the window though. Possibility to play some games in summer or indoors. A nice beautiful place that is worth your money and stays. Overall, I have to choose 4 stars (mainly because of the bad first dinner experience).

This is one of my best hotel experience. Absolutely amazing place. I would even recommend you staying here during the winter. The beach club with heated outdoor pool overlooking the water and archipelago is amazing, and if you’re lucky you will have an amazing sunset. The indoor pool with sun beds are relaxing and I even brought my computer to get some work done. The fireplace room with dimmed light and sun beds is amazingly relaxing, leave everything and just relax and clear your head or take a nap. I can strongly recommend the sauna down by the water, and if you dare, jump in the ice cold water, it’s amazing! The service here exceeded all my expectations. The staff were professional, service minded and overall helpful. The restaurant is cozy and the food was very good, this coming from two people who is picky when it comes to food. And the view overlooking the water while eating is beautiful. The breakfast was amazing too. Everything was fresh, and with a big variety. I live in Stockholm and this was a relaxing getaway from the hectic life we live in the big city. I would strongly recommend you to choose to stay in this hotel if you are visiting Stockholm, you will get an amazing hotel in experience as well as big city visit. It’s not just for the room, you will get so much more out of it. The city is just a bus-ride (4EUR), or 15 minute car ride away. You can also take the ferry which is awesome way to travel in the city with the amazing views (also 4EUR)

Overall it is a great place in a beautiful setting. The spa area with its different pools are super nice. The hotel rooms and the food at the restaurant won’t disappoint you either. But unfortunately overall there is something missing. My experience might have been impaired by the fact that the hotel was completely full and as a guest you really noticed that. There were lines of people everywhere, especially in the restaurant but the spa area also felt crowded. This made the hotel feel more like a money making industry rather than an exclusive retreat.

4 out of 5 I enjoyed the hot bath during the snow, it was a very beautiful and relaxing experience. I'll call it A Spa not a Beach club. Little could at the changing room a d the shower room. But very calm environment. I love drinking while enjoying good drinks. Food was 4 out of 5.... Recommend to spend the night Also..

I’m usually not one to complain on google reviews, but Ellery beach house honestly did not meet the expectations at all. These are the smallest hotel rooms I’ve ever been in, you can barely get passed the bed because of how narrow the rooms are. I am mostly surprised about it being advertised as a “beach house/spa”. They did have one bigger pool, a small indoor pool, and another small pool connected to a sauna area. The biggest issue was that they book in way too many people, so none of the sun beds were available. It wasn’t enjoyable and relaxable at all, which takes away the whole point of it being a spa. We also ate at restaurant palmers. The food was mediocre and overpriced but the staff was professional and nice.

Really nice place, where you can stress down and relax. Forget about tomorrow. Good space around the pools with daybeds and if you want to be a Viking, there is a sauna next to the ocean so you can take a dip . You don’t need to be hungry or thirsty. You find bars with finger foods and restaurant with real dinners. If you spend the night there you will start the day with a really nice breakfast buffe. I will definitely visit again.

Quite terrible overall service concept with some really nice members of the staff. - Forgot my phone in the hotel. They ask me to use the "contact" function at the homepage. Still no answer after 2 months. In any other hotel with a high quality service concept, the reception would simply check lost and found and get back within the hour. - Compared to other SPA options and given quality (i.e. Sturebadet, Yasuragi) it is overpriced. This being said, the outdoor SPA / location is very nice, but it smells too much of chlorine and the temperature is quite low in the outdoor pools. - In the restaurant their only Vegetarian options is Cabbage. Compared to other restaurants offering only cabbage the dish was ok. - The breakfast was excellent (though it the gluten free bread ran out 1 hour before closing). -Rooms were small and quite dark with interesting but impractical design. If you can relax around loud music, and people doing bussiness this might still be the place for you. Also, I strongly recommend you to not forget anything in the hotel when leaving.

Me and two friends had a great time at Ellery. We were there in the autumn for a weekend get away and had great fun. The rooms are small but very nicely decorated in a California 60s retro style (I would guess). They are relaxed and comfortable. The beds are very soft. The package we had was dinner first and then pool club. I think swimming before dinner is better but we didn’t have the option. The food was great!! 2 starters, main course and dessert. As well as bread. We were so full when we were done. But it was all excellent. The pool club was good. We especially liked the sauna down by the water. We had it to ourselves mostly and taking a dip in the cold water and then entering in the warm sauna was lovely. The other pools were good. Except for when they were closing the pools, we were in the one in front of the hotel and they started rolling out the covering whilst people were still in the pool. We got the message but that was a little weird. They had lots of other games to play. Board games, ping pong table, shuffle board. So much fun to be had. They also have Paddel courses to rent. The area is beautiful to walk in along the water. There is a cafe nearby with little antique shops so if you come early on a nice day spending it outside is nice. The view is also fantastic. We used local transport to get there and back. No need to have a car if you don’t have one. We took the metro to Ropsten and then a bus to Elfvik, then a 5/10 minute walk. Recommend this place as fun getaway with friends. Would go again.

Great service Really nice and luxurious feel and great atmosphere in the restaurant and lobby! The Spa is okey, its beautiful but there were two kids in the pool even if it's meant to be a kids free zone... Also Swedish people don't relax, they talk in the Sauna and EVERYONE TAKES PICTURES in the Spa area. It's just the Swedish culture that you have to accept that they don't do cell phone free areas in Spa's like other luxury places in other countries. You just have to accept that you and your girlfriend will be photographed half naked because Swedes love to Instagram. My Gf and I missed the option of being nude in the sauna like most other countries, Sweden is quite afraid of nudity contrary to how it once was in the Swedish archipelago in the 60's, due to cell phone cameras and Me-too. It's quite conservative now. The music in the spa was a bit off as well. The food was amazing, great service and wine selection, and again such beautiful atmosphere. The breakfast could definitely have more vegan options, but they do have began yogurt and arranged for a tofu scramble which was really sweet, 4/5 for breakfast, just a lot of meat for being a spa resort where you wanna feel healthy and fresh. Loved it overall! :) take away the cellphones in the relaxing area and it's 5/5.

Very nice place, food and everything. I was surprised not to see a single hot tub tho! But whatever you do, don't go there in a larger group, don't have to much fun because drunk or not, having fun seems to be forbidden. Service all in all wasn't that great... Down at the Coco Club the experience was just terrible right from the first order... Nonchalant bartenders and just because of having to much fun they decided to not serve us anymore 1 hour before closing. We talked to the ?manager? after we got denied ordering in the club and he looked very surprised with the bartenders thinking we were too drunk.

This place is far the must high quality hotel spa in Stockholm right on the shores of lidingö one if the most richest places in Stockholm spa outside pool, bar bastu, theirs Spa and decor it reminds 80 Californian movie…..

Nice getaway close to the city! The decor and architecture are all very good and following their art deco theme mixed with some industrial design and in general it feels pretty luxurious. Great atmosphere around the pool club with love music and a good bar, but it's way too small compared to the amount of people they let in (even in covid-times). Very hard to get a spot somewhere and many guests instead were laying on the grass or sitting inside on a sunny Sunday. Nice saunas and fun with access to the sea for a colder dip. Food was good, nothing very special but felt well made and high quality ingredients. All in all a solid 4 star, without being close to reaching 5.

Very pleasant and price worthy stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. The SPA facility was big enough that it never got crowded.

  • 4/5 August R. 6 months ago on Google
We had a great stay overall: - Rooms are indeed small, but functional. Would def spend the small amount needed to upgrade to sea view - Overall design and feel of the place is great. This includes the beach club section. It got quite crowded as they pack quite a lot of people into the place, so would recommend arriving early if you e.g., want a spot by the pool - Food (dinner and esp. breakfast) was also high quality.

Amazing place with stylish rooms, great spa experience with a variety of saunas and pools. Tasteful food and cozy atmosphere in the bar/lounge area. Top pick for weekend getaway with friends for sports, wellness and togetherness. Thanks for the experience.

A modern hotel in a lovely position on the edge of a fjord, and about 20 minutes from Stockholm. This hotel is aimed at the younger generations with piped music nearly everywhere and good sports facilities. The rooms were a good size and the beds very comfortable. We went just out of season and the hotel was still pretty busy. In the main season it will be heaving. Everywhere was very clean and the staff very helpful. Good parking but several hundred meters away from the hotel, Off load before you park.

The most beautiful destination hotel in the Stockholm area. Heavenly breakfasts (as ESS Group infamously always deliver on), relaxing lounging areas across the hotel and pool area and the nature around the hotel is astonishing. Favorite spot across the area is definitely the sauna by the ocean. Can warmly recommend for a weekend or conference!

Horrible experience w Harrison - this is the second time the Ellery customer service has been awful. The first time, even though they booked us into the wrong date and we couldn’t go because they had a conference they almost charged us and we had to leave. This time, we called the day of w Covid symptoms and they refused to move the booking let alone refund us. I have worked in hospitality for years and the way they treated us and don’t care about the customer experience is next level!

Located on the remotest part of the remote "island" Lidongö. Super friendly and professional staff. The Junior suite was overlooking the parking lot ... not too sexy. Outside the entrance, next to the suites, there is a hot pool, recommend to bring champagne glasses, and take a relaxing bath as "appetizer" before venturing inside. The dinner was overall very good but inconsistent; Recommend to focus on the appetizers, and skip the entrees to get the best experience. Their entrees were not up to par; The gambas were shrimps, and the carpaccio was frozen, see pictures. Instead split a few appetizers that are awesome, and the Main course, between you. Add a few sides dishes for the main. Not so filling and you stay "in shape" for the beach club. Breakfast has a booked timeslot, you still have to wait to be seated. Good various foods and drinks, but the scrambled eggs can improve. After dinner we visited the fire pit room, very nice n quiet. Moved on to the main indoor pool area, also quiet. Picked up a good espresso martini in the bar and relaxed in a daybed by the pool. The second pool is located in a separate building where the music and action is. Full of young ppl enjoying themselves. We skipped this, and headed for the sauna by the ocean, quiet and complete darkness. Expensive venue, but overall worth your time and money.

We have been here for a company training and I really enjoyed the experience that the place offers. The staff is very kind and helpful, the interior is very bright, finely furnished and with some nice variations between the different areas. The rooms (or at least the one I had) was very spacious and with a cool interior design. We also had the time to enjoy the pools and the sauna, so relaxing. Very cool experience, reccomended!

Very nice and relaxing resort close to Stockholm. The rooms and the spa area are amazing but the food (which is included in the prize) did not add up to the expectations you have when you pay this much for a night. Breakfast on the other hand was amazing.

We spent the weekend celebrating my best friends Hen do at Ellery and I can confidentially say I wouldn't change the location for the world. The team at Ellery (shout-out to Jonas) where absolutely incredible at accommodating us and the venue itself is stunning. Great atmosphere, good food, top notch activities and overall - a weekend nether the bride or her best friends will forget! Can't wait to come back!

Me and some friends have chosen Ellery beach hotel for spending a nice day at its spa area. Please see below the (in my opinion) pros and cons of this hotel/spa: Pros: - Beautiful area with nice nature around. - New building, fresh and clean - Amazing decoration -Two saunas which are nice, one by the pool and the other one next to the sea - Calm lounge music - Warm pools Cons - Small changing rooms, quite uncomfortable with too many people being there at the same time - The spa day options have the limitation of being allowed to stay at the spa area for only 4 hours. For me this is not a day spa but a half day spa. 4 hours are not enough for someone who wants to spend the “whole” day there to relax. I felt almost stressed being able to change and then get ready for lunch. - The bar by the outside pool has limited food and drink options - The staff is quite unpolite and unprofessional. For instance: I ordered a glass of wine together with my main course. To begin with, I was never given the option to taste the wine! Additionally, the wine was served in the wrong glass (it was a glass meant for dessert wines, which directly means less quantity). When I mentioned this to the waitress the answer was “-Pour it into the other glass next to you”!!!!!! This was the most unprofessional answer I have ever received in a restaurant/hotel. I got really surprised. - Finally! There is no jacuzzi. Every spa that respects it self has one. 🤷‍♀️

So.. the location is really nice but not sth really really special for a person that already lives in Sweden. I think we booked the smallest room but I can tell u it was the smallest room I have been in my life. Very clean and nicely decorated. The quality of the food was way above average but wouldn't describe it as perfect for the price. People that worked in the service area were very nice and polite but there is a lack of room service and fast service in the spa area. Now the spa itself is sth that you will probably forget in a short period of time. In conclusion: if you want a quick get out of routine in sthlm is recommendable for the price considering is only 20 min drive from the center.

Beautiful views and quick transit to and from the city. Was there for a food and music event. Service is great as always and it's all smiles and reassure that everything is well and all needs are meet. Food was great with a BBQ outdoor buffé. Good wine and nice rounds from staff keeps glas from running low.

Simply a 10/10. The whole setting and vibe is immaculate. Rooms were huge and had plenty of amenities. The outside pool area had a bar and beautiful views. There is even a small pool and spa area indoors. Breakfast was excellent. I highly recommend. This hotel is so connected with nature unlike anything I‘ve ever seen, you can walk to the waterfront no problem.

Service was not good. The restaurant was nearly empty and we never got checked on...had to flag someone down to get more drinks. Took forever to make our drinks. They were out of one of the 4 drinks on thr drink menu...also werw out of olives for my martini. The bar by the reception had a great drink menu but the bar was closed and we were told we couldn't order those drinks at the restaurant bar. Menu did not have gluten free vegetarian options. Pool and outdoor space were lovely but we didn't have access to it. Interior design was on point, but after the brunch experiment, I would not return

Premium price tag for noticably cheap experience. Food is good but not amazing. Bathrobe, slippers, and toilet paper are noticably low quality.

Nice Spa! The architecture is very interesting and the location is beautiful. Their rooms and service are awesome as well as their dinner and breakfast! I would love to see more diversity in their pools and get some jacuzzi as well, but the possibility of hanging and chilling in their pools with a drink in your hand is worthless!

A conference and spa hotel outside of stockholm. Newly renovated and has the expected luxury feel. The rooms are fresh but extremely small. The spa area is ok, feels more adapted for company conference groups than romantic getaway. Unfortunately they have padel courts that of cource makes the place swarm with middle aged white managers in sports shorts.. It all gives it a 2019 vibe... Food was sometime fantastic and sometimes surprisingly bad. Conclusion. Bring your company not your partner !

A cosy place to visit if you are in Stockholm or wanna enjoy a spa time in the beautiful nature around. The hotel is nice and has several side activities as well. Clean rooms with good food, and both indoor and outdoor pools. But don’t expect a quiet place for relaxing! It’s packed and soooo loud!!! We had the day pass which let us chill before crowds coming for the night stay! As in the photos, day pass was really relaxing:)

Was there for a conference, rooms were nice and fika was great. Tried one of the signature drinks, naked and famous which was lovely. Dinner was unfortunately a bit of a disappointment. The starter were tasty but boring and the main course was only boring.

Yasuragi is better! Been curious about this place for a while so my husband took me there for Valentine's day. Staff was really helpful and friendly. Room was on the ground floor but very quiet. I slept very well. Bathroom and bedroom unfortunately with terrible lighting and impossible to put make up. In the Bathroom we could hear everything from the bathroom next door. In the bedroom, this was the most bizarre thing I've ever seen: the minibar was all the way up!!! Ridiculous!! It makes impossible for shorties like me, not ok! My husband paid extra to get balloons and stuff but the balloons didn't even last 12hs. No Jacuzzis (disappointment) Only tried the sauna by the sea (a bit small in my opinion) which had a nice view. Pools were nice and warm but no view at all! On Tuesday it was an amazing sunny day with beautiful sunset but we had to go out to watch it instead of enjoying it from the pool. In order to make the place more neutral/stylish they should provide swimwear for the guests otherwise it feels tasteless that people are walking around with strings(especially during winter time) in my opinion. Breakfast was ok, nothing extraordinary, a bit spread out but ok. All in all it was a pleasant experience. Would I go back? No!

Not a bad hotel and beach club for Swedish standards, food was standout and the choice of wines. The hotel does lack in service for young families staying at the hotel. I found the small talk from the hotel to be unprofessional, I don't feel being called babe and flirting with guests to be appropriate. All in all, we gave the hotel a 6 out of 10 rating, Ellery Beach House seems to prefer to be cool over providing an expected service to guests staying there.
