We had a great experience at NR. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast was great as well, which included many local ingredients. François was a wonderful host and helped us in numerous ways. The area is beautiful, too, with lots of excellent hiking trails and beautiful lakes to explore. I highly recommend staying.

We immediately felt welcome at Nordic Refuge! The house and surroundings are beautiful and relaxing to just be in. François took great care of us (and our bikes, which were put in a safe place). Our 3-year old son also loved it.

I stayed from 10 -15 juli 23 in the beautiful B&B Nordic Refuge. Totally and very tasteful renovated without losing caracter. 50/60-ies furniture completes it. My room was spacious and the bathroom very luxury. Breakfast with local products is superb and served on the balcony when possible. Ärrsjö, the beautiful lake in the distance. The host, François, is very helpful. Just Perfect!

We stayed two nights at Nordic Refuge and it really made our trip to Dalsland so special. The rooms are really fresh and spacious and the hotel is in the perfect location for hiking, swimming and exploring the area. We got so many great tips from François about places to visit in the area and hidden gems we never would have found by ourselves!

We had a wonderful time at the nordic refuge. We stayed there for 4 nights with our 6 years old son. We enjoyed the view from our room ("south"), the breakfast with a variety of very tasty and local products, the friendly way François and Anne approach their guests and of course the well location of the b&b. Perfect to explore the neighbourhood. We found it also a great asset that you can close the door of the b&b behind you and directly can start walking (for instance to "not quiet") or go for a swim, also on walking distance. We did the wild cooking, offered as a package by François and Anne and it was such a nice experience. Our son also adored it. We would highly recommend it. Ellen, Ruben & Tuur

We spent 2 nights with our kids at Nordic Refuge. The rooms were large with minimalist furniture. The host Francois was very kind and helpful. We had a wonderful time and will go back again.

We were there for our anniversary get away and absolutely loved the lake facing 'south' room we got. The room was humongous, and I mean it, compared to any standard room size we have lived in so far. The high ceilings are a bonus. Watching the sun rise from the room window was the icing on the cake. All the other rooms are equally huge and most of them have a children's room that can be booked. The kids, 10 and 15 year old, were thrilled to get a room with beds that were more like their private nooks. Though they had their own room, our room was so big that they ended up staying in the same room till it was time to sleep. And they loved exploring the details in the dining area: Bang and Olofsson radio dating back to the 60s and the Japanese binoculars in particular. Enjoyed some really long conversations with Francois at the breakfast table. He is fabulous host. Loved talking about all the details he has lovingly incorporated. The best was the single serve glass containers with lids in which he served the yummy breakfast, oat milk soaked chia seeds, berries, fresh bread, butter, jam, and the perfectly done hot eggs. A must stay if visiting Dalsland.
