Wow, splendid premises, outstanding service and the food stunning. Photos should do it justice until I update my review

This was a great venue for lunch. We went to the greenhouse restaurant. We were served well at our table by lovely people. We had the chicken skewers, garfish and a pizza. All were generous serves and we had no complaints. The atmosphere is great for talking without too much noise. The decor is very light and colourful.

We went to the Feathers Hotel restaurant on 19th Jan 2022 for dinner. There were 4 of us and we had dined here a number of times previously. We had just about given up coming here as most of the meals previously had not been very good. This time there was a brand new menu and, we understand, a brand new Chef. The difference was amazing. The food was excellent in taste and presentation. I had the Rack of Lamb as did another of our group. My wife had the Mushroom (vegan) dish despite not being vegan and the fourth person had a Chicken Schnitzel. All of us were pleasantly surprised and said they were excellent meals. The only weird thing was the schnitzel had, as requested, veggies substituted for chips and we were told it might cost an extra $1. Why bother for $1 to leave us with that amount in our heads? Not worth the breath to say it. I don't even know if it was charged or not as it is so small an amount not to register in my brain. We will definitely be returning. Congratulations to the staff for attentive service and to the Chef for a massive improvement to the food.

I stand to be corrected but there seems to be a change in the style of food. The first time I went it seems more classical style modern cuisine but now it’s more hotel / pub style food - which I didn’t mind. Kitchen was a bit slow

Very disappointing experience... terrible customer service. Tried to call the waiter over several times but they kept ignoring us despite clearly being able to see us waving our hand around. Eventually he walked over to speak to us after we literally had to shout out to him to be served - just to be told that there's no table service. Well they should've advised this from the beginning so we didn't waste all that time waiting to be served. Food took super long time, 40minutes later they served 3 meals out of 4. Apparently the 4th meal had to be remade cos it wasn't "good enough" , so one person had no food to eat while the other 3 started their meals already. My friends main meal was tiny , you would've thought it's an entree, not main. My crab pasta had no crab but bacon instead, which was ridiculous because in what universe would you serve bacon in a crab linguine?!? When we finished our meal and headed towards the exit, we walked past at least 4 different staff, none of which bothered to say thank you or bye etc.,as though we were invisible to them -rude. Very disappointing (and expensive) meal made worse with terrible customer service. What a wasted afternoon and a waste of money.

Had to update this as recently was there and witnessed something quite extraordinary. Saw a manager behave very unprofessional, being extremely rude because some patrons who came in weren't wearing masks. They said they had exemptions but she carried on and refused service as well as the bad behaviour. As far as I'm aware you can't be refused service if you're medically exempt wearing a mask. Very poor behaviour by this manager and a very poor reflection on the hotel.

Booked a table of 22 for a birthday gathering on a Thursday night. Everything went extremely well, food terrific and promptly served. Despite being a cool night the heaters kept the area at a perfect temperature. Great bar service, especially from Oscar, very friendly, accommodating and capable young man! The group had a great time. Thanks

Delightful and innovative dishes (visually, taste, aroma) from entrees, mains and dessert. Front of house were courteous and friendly, and we loved the indoor decor/ atmosphere. We'll be back!

Unfortunately my family and I did not have a good experience here tonight. It begun when we tried to order a poke bowl which had a vegan option marked next to it. We were then told the $29 poke bowl which had yellow fin tuna in it, would be $38 if we removed the tuna and had tofu instead. We couldn’t understand why the tuna couldn’t be subbed for tofu when tofu is a markedly cheaper product to buy. We instead opted to share a pizza and add vegan cheese. The pizza came out drenched in oil and while yummy just made us feel heavy and yucky after eating. We also asked the waitress for two share plates which she never brought to us. Overall this was a truly unenjoyable dinner out with our family.

We always have such a positive experience at The Feathers. We had the pleasure of spending Christmas Day there and the team and food was incredible. It alleviated the usuals stress and run around for the occasion. The glass house is a stunning venue and the refurb with the booths for the front bar is great. The staff are friendly and helpful and the bottle shop is also excellent. They even let me byo my alcohol free wine which makes them way ahead of the times than most Adelaide venues.

My partner and I were eating an AB at home that we ordered last night and left in the fridge overnight, which he said tasted like dogfood, ‘let’s go out to the pub and get a feed and a few drinks.’ We ordered two bloody Mary’s which took over 15 minutes to come to the table, as well as a jug of passionfruit cocktail, which tasted like sweet passionfruit cordial. I expected for the price of $28 for a wagyu beef Burger and fries that the fries would have at least had some salt or seasoning, as well as the burger, bacon undercooked, meat burnt, soggy bun on the inside, and so soft on the outside that it crippled. Had to put a chewy in my mouth as soon as I finished eating (a few bites) because the residual taste of burnt meat tasted so awful. Terrible experience, will not be back again. In conclusion, overpriced and tasteless, a shame for such a nicely set out area, so much wasted potential. Should have stayed home and eaten the cold AB.

Invited my father out to dinner this Monday to celebrate something. A nice quiet night, no more than 20 people total in the bistro/beer garden/restaurant. My father and I both ordered a medium-rare steak each and my partner ordered the Portuguese chicken. Everything came out in a timely fashion but my steak was honestly the most burnt steak I have ever seen (and I am a bloody chef) I proceeded to cut it open and with no surprise, it was med-well bordering on well done with the entire sear turned to char. I asked the lovely FOH for another as this is inedible and proceeded to watch my family eat and enjoy their meals for the next forty minutes. and what was supposed to be a celebration turned into me drooling over their dinner and me eating alone. Thanks but no thanks Feathers. Will not take the drive next time. It’s just not worth it.

A very nice place to go for a meal. It showed they worked hard to find good chefs and good service. The deserts were above standard for pub style, and the my main (lamb on a stick) was delicious. I don’t eat out often, so it’s nice to have a reliable place to go to, knowing I will leave full and satisfied. We will be back.

Cannot speak highly enough of Hadyn our function coordinator and Mason and the team who made our work function last night in the Pavilion a huge success. Food and service were equally wonderful. Thank you everyone. 🙏

Place was beautiful, beautiful lights and lovely people. But the food was terrible and not worth the money. I ordered a porterhouse steak and it was overcooked and burnt around the sides. Everyone on my table who ordered that dish did not enjoy it.

Nice open place with separate sections that that can accommodate a larger group booking with lots of space. Loved the scallops and ribs. A couple of steaks and burgers more well done than medium - rare but they were quickly replaced.

Eggplant parmigiana - half a jar of napolitana sauce and some mozzarella poured over mushy eggplant on a plate three times too big for the size of this rather unappealing dish. In my experience the only food worth ordering here is the pizza

We held a function at Feathers on the 6/11/22 and I cannot find a single fault with the Feathers team. From the moment we walked in we were treated like royalty. The staff were so friendly and helpful, they had close contact with us all day about any changes. They were also super attentive to ensuring those guests with dietary needs were taken care of. The space is gorgeous and the food was amazing!!! We received so many compliments from guests. Feathers Hotel has got to be the most affordable venue in Adelaide to have a function and the staff absolutely go above and beyond. Seriously cannot recommend more highly.

Had dinner there with a group of friends last Friday night. The Chicken Skewers were amazing! Prices were moderate (my main was $35), servings were a good size and the wine prices weren't too bad either. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

we ordered six eye filet (14 days dry aged) and medium but they were half well done half rare and the quality wasn't good. also they forgot two of the orders and made it so late at the end, we paid premium but service and food was average. hope you take this feedback in a positive way.

The food was good. The service was not. No waiter will come to you to serve you have to go out of your way to get their attention. We have been back twice now and first visit I thought it may have been because they were busy but we returned at a quieter time and still the same. You’d just think the customers wouldn’t have been an after thought in a restaurant

Good food good environment. Worst service of all time, if i could do 0 stars I would. Seems like the staff are allergic to doing their job? What is going on in the place will my plate ever be cleared or my water refilled? Its been two hours now

Busy night. Drinks a little slow with table service. Food was good but not outstanding. The prawn dumpling looked and smelt amazing. Lamb skewers went cold before getting half way through meal. Salt and pepper squid was tender. Atmosphere was good. Staffing was a bit of an issue but the place was extremely busy. Enjoyed the night as a whole

We hosted a Bridal shower lunch in the Garden Bar and it was the perfect day. Hayden and Christian were incredibly friendly, helpful and accomodating and made the day run seamlessly, we are so thankful. The food was delicious and the space was perfect for our group.

lovely experience in Feathers! I've been here long ago, had chance to visit again lately thanks to my friend. I didn't have such a nice experience on my first visit, however I was impressed this time so much! food in greenhouse was another level, Especially loved Tuna bowl so much!!, service was great, interior renovation is very modern and cozy. I'd love to visit this place again with my family! such a huge improvement!

Party of 5 including two Grand daughters who actually chose the venue. They liked the sound of the name! They also joined in with the Wednesday Whingers Club which meets regularly on a Wednesday each week, in various venues around Adelaide, to chat and whinge about topics of interest, but we can only complain or whinge on Wednesdays and have to save whinges during the rest of the week. The twins meals were excellent and they will go back. Staff were great and accommodating, even chipped in with some garlic bread because we had to wait a little longer than usual, they, (venue staff), said.

Thoroughly enjoyed lunch here. Ordered the southern style chicken burger and chicken tenders. Food/alcohol was reasonably priced. Had heating above our seating, making the experience much more enjoyable. Service was fast and friendly.

As usual i found the service, the surroundings and the meals to be of the highest standard. It was a pleasure as expected, and my international clients we entertained there on Monday evening were most impressed. Very well done. You should be very proud of the management and venue staff. Kind Regards Mike

Beautiful venue, love the focus on south Australian wine. However, in the restaurant, we were left unsure if it was table service or if we had to go up and order due to how slow the service was. It took two hours for our mains to arrive and they were served without cutlery. Food was reasonably priced for the mains but I wouldn’t order starters again. Staff were friendly enough. All in all we wouldn’t go back there in a hurry.

They said don’t take bookings in front bar for Father’s Day but the table I went at 11:30am to hold was already RESERVED… how does that work? Wouldn’t close door with cold air blasting in till owner said it’s ok to keep customers warm…asked for extra soft cooked vege for dad with no teeth, they forgot. Oh and they forgot to serve my steak. Thanks for a great Father’s Day lunch And then my steak came out well done instead of rare, next attempt was rare but poor quality meat was still extremely chewy.

Limited menu, would prefer if half the menu was not breakfast options. Pizza is great but if you are not in the mood for pizza or breakfast then maybe head to restaurant next door.

Great venue and environment but mediocre food ad service. Staff did not make me feel welcome and were aloof, and for the price, the food is okay but nothing special. This venue has huge potential if food and service could be improved.

Had luch at this hotel on a Sunday and the hotel has lots of different settings like Pavilion for chill and hipster vibe for brunch and dinner. Terrace and a sports bar is also there for different groups. They could do better with knowledgeable and polite staff. I ordered a sirloin medium rare and it was more on the well done side and served without a stake knife, I have to go and ask at the counter for the knife even though I was tried really to the staffs attention. Ok experience.

This was a terribly disappointing dinner. The meal that was on the menu as Pork Loin was undercooked pulled pork on a tasteless pea mash. My wife and the other gentleman who ordered this could not eat their meals. This was pointed out to wait staff. Unfortunately there apparently was no one in authority and the matter was dealt with appallingly. My wife and the other gentleman then ordered a pizza, so they could at least share a meal. This was resolved with one pork dish being removed from the bill, but still being charged for the other pork dish and the pizza. Highly unsatisfactory. Others of us ordered the fish and chips, which was on the menu as fish, chips and salad. We had the fish, four minute servings, we had the salad, about four leaves and we had the BIG bowl of chips. A very cheap way of putting together a $24 meal. Nine of us ate and drank, so the restaurant made money out of us. It was just a shame the food and service was very sadly lacking.

Hubby had the chicken Maryland, very disappointing. I’ve had a little taste and it tasted like left over chicken that has been reheated. I’ve heard excellent things about the quality of food , but it was shocking. For that price, you hope you’d get something better.

Simple well maintained pub complex set up with a recently built ~50 seat enclosed beer garden attached to a vintage two storey hotel with cafe next door and very pleasant decor throughout. The big screen in the beer garden is good for sports, and I've seen footy and soccer displayed. There's also a refined restaurant in the original building, something I'd like to do in the near future if I can find a good reason. Staff are friendly and the selection of tap drinks is good but they recently underwent some changes, removing some of their more special choices. Those choices weren't delivering in terms of sales I guess. I understand there's accommodation upstairs, and I've been told that you can view before booking. Covid might have changed that temporarily, but I like the idea of a small collection of well maintained rooms. The seating out the front of the cafe is wooden picnic style with umbrellas that shade mostly in the middle of the day, but if you get it just right with the sun setting and a gentle breeze blowing through, it can be very nice indeed. It was my regular for a long time and my situation changed some time ago. Now I'm meeting a friend there regularly and even if we change the arrangement I think I'll just keep going there regardless, it's a good place to chill.

We came to the Pavilion for dinner for my daughters birthday. We had a booking for 12. The staff were great, very accommodating. We couldn't fault the pizza's in fact the bases were one of the best we have had. The only feedback I could give is that the fish and chips took some time to come out which meant that one person was left waiting for dinner while others were eating the pizza. I would visit again based on my experience.

Have not been to The Feathers Hotel in year's!! Amazing, we had lunch in the Pavilion restaurant. It was a cool day but can imagine the blinds up and the atmosphere would be excellent. Great food, professional staff and a good feel to the hotel. Certainly will be going back. Cheer's

Met friends for lunch here in the beer garden recently! I noted that it was roughly 35 years since my last visit to this well known icon! Obliging staff and a good, varied menu. Excellent car parking facilities and very central for members of my group! We will return soon and try one of the other dining areas!

Just at the Pavilion at the Feathers for coffee, a wine and a quick catch up with friends. The layout is excellent allowing us to talk easily with each other against muted background music and plenty of room between tables, so little cross talk. The service was very good. Great tasting coffee at the right temperature. A lovely couple of hours had by all.

I've been here a few times over the years and it's always been a positive experience. The food is nothing special and in my opinion the serving sizes could be a tad bigger, but the chips are always really good (crisp and extra salty, the way they should be!). Quiz night Mondays are a nice addition, and during the day the pavilion is a nice hangout, and coffees were surprisingly good. Overall, a nice eastern suburb pub, with a nice setting and menu. Will be back (for quiz night Mondays!)

We came here to celebrate my daughters graduation. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We were made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Great food, great atmosphere, great dining experience. It was my second time here and I would definitely be dining at The Feathers again. Highly recommend this place for any occasion.

We came here for lunch to celebrate my nieces 21st birthday and sat in the Greenhouse Restaurant area, which is light and bright and beautifully furnished (and with a central fireplace!) We were made to feel very welcome by the staff who were friendly, polite and professional. Nothing was too much trouble and it was lovely to be served by people who know that working in hospitality means that you need to be 'hospitable'! The menu had plenty of choices and the food was excellent - my husband said it was the best steak he had eaten in a very long time and that he would return just for the steak. It is a beautiful hotel and the recent upgrade/refurbishment has been done with respect for the historical significance of the building. We had a great time and will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

The crisp fish and Pizza was very good, tasty and hot. However they were served without cutlery. My coffee with equal was served with side sugar and no tea spoon. Our friend’s coffee was very late 40 minutes so they asked for a refund. Another friend had a very cold mocha. Mixed orders. And some waiters were very slow.

Very nice setting in the glasshouse. You can hear music, bit it's not overpowering. Gas fire keeping it warm. Service is excellent. The food is reasonably good. Perhaps a little underseasoned for my taste . Well worth the visit though.

We celebrated a 70th on Sunday, the service and meals were equally great. Especially as they were catering for two other private functions. The menu is a good selection and NOT the regular pub food, the selection of beers on tap also rate a good mention

Sadly this meal experience was very poor. It began with Cold mushroom sauce. Which was Re heated on request.Chicken Parmi was bland Inedible pizza.... actually tasted like it was something wrong with the dough . Was Offered a refund. Garlic bread Was terrible.... there was no butter letalone garlic . However it was refunded. Overall though as the refund was given I still feel like I would not return for another meal Except for for the cold beer, The wedges , and I do like the setting. Sorry guys It was really not a great dining experience. Well done to the guy behind the bar for resolving an otherwise worse review in this case. Wish I took his name Thursday 18th 2024 .... hope he gets appreciated for saving your arse Chef!! 🙂
