Video of Koala 🐨 in this review, along with epic birds and ducks 🦆👌🏼 The fact that Morialta is a 10 minute drive from the CBD is one of many reasons why Adelaide is one of the best city’s to live in on planet earth. The photos and videos in this review really don’t do it justice as this is really the family friendly (most common) walk you can take. It’s a beautiful walk where you can see a cave and waterfall. That being said, it’s really really good and always memorable. You can’t fault the location and the experience. But!!! And a big massive but, if you don’t have a 4 year old with you like I did today, the walking trails are absolutely amazing. There are multiple skills / fitness levels and I would recommend every single one of them. I have taken multiple 2-3 hr hikes here is it’s like you experience a lot of Australia 🇦🇺 in one awesome hike 🥾 Absolutely incredible and it’s a reminder of how diverse the landscape is in South Australia. Parking is good. Facilities like toilets / restrooms is good. Today there was a coffee ☕️/ food cart there. Safety is good. The natives and I’m touched wilderness is the best a conservation park could possibly offer.

What an amazing place so close to the city of Adelaide. It is very easy to find and access. Not a huge amount of parking, but if you're prepared to walk a bit further, that isn't a problem. There are multiple access points, picnic areas, and toilets, as well as different graded walks. The one to the Falls is fairly easy and takes less than an hour return. Beautiful trees and lots of birdlife too. There is also a mobile food van at the Falls carpark. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and will definitely visit more often.

Amazing place to hike 🧗🏻 For over 100 years, the gorges, waterfalls and woodlands of Morialta have provided a recreational escape for walkers and rock climbers just 10km from the city of Adelaide. Enjoy the rugged ridges, gully scenery and seasonal waterfalls that make up Morialta Conservation Park. The three waterfalls along Fourth Creek are popular features of the park and are linked by an extensive network of walking trails. The views from the rock climbing zone also provide opportunities to admire Morialta Gorge and the nearby Adelaide plains. The first two falls are the grandest, each cascading over sheer quartzite cliffs after rain. To see the falls at their best, visit the park during spring or winter when the water flow is strongest. For wildlife lovers, the park's rock pools and creeks provide habitat for small reptiles, frogs and birds. Watch out for honeyeaters and thornbills among the woodlands that cover the hills. Adelaide’s biggest playground 'Mukanthi' can be found in the Stradbroke Road picnic area. There are five play areas to explore: Frog Island, Eagle’s Perch, Great Snake, Bird Nests, climbing boulders, paths and climbing trees. The playspace has a focus on natural materials and experiences to challenge a range of ages.

Very impressed! So close to the city with so many easy to walk attractions within it. Mark this as spot to go if you come to adeliade!

Beautiful park so close to the city. The amenities for the kids are amazing! There must be 3-4 separate play areas. We went on the basic walk to the waterfall and saw a few koalas and wallabies all within a kilometre. Great easy walk with the family, but they have more advanced walks if you're into that thing.

Great place to go on a hike. There 4 different walking tracks. The four walking tracks are of four different levels starting from easy to hard. There is a nice waterfall. You can walk up to the top of the waterfall. There are koalas all around. It’s cold and calm inside. Plenty of parking and there’s a food truck too.

Great spot to visit. Has easy and medium level style hikes. Plenty of parking located lower down in the park. For the more difficult hikes you can get great rolling views of the valley and waterfall. Definitely recommended.

Travelled from CBD via public transport which was very easy. Stops right at the start of the park. Walks are well marked and a number of different walks so can find something that fills your needs. I did three falls hike which was nice. Good views, and even looking as far back as Adelaide city. Reasonable standard of fitness required for that walk. Isn't a long walk but some steep sections and the ground is quite rocky. First time seeing Koalas in the wild. They are amazingly close to the track.

I recently went on a hike in Morialta Conservation Park and it was absolutely stunning. The trails were well-marked and easy to navigate, and the scenery was breathtaking. From the picturesque waterfalls to the stunning views from the mountaintop, every step of the way was filled with natural beauty. The park is also well-maintained, with clean facilities and ample parking. I would highly recommend Morialta Conservation Park to anyone looking for a peaceful and scenic outdoor adventure in Adelaide. Definitely worth the visit!

Had an absolutely amazing hike there were 3 waterfalls but I only did the one today. This was my first time here and really didn’t want to get lost 😂 even tho they had a few maps, and signs pointing to the direction of where you would end up. But still breathtaking I didn’t want to leave I was snapping photos left and right. Surprised Hubby didn’t leave me behind. Definitely worth a go. There’s so much to discover ❤️ Enjoy

Beautiful hiking spot in Adelaide with easy access by public transport! Magnificent waterfalls in the winter times and great views of both Adelaide and the conservation park at some viewing platforms. The main trail from the car park to the first falls is all paved and great for walks with young children in strollers! Make sure to take the steps up to the giants cave on this trail! The other dirt trails are quite rocky meaning that for most of the hike you’ll be looking down at the path before you and it can’t be accessed by those with prams/strollers etc but overall a great place for weekend hikes.

Beautiful place to do hike or just having a coffee in thé middle of the nature. We did the Third waterfalls hike which was Amazing. We coudn't see the last one because we were bloked by too much water on the river. One Big rock was on the middle of the path probably because of the Bad weather of those last days.

Gorgeous park with loads of koalas. Keep a lookout in the tops of the trees. There are lots of different walks depending on your time and ability level. The first waterfall walk is very easy and suitable for most people.

Love walking here! Beautiful different length walks. The views are mega. It's hilly so you will need to have some leg strength. Car parking can be hard but there are lovely walking lanes up to the start of the hikes.

Excellent park with hiking trails and picnic areas. The main attraction is First Falls which even had a trickle of water at the end of summer. The track is pram friendly and an easy walk for most people. And on the way back we so no fewer than six koalas sleeping in the trees close to the track. We also climbed the stairs to the cave, which was worth the effort. We're keen to return when the falls have more water.

I adored my hike here. We did the Three Falls Hike, although it was easier than we expected. Beautiful scenery; you can see waterfalls, mountains, and the city. There's plenty of wildlife throughout. I can't wait for my next visit!

Beautiful part of the world. Saw 5 Koala's.... woop woop, they arent native to WA. The falls are pretty, not sure if it dries up in summer, we were there in mid October. Loads of bird life is special to see. Great little hike to the falls.

Great Hiking trails for all levels with lots of Koala spotting! First Falls is pram friendly! I hiked up Third Falls and was pleasantly surprised with the height of the trail. I loved the fact that you could see across to the other side and see other people walking along too. The trails are easily labelled and colour coded with an abundance to cross over to other trails very easily.

Great location for a small walk or decent hike; close to the city yet surrounded by nature, we even caught a glimpse of a Red-Headed Mouse Spider... Very busy on weekends making parking tight. The introduced Koalas seem to thrive here, so leave your doggies at home!

It is amongst the nice local weekend destinations. You can take your family to some exciting hiking trails, creeks on huge mountains. With various points to cover like first falls, top of first falls, second falls, Giants cave etc, make your walk exciting. You will also see birds and koalas on the way on the trees.

Pros : (1) Great place for family walk (2) great place for kids to play and enjoy (3) great place to see nature (4) good walking trail , it gets harder when you go next level for fall to see Cons : (1) Not enough parking in holidays (2) Not enough space to stand while watching n enjoying the fall. It gets crowdy to quickly.

When you feel like to take a hike, but not a exhausting one than definitely you would feel to visit this place. Of course don’t go on my words but i did felt a good vibe at the Morialta Conversation Park. I mean what’s not to like to have a good time with your family here. If you have children they have plenty of playground to play around. If you are into walking or just looking to sweat it out, the walkable area is good around. Also deep inside you would be surprised to see the waterfall and if lucky enough than you may find the wild koalas around just minding their own business on a branch of the tree. But to sum it up I had great weekend at the Morialta Conversation Park.

The first time that we came here the falls were dry being summer, this time they were flowing well. Great (free) carpark with clean toilets, koalas lounging around in the trees, and a beaut coffee and snack van there the day we visited. The First Falls walk is fairly easy and can be done with a wheelchair if you take it easy over the one or two wet patches you might find.

The winter in South Australia is from June to August. On average, August has the most rain, and about half of the time it will be rainy. Is it easy to feel depressed in winter In fact, this activity is very suitable for this kind of weather! 🔶 Hike to see MORIALTA PARK waterfall It has always been a well-loved leisure resort, offering many attractions and activities for everyone. Enjoy the fun of exploring streams, woodlands, canyons and charming waterfalls, allowing you to feel away from the city. This hike can see all three waterfalls in Morialta Conservation Park. Start at the top parking lot, or you can start at the lower parking lot on Stradbroke Road and follow the Creek Walk on Four Creek to the top parking lot. Along the Morialta Falls Valley Walk you can reach the first waterfall with the most amazing view, and the other two waterfalls are also nearby. In addition, you can also overlook the entire landscape of the three major waterfalls from the Eagle Nest Lookout. Distance: 5.39 km Time: 1.5 hours Location: Morialta Conservation Park (Less than 30 minutes by car from Adelaide)

Easy to get to and not too far from the city at all. Various walking trails. Toilets on site. BBQ area on the main road before you drive up to the park. We saw and heard a variety of birds as well as a wallaby. Unfortunately the waterfall was dry early March. The rock face and general surrounds were spectacular to look at all the same.Had an incredible 1hr hike up and down one of the mountains. The views were breathtaking!

I really enjoy hiking here. Trails are wide and safe, with a mix of easy to challenging. Very well maintained and a great place to take the camera for some photos. You can get up really close to the first falls for some great shots.

  • 5/5 Andrew C. 2 years ago on Google
The best national park 15 minutes from the CBD. Multiple trails keep it less congested than Mt Lofty and the unsealed trail gives your walk a more natural feel. Stroll along the fairly gentle path to the base of the Falls or challenge yourself on the many looped walks. Great after rain when the waterfalls are at their best. Can get busy on nice weather days when carparking overflows.

Just planned to wander around in nature but ended up completing the 3rd trek. It's tempting. Lemme warn ya, once you're there there's no going back. But you won't regret it. Just prefer to go on a more breezy and cloudy day instead of sunny to enjoy it to the fullest.

beautiful place of tranquil nestled in the lovely foothills of adelaide easy to really hard walking trails short or long up to 8hrs 3 lovely waterfalls but only flow when it rains and a great pinic area for families with lots of exploring to be had by younger children

  • 5/5 Kav T. 9 months ago on Google
Great place for different types of hikes! There is a hike to match each and everyone! The first falls plateau home is suitable for kids and families as well and you can even push a pram along and go see the first falls! During winter season the water fall will be in its full glory and beautiful! The second and third falls hike is good for avid hikers and someone looking for a bit of a longer walk and adventure! Weekends the main car park can be full but there are few other small car parks along the way! Lots of koalas 🐨 and if you are a good Koala spotter can spot few Koalas every time!! I have some beautiful photos and videos to upload, but unfortunately google maps not allowing me to upload photos at the moment. I have to give full access to my gallery, I have given selective access and that doesn’t seem to work!

Awesome place where I spotted my first wild koala. And let me tell you, the hiking paths there offer some seriously amazing views. I think this place is pretty special. It's got everything you could want - cute koalas, stunning waterfalls, and cave.

This is a hidden gem park. Lots of hiking options and less crowded than Waterfall Gully. A short hike to first falls that is pram accessible is a great rewards and very likely will see some koalas on the trail too. Lots of other trails that I've yet to explore but look forward too. Not too much parking right at the entrance but still a decent amount if you don't go on a busy summer holiday.

One of the greatest parks in the naberhood of adelaide. You shoot go there. We were there on a Monday. It was quit en not busy on the hike. You can choose more difficulty hikes. The thirhgt waterfall hike is the toughest. The hike are good signed. You can't walked in the wrong direction. There are Koalas's in the tree's. So watch!

I have been coming to Morialta for years now. Unlike other hiking trails it never feels overcrowded and there are so many different trails to choose from. You always feel like you're seeing something new, and depending on how much time you have or what difficulty you are after, theirs trails for all levels. If you haven't visited here yet, all I can say is you're missing out.

Easy 850m walk from entrance to the 1st waterfall. The waterfall is underwhelming but likely due to this is right smack into summer and very hot weather so water flow will be slow. However, pleasant surprise to catch a glimpse of a sleeping Koala on a gum tree.

A quick getaway from the city, this park offers multiple trails to hike, from easy to strenuous ones. Head up to the park if you enjoy hikes. Just keep in mind that on days when the weather is great, you might have a hard time finding a spot in the car park.

Numerous walking trails, some steep hikes, beautiful falls, massive trees, creek gushing with water, greenery in abundance and varied wildlife. Morialta has everything. So close to city and yet it feels an untouched world on its own. Must visit.

What a beautiful environment for a picnic with the family, especially when the weather is perfect! I wish I was fit enough to do the walk the trail that lead to Morialta Falls. I'm hoping by the next time we go, it'll be possible. Although next time, we will go prepared specifically for trail walking, so we won't pack a picnic, we'll simply show up to walk. This way we won't have to worry about either lugging our picnic gear around with us, or walking back to the car to drop off our gear before setting off. The car park was under construction when we visited so we had a bit of a walk from the car to the park as it was. It's a great place to get the family off devices and back in touch with nature. I'm glad I read previous reviews and noted that there were in fact no rubbish bins available, so I brought my own bags along to fill and take back with me to dispose of.

It was great being here trekking in the woods listening to the sound of the waterfall. The giants cave is at the initial stage of the tracks. There are four different main tracks to take. While the first track is a basic walk, the other three are hard tracks taking more than 1hr for return.

  • 5/5 Kenzie B. 1 year ago on Google
We took our 3 and 1 year old here and they had the best time. My 3 year old loved exploring the water and dropping leaves into the river. We had our 1 year old in a carrier but you could take a pram to the first waterfall as the path is pretty flat. Some bonuses- take away coffee spot, toilets and good parking. Lots of walking path options and stunning scenery

First time I have been here and I loved it. Morialta conservation park is beautiful place to visit with sensational views of the waterfalls, gully’s and steep cliff faces from the lookouts on the second falls hiking loop. There is also a sensational viewing platform below the first falls. There is a hike that goes around the outside with great views of the Adelaide skyline.
