My cousin & I were waiting for the bus across the street & saw 'empanadas' written in the front, the Hispanic in me told to run over there to get some. We ordered gandule rice & pasteles & wow that was amazing, tasted just like my culture. Staff was great, I was short a dollar or 2 & the employee at the front told me it was ok & gave my food anyways 😭 I will return for more!!

Wat Get has awesome pastele plates! The Hapa plate has Gandule rice, Bacalao salad and a pastele. So far everyone I know who has tried it, has loved it! There is no real seating except for 2 stools at an outside counter. It is well worth the trip to Waipahu (if you are not already there).

Ive seen the "pastele" sign on the window of this store and thought to myself man I need to go there one day. Well, today was that day. The guy who helped me, I believe his name was Cody is so friendly. It was nice talking to him while my food was being prepared. THE FOOD IS SO GOOD. If you love Pastele and Panadillas like I do, it is a must try. I have a feeling I will be a regular here since I only work down the road.

Very friendly! I was completely unfamiliar with this kind of food, so he explained me what it's made of and I could even try some of his delicious food for free!

You can tell their food is made with love right when you take that first bite. The lady that made our plates was so helpful and I could tell she loved to see all her customers happy. The quantity of food in a plate is just right, not too much and not no more enough. This was my first time eating here and I'm already thinking of when I want to come back. Definitely will recommend this place to alot of people.

Your gandule rice is amazing. I use to go there, 6 years ago. I miss your gandule rice. I now reside at Alaska, and there is no gandule rice here. I would love to have your recipe, so I can make for my family only.

It's true the food here WAS very good. But lately it's hasn't been the same. Although still somewhat enjoyable, the food has lost some flavor and has become a bit greasy. Don't know what changed but I do hope it'll SOON go back to how it used to be. As for customer service... It too has changed. I understand when you're left to work/run the restaurant by yourself everything can get very overwhelming, frustrating & hectic. But whatever the reason, taking it out on your customer(s) is wrong. Whatever the reason for the recent unfortunate decline in both food & atmosphere I honestly will pray for Wat Get Kitchen in hopes that next time I go there things will be back up to par & tasting the way it used to, so frickin good! Take care God bless Stay healthy Just wanted to ask IF you folks have ever used CORN BEEF 😂 n your wonderful pastele? Reason I'm inquiring is my family & I ate at Jackie's, unfortunately you folks were closed. & I thought their pastele tasted weird. Well it was because they used CORN BEEF🤨 inquiring minds want to know, lol

Don’t come here if you are looking for ambience and mediocre food! DO come here if you are craving delicious pastele & gandule rice! Pricing is fair for the hefty plate. Healthy alternative for me & my keiki especially for what’s in the area! Remember cash only! Plan to order over the phone, pull up, pay & hele to the park near by (plantation village) to enjoy! Lady at the counter (sorry I forgot her name) was nice & super helpful recommending other small businesses in the area! Please remember this is a small business..that means consider a wait time longer than 10 mins & say Mahalo when you receive good service!

Anytime I’m in Waipahu I try to stop by and get some Wat Get. Pateles, gandule rice, bacalao salad - perfectly balanced meal, each packed with amazing flavors. Service is always amazing as well. They treat you like family that welcomed you into their own kitchen. It’s nice to be able to see into their kitchen and see where the food is made. Took my meal to go (saving it for dinner). They made sure to let me know the best way to reheat and serve it. Gave recommendations for what to do with leftovers (no shame, grab extra). Explained to me a little history behind Puerto Rican food in Hawaii. Sorry not better pictures, we just ate it all too quick.
