Went with my son and daughter, the venue were getting ready for a wedding! Before we could come in they Insisted on 45euros cash! The museum was great, video was terrible! The wine tasting was dismal as the red wine bottle was only 1/4 full: had been open last day or so, we had a thinball, less than a shot in each tasting, no notes or knowledge! If you want to taste wine got to the local mini market spend 30euros and have three bottles of wine to enjoy at your accommodation. Don’t go here. It’s a rip off !!!!!terrible experience

I don't know why this is a museum? There is nothing interesting. You have to pay a minimum of 5 euro and you can watch the movie . At the end it you pay extra you can taste and buy some wine.

Small museum showing the history of wine in Cyprus. The exhibition is just one room, so it won't take you long to go through it. You can see many historic exhibits with lots of background info. So if you are around this area it is a nice stop in between. Afterwards you can also try some of the wines the museum produces. We were here off season, so we were the only visitors at that time. During high season it can be quite crowded.

Well, it's not really a museum. It's rather a local house with some remaining from the region and few information on the wine production. The "guided tour" is a 2 minutes explanation on the stuff around + a 10 minutes presentation related mostly to the wine consumption. The nice thing was to the possibility to taste the local wine (for extra charge). In summary it's more a way to interact with the locals and get few information than exploring the cypriot eine culture.

Love this place. Cozy little museum with very friendly hosts, it feels like a visit to friends. Various range of wines for degustation. Commandaria is our favourite.

A nice location near Limassol. Not so big museum with collection of bottles, glasses, tools. Wine tasting in the end of excursion in warm atmosphere is a wonderful experience for everyone

I had a very nice experience visiting the wine museum. If you're into history and wine, this is the place. It is a small museum, which is an easy stop if you are just passing by. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I would recommend wine tasting! They even have grape juice options for the kids, or small bottles for purchase to take back to your hotel. I would recommend visiting before grape harvest (September-October) as they have a very nice grape vines, that when fruiting would look amazing.

A nice place where you can hear the story of wine in Cyprus and have some information. You find some old tools for wine making. I was expecting something bigger and more interesting but it is always good to visit if you are a wine lover.

Wonderful little museum about the rich history of wine in Cyprus with a small but very worth it fee. Right near the Kolossi Castle so it's easy to do both in a trip. Very friendly owner and staff, and good wine tasting selection. Everything you taste is available for purchase, and after asking the bar tender we learned they partner with local wineries to make their own museum labeled wines.

Fascinating little museum with an extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic owner. Not to be missed if you have any interest in wine. Perfect level of information to give you an overview of the history of Cyprus wine and the significance of commanderia. The owner also knows all the wineries on the island and can recommend specific ones dependant on your preferences.

The place is nice, but not worth it. The owner does several things together, and had no time for the people. The wine is good but there is nothing to do up here. Not recommend at all!

Amazing place to get to know the history of wine in Cyprus as well as to get to know a big variety of delicious wines while biting on fresh local produce.

Our group of four absolutely loved this spot! The small museum was very easy to find and the owners made the experience amazing. We only had a short stop in Cyprus but the museum was close to the castle and was a great way to try local foods and wines for a cheap price. Definitely a must stop.

I visited the Museum on Saturday 18th September and was fortunate to meet the founder and owner Anastasia Guy. The tour was very interesting and informative. I also discovered that Anastasia is a composer of classical music and that recitals are held at the museum on a regular basis. I attended a recital on Friday 24th September. See photo. If you visit the museum I recommend checking if there are any recitals as well. The recital was attended by a mixed audience of locals, ex patriates and visitors. I shall endeavour to return as soon as I can.

Brilliant museum with very friendly and welcoming guide and staff - including Alexander & Sasha - 2 very welcoming members of the team. Informative, in-depth, interesting, take on Cypriot wine history and beginnings from the Limasol area. Well worth paying the €10 per person as this includes a full taste experience of locally made wines on offer. Encouraged to buy some vino at the end and this was also well worth it as they don't charge an extortion. Highly recommend this as an axcursion for the afternoon, especially if you've just been up to the Apollo Hylates Parthenon only a few kilometers away (€2.50 entry per person)

For as low as 4euros, you’ll get more than what you paid for. Amazing wine history as told by the tour guide. Great selection of Cypriot wine and a free taste of the Commandaria wine! There is also a small vineyard on the way out. Beautiful museum. Plus a bonus for cat lovers- cute cats around the museum☺️

Cyprus wine has been transformed in quality over fairly recent years and the museum is a great place to chart its development. Very interesting to visit enhanced further by an opportunity to try and buy. Well worth an hour or so .

Had an absolutely amazing time learning about the history of wine production in Cyprus! Wine tasting is absolutely worth it! Video at the beginning is basically a 10 minute PowerPoint presentation of pictures sadly but this didn’t detract from the experience.

We came upon this by chance as we travelled from Nicosia to Paphos. The hostess was very knowledgeable and friendly. The museum itself was very interesting and the wine tastings were delicious!

  • 4/5 Mitchell H. 2 years ago on Google
Classic, rustic building. The host was brilliant with his knowledge of the area and history of wine in Cyprus. Good wine tasting with lots of information on the wines. After a good piano song from the ancestors we were left to watch a video which was a little dated though
