It's my first time visiting a monastery. It's a very interesting experience for me. I like the decorations inside and the peaceful atmosphere. Regardless the dress code, I wear long dress and was covering my shoulders just out of respect. But I see people there with tops and shorts too. I guess they are quite relaxed about this.

It's huge, it's so powerful and yet so peaceful. Monastery is full of art pieces, each holy icon is made from little colourful mosaic pieces and took my breath away! You can walk pretty much everywhere.

I really like this place on the island: the beauty and grandeur of the frescoes, the buildings of the monastery themselves, a quiet courtyard with a well, a museum. Especially early in the morning I like to go there, when there are still no tourists, silence, grace and there are always fresh prosphora in the church, no fuss, monks at breakfast, birds sing ... Amazing place and one of the most beloved in Cyprus. the photos were taken with an iPhone and, of course, do not convey the brilliance and splendor that is there, in the monastery passages and courtyards.

It’s a nice drive up the mountain to this monastery. The mosaics and paintings are all in excellent condition and the walk around the interior is very nice. It’s free to get in and they have snacks and drinks for sale out front.

Amazing views. Very calm and holy place. It was calm for a saturday, but I guess that is due to the end summer season. The road to get there is... challenging. I though we were going to die at least 5 times. If you are not used to right driving, and you don't have an automatic - good luck to you. But this place will be worth it

Beautiful views across the valleys, interesting museum within the monastery and they will provide a purple gown for visitors to wear if not wearing appropriate clothing. There are lots of stairs within the monastery so something to bear in mind if travelling with young children. Great day out!

Beautiful beautiful beautiful! Probably one of the best monasteries in Cyprus! It’s a long ride but it’s worth it! Everything was beautiful. The icons, the art of the icons, the walls that had icons all over and were made from small colorful rocks. 😍 I loved it. No pictures allowed in the church. We didn’t have enough time so we didn’t enter the museum which we regretted later on. Highly recommend going.

It takes a bit to reach the monastery but it's worth the visit. The entry to the main areas of the monastery is free and there is an entrance fee to visit the monastery museum. The sanctum of the monastery is stunning. The mosaic tile art all over is wonderful. Plan to spend atleast 2 to 3 hours when visiting this monastery. Public transport looked bleak so plan a private trip.

Famous place and it is really well kept. Has modern structures and building going on. The real impresive thing is museum. Really nice things too see. Really old and really interesting. I am sure that you will see something for first time in your life overe there :) couple of shops for interesting purchase also. Icons are nice variaty. Not sure price is good but it is what is it after all.

It's nearly 40km of windy road up to the Monastery. A very beautiful church where you can enter to light a candle, say a prayer or just sit and take in all its beauty. Check the monasteries website before going for info about covering shoulders etc. The museum is equally as beautiful and full artefacts and old icons of interest. Worth a visit.

An inspirational building with amazing wall paintings and mosaics. The route can vary depending on where you travel from with numerous tight bends and some areas where rock falls need careful driving to avoid damaging your car. Take time to stop to take in the view down and across the Cedar Valley.

Amazing place . The paintings and architecture must have taken years to complete. You are provided with a robe for going into some areas. You can then go further up the mountain to the tomb of Makarios. There is a golf buggy that takes you up part of the way as it’s quite a long walk.

These days a wonderful place to visit because you feel like you are almost alone in the Monastery. You can walk around relatively free and look at what you want to look at. We spent more time here, than we thought, because we also visited the museum (for which you have to pay 5€) and it was worth it! The church is really beautiful and the decorations there but also everywhere else in the monastery are stunning. It’s much bigger than we thought! Don’t miss going up the hill to the statue and higher up to the second church, which was locked unfortunately. Bit still the view looks amazing and the upper church is really beautiful outside.

It's nice for what it is. Place was a bit icy, which is completely understandable. However I thought they would at least prepare for tourists by spreading some salts around to melt the ice and provide grip.

Pretty monastery, with beautifull murals and mozaiks. When in the area this is a must visit! Do not forgot to go into the chapel as it was one of the most beautiful byzantine chapels I have ever seen!!!

Lies 20 km west of Pedoulas, is one of the wealthiest and best-known monasteries in Cyprus. There's a gift shop and museum inside. Entry fee is €5 to the museum. I visited here as part of the group tour trip. Wonderful scenery on the way to this monastery. Although it was the Easter long weekend, it was not too busy when I visited. High recommended.

Gold, silver, rich paintings - all you can see here. Monastery is impressive, nów I can see why it is the most rich monastery in Cyprus. Definetely worth to see it. Entrance to museum is paid. I wonder what the money came from for it? Interesting experience for me :)

It's a well maintained and clean monastery. Some staff are more helpful than others who talk to one another whilst you are waiting for service.

The monastery is situated in a stunning mountainous region, and visitors are welcome to explore its interior at no cost. However, there is no English-language information available, and visitors are limited to walking around the surrounding area. It may be preferable to opt for a guided tour of the monastery in order to fully appreciate its beauty and historical significance.

Very beautiful and pristine monastery. Museum is world class with amazing artefacts. Well worth the 4 hour return drive from Paphos, through very windy mountain roads. Note: Roads are in excellent condition - you just need to drive round the occasional rockfall

Lovely Abbey, definitely worth a visit. Stunning church before you exit with pots of artefacts. Museum also on site but didn't go in.

Beautiful place with outstanding artwork everywhere and a spiritual place for Greek Orthodox worshippers. Free To Enter but be respectful it is a religious site.

Spectacular drive up with many places to stop and admire the view and complete silence. The monastery itself is very well looked after with wonderful mosaic work on most walls. There is a church and a very large and informative museum on site totally worth a visit. Don't forget to bring some food for cats.

This is incredible! Beautiful peaceful place with nice monastery. Littlebit hard to find get into the place, there are lot of entrance but they were randomly closed. Girls have to wear acceptable clothes (no short skirt and top). The route is long from Paphos on serpentine. But its worth to visit!

Nice place, free to walk around. Typical orthodox monastery with loads of golden items. The road to it is amazingly beautiful!

A 900 years old monastery. Located high in the Troodos mountain. They let you enter 80% of it, free of charge. There is also a museum in which they charge a small admission fee. Highly recommend.

First of all - not religious whatsoever. But worth visiting? Definitely. The way the spaces interact, the artwork in both mosaic and paint, absolutely everywhere - is very special. It's quite surreal leaving the tranquility of the monastery to be back on the open winding roads of the mountains.
