    J. Price Park is Priceless! Photo, friendly, nature, water, trees, trails, peaceful. Be sure to check out the boat rentals.

Great place no matter the season but... in the fall with the leaves changing was an epic stop on our way up the Blue Ridge parkway. The lake was totally set off by the vibrant colors of the leaves. Minutes from Blowing Rock, easy places to park, nice walking trails and a cool spillway. We stop there every time we are up in Blowing Rock. The fall colors really set it off today.

Nice promenade with wonderful lake views. Campgrounds, picnic areas, and lakeside trails are all close by. The campground was also great - it was well maintained and has easy access to the Boone Fork Trail.

Nice campsite in a great area to enjoy excellent riding roads and near the charming town of Blowing Rock. We were there with trailer and motorcycle in late September. It was very quiet. Only downside, it was a long hike from our site to the bathhouse.

This park and campground is right off the Blue Ridge Pkwy and near Blowing Rock, NC. There is a campground, hiking trails, a waterfall, an amphitheater, a lake, and boat rentals. We camped here for 5 nights and had a great time.

I didn't even know about this park or that it was part of the Blue Ridge Parkway! We only stopped to take pictures, but the views were beautiful from the lake and surrounding areas.

Before leaving the mountains for the coast, this was always a go-to on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The lake is always peaceful and serene any time of the year. It is a great place to just sit and relax by the water and center. I haven't played on the water, but a lot of people use it recreationally. Not too far from this overlook is a boat dock and campground. There are also a couple of trails down the Parkway from this overlook.

Julian Price Memorial Park is an absolutely spectacular park right outside of the town of Blowing Rock off the Blue Ridge Parkway. There are several places you need to stop along your scenic drive, and I would say this is one of them. It’s stunning in autumn, but still incredibly beautiful in summertime. Julian Price Memorial Park features Price Lake, a picturesque mountain lake where visitors can walk around the perimeter on trails, kayak, and more (with free parking, as an added bonus). There are restrooms (port-a-potties) and really neat rock outcroppings you can walk to that allow for some privacy away from where others are walking. There are also numerous campgrounds nearby with all the amenities you’d need, and many more hiking trails within the park itself. Just down the road from the lake is Wylie Creek that has tons of parking, grills, and beautiful creeks that run all throughout the area for kids to play in. If you visit on a holiday like 4th or July or Memorial Day, you’ll see hundreds of people all gathered together with their families, having BBQs, kids playing in the rivers, and it’s just a really nice time. There are many different places worth seeing here at the Julian Price Memorial Park, so your best bet is to book a couple of nights at a hotel near Blowing Rock, and then explore both west and east on the Blue Ridge Parkway to see all of what the Appalachian Mountains have in store for you. This is one of the most beautiful areas in the entire United States!

A nice walk around the lake in the morning. Very quiet and lovely view from every angle to the lake. There are some benches to relax. Bring water along or some picnic, even though there is a great and huge picnic area across from the lake with a creek running through. I loved that place.

What a breathtaking view of the lake. The trail around the lake is like a walk in the woods. Great for even small children. You can rent a canoe or kayak to experience the lake during the summer season. Recommended for a stop on the Blue Ridge Parkway

Beautiful area off the Blue Ridge Parkway. The separate picnic area is great with plenty of picnic tables and grills. Surrounded by streams to explore. Well maintained grounds. Camping area as well has many options including handicapped accessibility. Would like to see the bathroom facilities updated, especially on the B loop. Ours had no functioning light. The boat dock for canoes and kayaks also has camp firewood for purchase (snacks too). Very friendly staff. Deer in the area were not afraid at all and visited our camp site in the morning. Good trails to explore around the camping grounds and Price lake.

Great views! Peaceful. Parking area and a sidewalk to capture stunning views. My photos are doing this area a disservice because the place is gorgeous. There are little cut out areas to capture different views of the area (not shown on my photos). The parking area was big enough to hold several cars and it was easy to navigate. Go! Explore!

Great camping spot. There are both spots to pre-register and first come. All the sites we saw are nestled in the mountains with lots of trees. Even when the site was full, it offered some privacy. The restrooms/showers on D Loop were very nice. It also has a great sink for filling up water and washing dishes. We didn't have much time to explore the rest of the park, but it is conveniently located to many places in the area.

Great place to spend a day or a weekend. There's picnic areas, a campground, hiking trails, kayak rental, a beautiful lake, and it's all right off the parkway. There's restrooms available as well on the campground. The dam at the parkway is great because you can walk down below for some great photos.

This location is a great place to take a brief hike for an hour or two. It's an easy hike with little elevation variation around the beautiful Price Lake. This hike would be dog friendly with ample parking on the parkway. There are bathrooms but I've been told they are frequently locked. Bring some water you may be thirsty by the end if not.
