What a neat place. FYI: the 'admission' fee is a suggestion of $10. They ask for a donation and would likely accept any amount you give them. Guy at the gate was quite friendly and helpful for us first-time visitors. Gave us a map and told us the visitor center was closing at 4pm. According to the information provided to us, this place has 40 miles of trails. There are large stretches in the center area that are unshaded, so please bring plenty of water. Quite a bit of one-way roads and so forth, so watch the signs and pay attention. Restrooms were very nice. The visitor center and gift shop appeared to have nice things inside, we just didn't go in. Parking lots and spaces all over the place. Kids area looked cool. We did see several charging stations in the main parking lot by the visitor center. Go do the forest canopy overlook thing. Very deceiving from the map, but it's a pretty good drive up there (couple miles maybe?). Many of the trees and stuff have markers on them so you can learn about what you're seeing. Quite a few quotes from folks and informational signs, too. The 'giants' are quite adorable and very cool. Make sure you see them all. Just because. They're just really neat for sure! I'd like to go back again and do some more hiking/walking around. Take it in better. Give yourself a few hours and don't rush. :)

Such a beautiful and relaxing place. Support the forest by getting a membership. Donation of $15 (per car) is suggested when entering, but I'm sure they will take $5 or $10 if that's all you have. I don't think they would turn you away. Four trips at $15ea will pay for the membership then you just show you membership card upon entering. Actually a great deal. Members get a discount on special events. I haven't been to any special events yet. Very nice hiking trails or just walk near the lake or giants. The gift shop is very nice and the staff are extremely friendly. Enjoy your visit.

I've wanted to see this place for years, and it was really awesome! Such a beautiful and well-maintained park. I just wish crowd control was a bit better lol. Took a while before I could get a shot without any people in it. But no worries about it-I'm glad the park gets crowded. More donations = more park!

This was a very nice place to visit Kid friendly, Easy walking trails ( most are in shaded areas expected the walk around the pond area ). Big plus is its FREE .With a $10.00 Suggestion Donations per car 🚗 If you are unable to walk far there is a parking area near each giant . Port a potties are located at each parking lot plus a nice bathroom in the gift shop . There is a water bottle refill station by the bathroom that you can refill your water bottle and the water is ice cold 🧊 I didn't eat at the Cafe but did see some of the entries and they looked delicious. Lots of shades area with picnic tables for a picnic . I would advise you to wear comfort shoes , Bring plenty of water , hat and walking stick . Have Fun and Enjoy your visit Visited on 9/4/21

Place is spacious and oh so amazing. I was really pleased. If you have children their playground has to be one of the best I've encountered in all of the country. Playground designers should take note and bring these concepts to playgrounds nationwide. The gift shop has an assortment of cool local items and relevant items I wished there were more Giants related merchandise. The giants are a sight to behold. Really phenomenal work. Also, we saw a blue heron on the premise. It was magical. What a lovely trip.

I loved this place so much. It’s a large imaginative playground and garden. The pond was full of turtles and fish waiting for a bite to eat. The giants were super neat. We spent about two hours here. I would love to go back.

Honestly, this was a last minute decision to stop and visit, and I was so glad that I did. Bernheim was a beautiful and meticulously maintained nature park and education center. The Giants exhibit throughout the park was an awesome addition helping to hold your excitement as you toured the many trails and stopped to take in the sights and sounds of nature along the way. I enjoyed the conservation noted and tidbits of information about the park and their efforts to conserve. While I did not visit for an education tour, there was so much to do for kids and groups, and all of the nature trails throughout the park meant that there was plenty for everyone to see and do. Definitely worth a visit, or two or three.

Visited this beautiful wonderland during winter so there were not many people or plants blossoming but it was still stunning! Some of the main buildings were closed because of off-season and renovations but it still have tons to see. There are multiple pull offs and parking areas and plenty of places to stretch your legs or walk your animals. Lots of hidden away areas to chill, tons of trails and big open green spaces. I would say that this whole place is wheelchair accessible although it might be a bit rough accessing everything since it's quite a large park and of course not all of it is paved. This place has something for all ages and health levels. Gorgeous wildlife here too! For a donation of $10, your vehicle full of people can stay all day and finally get that well deserved peace of mind and fresh air. It is very worth it!

Beautiful place, have many options for walking trails. We choose the giants and it was about 2.3 miles or 1:30 minutes if you have kids. It gets super hot but halfway there is an ice cream truck and bathrooms so that helps. Recommended to anyone that like nature and walking and the park is just worth it.

What a wonderful place! We had a delightful walk through the forest with our two 🐕 dogs. We met so many other families enjoying the forest with us. The weather was good to us all, beautiful sunshine 🌞 with a lovely cool breeze. Ideal for a visit to three magnificent giants! The Giants Trail 👣 was such fun and the sculptures were amazing making an already wonderful place all the more amazing.😀 I am partially disabled and walk with a cane but they have made this walk in stages for all abilities. You can walk the whole way, part way and dive to other sites to visit the giants. There are walks and trails to suit all levels of ability and fitness. I guarantee you will find a part to enjoy bring a picnic or visit the Cafe! Sit by the ponds or by one of the sculptures. Anyone who loves the countryside will love this beautiful place.

This park is great. Unfortunately, it's so hot and my girls are so tired from the last 2 days of vacation that... I'm so glad that I brought their stroller. We only walked 1.5 miles mostly around the pond. Didn't make it to the giant trail because we missed a turn. I expected the trail to be marked at every turn to each of the giant. Maybe I missed it. Didn't want to back track, and decided seeing 1 of the 3 is good enough. When the weather is nicer or if I live in the area, I could see myself coming back to explore different trails. The main road is one way, with half the lane foe walkers. The layout of this park is very safe for pedestrians.

This Arboretum is absolutely gorgeous and the forest giants are so fun! It is free admission but they recommend a donation. The trails are relatively flat to see the giants and very accessible. There ate more advanced hiking trails as well. We really enjoyed the cafe that is inside the welcome center/gift shop. They have healthy fresh options that are made from food grown there on site! It was chilly the day we went (Sunday) so it wasn’t crowded at all!

Beautiful!!! The lady (I think Linda was her name) at the entrance was so welcoming and friendly and gave great directions. My mom and I enjoyed it so much we went back 4 days later with my daughter and grandson. Follow the the big yellow footprint 👣 and you will find the Giants, but there is so much more to see. Mr. Richard one of the park ranger was super helpful. Encourage the children to observe with their ears, not just with their eyes. Nature is beautiful Parking is good, bathrooms are clean.

It was a great visit with plenty of trails to walk and semi easy access to see all three creatures. It is quite a walk to visit all three, but you can drive around the park for quicker access. Overall, we enjoyed the time outside and hope to visit again. They do ask for a donation per vehicle. We gave $15 and feel it is well worth the price. I do wish they would fix the wood on the creatures that is falling off.

We have visited this park twice in the last couple of months and have had a great time. The second time we went to canopy tree walk and it was beautiful. Especially now that it is the fall season. We also have had a lot of fun seeing the giants. They seem to do a good job of keeping the place maintained. We have already recommended this park to others who have come and checked it out and had a good time.

Took a trip out to Eastern KY to see these awesome forest trolls!! Me and my friend took the walking trails to visit each one.even though you could visit each by staying in your car. Couple of things we learned on this trip was 1 good thing they gave us a map and two if we were in a horror movie we'd be dead lol because I got us lost a couple of times and my friend kept wanting to go off the trails lol. I would definitely visit again. It was very beautiful

What an interesting experience! This is a pretty large park and of course has unique pieces of art scattered all around! It is definitely a place you can come back to again and again just so you can eventually see everything! Thanks to the large main road looping around the entire park, we were able to see 2 of the 3 main giants and at least a dozen art pieces in 2-3 hours.

Loved this adventurous place to explore and learn. There are plenty of well groomed trails to make a great afternoon even if it warm outside. The Giants are a sight for even adults, but would be a delight for children.

These are cute but I don't think it's worth the suggested donation to see. The forest giants are spread too far apart and we didn't know you could actually drive to within a reasonable distance of each one. So, just remember that if you don't want to walk a couple miles, you can drive around the park and walk a little ways to each one. The trail sign to the little one was broken and someone laid it on a rock. We ended up going the wrong way because the map was confusing and walked at least an extra mile uphill out of the way. It's a nice park and wish we had more time to explore other areas. Lots of fish and turtles you can feed if you bring quarters to buy the food. The gift shop is way overpriced, so instead of the $15 donation at the entrance, maybe just buy something from the gift shop. Please, don't litter!

I've been going to this place for as long as I remember. My grandmother was a lifelong member, and both she and my uncle now have memorial trees planted here. A great place to spend time in nature and absorb the beauty of the world. Bonus for art lovers is that there's art all over the grounds! Great hiking or sitting, whichever you prefer.

This park is BEAUTIFUL. It is free, but I'd recommend donating at the front gate as this park deserves it. It has maps at the visitor's center where the employees are incredibly knowledgeable and kind. The trails are very clearly marked and there are different trails with varying difficulty levels. I'd recommend bringing quarters to feed turtles and having a lot of time to explore! Some trails close early so if you're looking to do a longer trail, get there early. The Cafe has the freshest food that's grown in the park and the prices are incredible! In the gift shop, products from local artists/small businesses are available and they're so worth the prices. Definitely prepare for ticks/bugs but that comes with any outdoor place. I would certainly recommend this place to anybody - it's truly incredible and there's so much to explore. It's a must-see for sure!

It was hot out there but worth the trip. We did the hike for the Forest Giants and it was pleasant. There was a lot of wildlife on the trails. There was even more to this place that we didn't see. We will absolutely be back in the fall to see the trees changing and to walk in the cooler weather. It is free but they ask for a donation at the front gate. Cards are accepted. There are a few stations along the pond to get fish/turtle food for a quarter...definitely do that.

This place is great for adventure for all. Walk paths leading you to finding giants and local wood works. Lovely little cafe for a snack, beautiful forest of variety of trees, a garden you can visit and ponds to look into. Lots of opportunities to take pictures and be silly in nature.

Amazing, beautiful forest, hikes, and play areas. The kids could spend hours playing here, creating lives and building with the fallen branches! We spent over 4 hours in the cold and a few rain showers. Go to the fire tower if it's open. This is the perfect place for a weekly hike or nature play!

Entry was free, but donations are "suggested." Bernheim Forest has beautiful hiking trails ranging from easy to difficult. You can spend a couple of hours enjoying the easy hiking loop to see the giants or spend the entire day completing multiple hikes. The forest giants are incredible! After hiking in the sun/heat we ate in the air conditioning at Isaac's Cafe where we found a variety of soups, salads, and sandwiches made with ingredients harvested from the edible garden on site. Although we didn't but anything, the gift shop was better than most we have come across.

It's definitely not a dull walk. From the trek from one giant to the next, with beautiful bridges and forests between, this place is perfect for adventures. They also have an edible garden and a sensory garden which were delicious ;) The signs say do not pick so for those easily tempted, stay away from the tomatoes and the green onions.

  • 5/5 Kevin L. 7 months ago on Google
This place was an amazing hike and absolutely gorgeous all around. Definitely recommend this place if you're interested in a nice hike/walk and wanting to lose yourself in nature. Remember, take only pictures and leave only footprints.

Went here on a nice warm, not hot evening at the end of August/summer. Was able to find two of the giants from driving to the different parking areas and walked a short distance to find them. We were not prepared to do the 2 mile hike around to them all. I think the last one is further away is why we didn’t make it. This is a really nice and clean park. Definitely going to stop back in when I have more time. Was in the park only about 1.5 hours. Really want to visit when the leaves start changing colors. Make sure to have some quarters with you to feed the fish and turtles some food. They turtles will come to where you’re standing waiting to be fed but we didn’t have any with us. It’s free to enter but donations are welcomed.

Finally got to visit this place. The grounds are fantastic. Lots of neat trails. A really good place to visit with kids or otherwise. It was a little disappointing to find that there are only three giants. I was more under the impression there were several. But still fun.

My kids love it here!!! I told them we were looking for giants so that was thrilling. The natural park for kids is unique. So many trails and sculptors throughout the park. Not many people the times I’ve gone. We pack snacks and food because we spend hours here and still haven’t made it through the entire park or to the third giant.

  • 5/5 Shirley K. 1 year ago on Google
It was a magnificent day & well worth the $15 car entrance fee. The parking lots were full BUT, there was plenty of space to have a private walk & conversation. There were two Hawaiian Ice trucks set up in the park & a really nice Cafe in the gift shop. Lots of picnic tables available & a large enclosed area for kids to burn off some energy. Be sure to get a map!

  • 5/5 Hanyu C. 10 months ago on Google
We have so much fun here. The Giants are really cool, couple of trails that you can walk throughly, and the view are awesome! My dog loves here, too!

Wished we had better planned so we could've spent more time here. Is not free to get into the park ( highly encouraged $15 per car "donation") but huge park with beautiful trees, trails, and the Forest Giants! Even had a Kona ice truck on one end of a trail as you crossed over the main roads you get to other trails. Would like to go during the fall and cooler months as I'm sure the all the foliage is beautiful! Take water with you as you will be thirsty.

Bernheim is always a wonderful adventure! The weather was perfect, and the timing was immaculate to capture the beautiful show of fall colors on the trees. It was a little crowded due to the great weather, and it was disappointing to see people smoking right on the common paths with there being a warning regarding dry conditions. 😕 Aside from that, it was wonderful to see so many families enjoying the great outdoors. Great place for a hike, biking, fishing, and photography. The Giants never get old. Definitely worth a visit.

  • 5/5 Samantha B. 1 year ago on Google
This is a lovely park. Worth the $10 donation per car to get in. We packed a picnic, found a great spot by one of the ponds, got to feed turtles and fish, and enjoyed walking to see the Forest Giants. We arrived later than we wanted to, due to traffic so we didn't really have time to explore much more than that. We want to return to do the tree top walk and just explore more. Overall a great family day. People were trying to maneuver strollers along the paths, if you have a stroller that handles gravel well, it will be easier. Some parts are paved, some gravel and dirt. We did 8 of the 41 path miles.

  • 5/5 Kelly F. 1 year ago on Google
Beautiful place to visit and walk around all the different trails and see the many different types of plants and trees. We were able to see the Giants and we’re amazed at how big they were and the time it must have taken to put them together .We got a chuckle out of all the people fishing where it was posted not to fish . They have a small little cafe along with a wonderful gift shop. Great place to take the family and your fur kids .

  • 5/5 Tonya C. 7 months ago on Google • 16 reviews
There is no cost to enter, but a suggested donation of $15 per car is posted. Where else can you spend an entire day safely exploring nature while keeping the entire family entertained? There were well kept walking paths for strollers and small children as well as exploratory trails through the forest for more active adults. There were a variety of gardens, picnic areas, learning centers, a play area, ponds with walking bridges where you could stand or sit and watch the underwater life, and of course the giants! I stopped to check it out with my mom on Saturday, then went back with my son and grandkids on Sunday. After hours and hours of exploring, we barely scratched the surface of all that this place had to offer, and I can't wait to go back to explore another section of this amazing hidden gem!! Oh yeah, and it's pretty friendly so every member of your family is welcome to enjoy the experience.

This place is a never disappointment, even with not much blooming its still beautiful. We even met the great grandson of Mr. Bernheim (how cool is that!) That statue is where Mr. Bernheim and first wife are buried. We live kinda close and love coming here. We always donate, if you can do so 💜
