PILLOW ALERT! I am a side sleeper and I need to sleep with a thin pillow. However each room here is provided with only thick fluffy pillows that look nice but are really painful to sleep with. I woke up in the middle of the night with a stabbing pain on the side of my neck because the pillow was too thick. I slept the rest of the night without a pillow. It was miserable. The next morning I went downstairs and spoke with management. They said they only have one standard type of pillow and there were no other options with Westin. I've stayed at many other cheaper hotels and they have always had thinner pillows if you ask for them. I'd really like my money back.

Nice hotel! I always check my bed and this time was no different. There was hair on all the pillows. After calling front desk, they had someone bring fresh towels. The rooms were clean otherwise. Loved the inside pool which is great in cold weather. There is a Starbucks downstairs. Two fitness rooms. Nice area. Dispensary & Massage spa next door. Restaurant connected to the hotel.

The only hotel I'll stay at in this area!! I had to make alternate arrangements and needed a place to stay in a pinch. The parking lots are on the north and south of the building, but you can pull up front to load and unload. The lobby is warm and welcoming with a large fireplace and comfortable seating. The staff is welcoming and friendly and helpful. Check in was a breeze. The doors to the north bring you into Saranellos Italian restaurant which has very good service and food. The opposite direction brings you to all different size banquet halls. A walk to the elevators brings you past the swimming pool to the left and gift/snack shop to your right. The key card doesn't even have to come out of the sleeve, just touch it to the pad and your door unlocks. The room was clean and comfortable. I will be staying here again!

I was expecting this to be a normal nice hotel, not knowing this would be one of the most posturous experiences of my life. The whole lobby gives a really nice vibe and look, but the room is very different. The fan for the bathroom doesn't even turn on and the shower water only goes cold and never goes hot. please fix this. it will make your customers very happy.

The room appeared to be somewhat dusty, which was disappointing, as a clean and inviting room is a fundamental expectation for any hotel stay. As I walked through the hallways, I noticed a peculiar smell of ozone, which was somewhat unsettling. The aroma wasn't the pleasant, fresh scent I had anticipated, and it did impact the overall atmosphere. The condition of the furniture in the rooms was another concern. It seemed like the furnishings had seen better days, with signs of wear and tear that detracted from the overall comfort and aesthetic. Furthermore, the wallpaper in some areas was peeling off the walls, which gave the impression of a neglected maintenance issue. It's essential for a hotel to maintain its interior decor to provide a comfortable and visually appealing environment for guests. Despite these drawbacks, the Westin Hotel did have some positive aspects, such as its convenient location and friendly staff. Additionally, they can accommodate large venues and is surrounded by eatiers.

Wonderful staff, courteous and friendly staff. Room was clean and welcoming. Lounge has good scenic views but food options were average.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, great beds and a (very busy) Starbucks in the main lobby. Would like to see some basic things replenished when room service comes in. Ex. creamers for the coffee machine, complimentary water and body lotion. Not sure if they typically don't, but I'm on a premium floor so wouldn't think this is 'extra'? Appreciate the fresh towels and made bed.

I hate that I only took 1 picture because this was a nice hotel. Quick and very clean. Customer service was great, and the Srarbucks on site was an extra bonus.

The rooms were your average rooms, nothing special about the rooms vs other Marriott Hotels like Courtyard, etc. The room was spacious and nice, but no wow factor. Staff members were welcoming and nice. The parking lot is bit off the main entrance and all the doors seemed like they were locked, but found out that you needed to pull hard to open one of the doors.... The most important part was that - the bed was firm and neighbors didn't make a lot of noise, which was nice. Most likely stay here again.

October 2023. Room 618. They didn't VACUUM the rug floor in the room. It was disgusting. They took our wet, used towels off our bed and re-folded them and put them back on the rack as if they were fresh. Ignored the Do Not Disturb sign on the door.

Clean, classy, and great accommodations as well. The restaurant had some great smelling food, although I missed trying on a time crunch. Look forward to servicing again.

We stayed overnight to attend a wedding at Chevy Chase Country Club. The room was nice but it was obviously a smoking room in the past which was difficult for me. Still a nice stay.

Easy to find hotel (literally 16 floors in an area where things are like 2-3 floors so it stands out). Room was nice and clean, the staff that we interacted with were friendly and professional.

This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at, and I travel A LOT. The staff is so kind and helpful, and the rooms are beautiful, comfortable, and so clean. I always look forward to my stay here, and find it to be such a lovely, relaxing, and enjoyable hotel. Nicholas and Cristina remember me when I arrive, and always check in to make sure my stay is going well. Staying here feels like home. The restaurant is delicious, as are the few restaurants right around the hotel. Can't say enough amazing things about this gem of a hotel other than that I can't wait to come back!

It has the amenities that I need and it does not have the amenities that I do not need. In addition, all it's appliances, furnitures and fixtures are working. Rooms are cozy and spacious. The lack of breakfast is not too much of a big deal compared to the positives it does have.

This hotel is very large, and so groups will often be staying – during the summer months especially, that might include many youths and/or sports teams. Also note that the hotel is pet-friendly. We were forced to change rooms late at night due to unattended dogs next door barking constantly, which seriously soured our stay. However, hotel staff were accommodating, the rooms were comfortable, and there are many adjacent restaurants, with the location also being convenient for many locales in northern Cook County or southern Lake County.

The room next door had a fight until 2am before they brought the cops in, the next day the hotel started to do maintenance at 9am... otherwise the rooms are decent, the swimming pool and gym rooms are small but clean.

Loved it. We came to Navy graduation, and this hotel is just close enough, without being stuck in the city. Awesome staff, quick check in, great rooms with very good matresses. Everything super clean! We did come during some type of competition for cheerleading, so hotel was super busy at the lobby, but the staff still made time and helped us. Super awesome crew!

In February, the room was hot. The thermostat was set very low. It didn't cool down all day, and I had to open a window at night to get the temperature down. The cold water to the room was HOT. In order to get room-temperature water, you had to clear the hot water out of what was supposed to be the cold water pipe by running the bathtub on cold! Then the temperature of the shower swings! Without touching the knob to the shower, it would go from a good temperature to very cold, to scalding hot. If you want to stay more than 30 seconds in the shower, you have to constantly adjust the knob. The front desk will screw up your name and contact info, because I've been getting someone else's receipt and survey emails for their room. Plus Westin will continue to pester you to leave a review of the hotel. so that's what I'll do.

Clean and spacious rooms w/ comfortable beds. Check-in was quick and easy. Express checkout was super convenient. The wifi is $15/night and there’s no vending machine or 24/7 snack area. The in-house Starbucks doesn’t accept the app and the drink taste a bit off. Overall, decent hotel.

It was a great stay! Just sad the hot tub was no longer existent (temporary wall built blocking it off) and the bottom of the pool at sight doesn't look very appealing. Other than that the room and stay was wonderful, it's close to everything, and they have a cafe on the premises.

Verquise Harper at front desk was cheerful and very accommodating. He helped my injured boyfriend get a handicapped accommodating room, but made us laugh the whole time and feel like our needs were being met.

I am updating this review as the management did such a wonderful job, and really made this a terrific stay. Thank you so much for ensuring this was a wonderful trip, while visiting my daughter nearby. The staff has been very friendly and accommodating. The room is clean and the service is more than expected. The room is ample and everything is very clean and comfortable. Our view is beautiful. Also the restaurant downstairs is really tasty and not too pricey. The service there is lovely. There is a Starbucks here which does make things convenient, and parking is easy with more than enough room for customers and any visiting guests.

I had high expectations for the holiday weekend. Was disappointed that valet wasn’t available, bellman never available when needed, very short bell carts. Parking was fairly inconvenient, whether hotel or conference guest. Breakfast in the adjoining restaurant was limited in selections, overpriced, but decent. The hours of the Starbucks/gift shop were disappointing. Several extremely rude staff members, others were most helpful. My room wasn’t serviced one day (I was gone 9-6). The room/hallway/ballroom/gym thermostats didn’t seem to function well. Very warm and humid. The hotel had many weddings and sports teams/ they could have done a better job room planning accordingly instead. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless the location is perfect for you. Definitely doesn’t meet expectations of a full-service hotel but was a clean, simple stay.

Overall good experience. Hotel looks nice; rooms are updated and clean. Wish they had a hot tub. Our feet were aching after dancing all day and we would have loved to dip them in a hot tub. Tried to take a hot bath in the room tub but there was no stopper to keep the water in.

We had an amazing stay at the Westin! I couldn’t give it more praise. The staff was friendly and warm. They were extremely helpful and made sure we were happy with our stay. Our room was clean and comfortable to stay in. Definitely had a wonderful experience staying here.

Clean, nice rooms. The service is excellent at this hotel! Christina Lorena at the front desk were so friendly and helpful. They have a nice gift/coffee shop and a good restaurant attached to the hotel. A great business hotel but also a nice little get-away. Thanks again Christina for all of your help!

The staff was great and space was plentiful And that’s it. Cleanliness was an issue. The hotel appears worn out and neglected. Wall paper is peeling off the walls. Glass doors and window appear like they haven’t been washed on weeks and floors were sticky (including the rug in the room.) The space has potential to become an amazing venue Hope someone notices.

Decent hotel within “walking distance” to multiple dining locations. Elevators will give you motion sickness because they seem to be not calibrated and shake when they move or stop. Daily housekeeping is a huge plus if you’re staying with family and kids or if you’re obsessed with hotel rooms being cleaned daily. If you’re a “no shoes indoors” type of a person/family then floors are going to feel extremely sticky so maybe bring some slippers to wear inside. If you’re staying during weekdays then you might consider taking breakfast included option as you can order from the menu at adjacent restaurant. If your stay falls on a weekend then the breakfast is pretty dull and might not worth spending your points/money on…

This hotel is disgusting. I have stayed here twice because my company is nearby and we have a partnership with them. Every time I’m here, there’s always a bunch of fruit flies in the room. I call to let the hotel staff know and even talk to the front desk and the manager, but they have not done anything. Every time you talk to them, they act like it’s their first time hearing this. See pictures attached for the fruit flies. What a huge let down every time. Please don’t stay at this hotel. I can’t wait to check out. I’m going to tell my company to look at other options.

We have stayed here twice now and it's always been pleasant. The rooms are spacious and clean and the beds are comfortable. The bathrooms same way, front desk staff is really nice as well. You can get this hotel for an amazing price on a good day! Definitely will be back. I really wish the hot tub would open up again however!

We highly recommend The Westin Chicago North Shore if you’re looking for a hotel block to accommodate your wedding guests. The staff at The Westin Chicago North Shore deserve the highest praise for how valuable they were in making our wedding weekend as smooth as possible for us and our guests. Veronica Colpaert, the Social Sales Manager, coordinated a wedding block for our guests to book leading up to the wedding and facilitated delivering the gift bags that we had made for our guests. She was always friendly and prompt in her communication. In one particular situation, Gorges Dawood, the Director of Front Office, really saved us. There was a miscalculation on our part which led to us being short one room for our parents. He calmly double-checked all the records and found another room for us on the spot and gave us the same discounted rate as our current block. On the day before the wedding, the last thing we needed was more stress, and thankfully we had Gorges and the rest of the hotel staff who made everything great for us and our wedding guests. Our wedding was located at Chevy Chase Country Club, from which The Westin Chicago North Shore is conveniently located down the street. That significantly reduced travel time for us and our bridal party as we had a jam-packed day. It also significantly reduced travel time for our family and friends, many of whom travelled out of state to attend the wedding. Our wedding guests enjoyed the nice and clean hotel rooms at The Westin Chicago North Shore as well as the multiple dining options available within walking distance. Thank you, The Westin Chicago North Shore, for being an amazing hotel for us and our guests.

I love it amazing rooms good service its a beautiful! My only concern is that when you have a message on your in room phone it flashes a red light until you listen to it. Other wise I thought it was one of the best hotels I have been to.

Great location . Inviting lobby with fresh flowers.Clean spacious room . Good room service. Convenient Italian restaurant downstairs . Hotel has impressive conference room what you can use for any ocasión.

A+++ customer service and restaurant! Rooms could use some modernization and upgrades to consider this a 4 star hotel. Beds were comfortable and rooms were for the most part clean. My wife and I are very picky and wouldn’t choose this location again, but for the more easy going visitor it will work just fine.

The room literally stunk. Smelled like a wet dog. The only chair in room was a well worn desk chair. The bathroom sink did not have a towel bar. The shower did not work properly. There was only one handicapped space in front of building near entrance and the main parking lot was a long way from front door. Chose to valet park and was charged $21 plus tip. I always thought that Westin Hotels were upper end establishments. Not this one,
