Everything about The Gables exceeded expectations. Located in the historic district, this Victorian style building sits on a beautiful street and welcomes you with a gorgeous entrance. It's BYOB so we brought a fabulous wine selection to go with our meal. The pre fixe menu is $98 for standard items so very reasonable given the quality of the food and experience. My wife and I were joined by my brother and sister-in-law and we all ordered something different. I was very impressed with both of the appetizers, one being an Asian influenced and other Italian. Both were incredibly fresh and flavorful. For dinner, I got the duck and my wife ordered the pork chop. Portion sizes were decent and meat was cooked to perfection. I enjoyed the cheesecake desert. Overall, the best dining experience I've had in LBI.

Nestled within the picturesque environs of Long Beach Island, NJ, one discovers an establishment that is the very epitome of culinary artistry. From the moment one is greeted with a bag of impeccably baked bread and the creamiest of butters, it's evident that a transcendent dining experience awaits. The curated selection of olives and Nana's White Sangria sets a mood reminiscent of a balmy Mediterranean soirée. The appetizer, however, was where the evening took flight. The Jumbo Lump Crab Cake was a celestial dance of flavors, made ethereal with the Fresh Mango Puree and Avocado Mousse. But, dare I say, it was the Spicy Baby Heirloom Carrots that stole the scene, with their delicate kick, hinting at adventures yet to come. The pièce de résistance was The Gables Signature Sixteen Ounce Bone-In Filet Mignon. Cooked to unparalleled perfection, its tender succulence was further elevated by the Truffled Mashed Potatoes and the Grilled Jumbo Asparagus. The Hotel de Paris Butter? A silken whisper of indulgence that made the dish transcend earthly confines. Yet, the evening's curtain call was the Tropical Coconut Custard Panna Cotta. The Passion Fruit Sorbet was like a sonnet, and the mélange of Fresh Kiwi, Mango, and Lychee Pineapple sang in harmonious unity. But what truly amplified the whole experience was the ambiance. As classical piano notes danced in the air, the glow from chandeliers and candlelight cast a gentle luminescence. The generous foliage and vibrant flowers, coupled with the open windows, made one feel they were dining in an opulent greenhouse, where nature and luxury coexisted. In sum, if epicurean nirvana had an address, it would undeniably be this exquisite establishment on Long Beach Island.

I've lived here 11 years and have never taken the time to dine at The Gables. I took my friend here for her birthday. The food was perfectly amazing! The staff, warm and welcoming. The atmosphere, dreamy! I LOVED it and will return.

This a top notch fine dining experience you don’t want to miss!! The food was so delicious. We did the $98 prefix dinner menu for mother’s day and it perfect. My mom had a wonderful experience as did the rest of the party. Doggy bags on the entree portion to make it to our desserts. Our server Kaitlyn was great, she knew the menu inside and out and checked in accordingly throughout our meal. The building and decor is beautiful as well! We’ll definitely visit again!

This establishment refused to serve myself and my elderly aunt a glass of wine. They felt it was not prudent to not provide glass of wine with dinner when we described our plans to Uber home with our whole family Please do NOT plan any gathering here as it was made clear regardless of driving or not they have no intention of being kind or accommodating when a family is trying to pay over $700.00 For a dinner Please spend your Money elsewhere and your family willl thank you!! Happy to recommend many other establishments in LBI as good if not substantially better for 1/2 the price or less Please reach out for a better recommendation directly

Absolutely Devine!!! The Gables Historic Inn is the epitome of fine dining and Long Beach Island’s well deserved gem. The Victorian styled inn is tucked away in a beautifully manicured garden full of precious and exotic plants right next to the beach. I was served generous portions of food with Show stopping presentations. I had the crab cake, seared duck with raspberry sticky rice (still dreaming about it) and the lemon cheese cake-paired with one of their refreshing dessert wines. This restaurant gets 6 out of five stars, they seriously blew my expectations away. What really sold me on this place was the service, though, My server Alex went above and beyond to satisfy all of my desires and made me feel like a true Rockefeller. He even let me take home some of their delicious, fresh house made bread, still warm might I add! If you’re spending some time in the LBI area and want to add a splash of elegance to your vacation, then Gables is the place to go!

I’ve always wanted to dine at the Gables so was very excited to choose them for Mother’s Day brunch. The atmosphere was outstanding but the total brunch bill with tip came to $500 for just 3 adults (drinking just water). The prefixed menu stated $98 per person so you would think they accidentally charged for 4 adults … nope there were upgrades on our meals! I felt very mislead and disappointed.

Beautiful & every detail was thought of to make our experience great. Seats were very close together. Not so private. We did the prefix menu which had not many choices or substitutions unless you paid additional money. The food was absolutely delicious & beautifully displayed. Parking was difficult until we saw the church lot across the street. We ended up paying $270 for 2 of us. No wine just water. It is the most beautiful place but way too much for us.

My wife and I truly enjoyed our autumn weekend at the Gables! We started with dinner on Friday night where the meal was exquisite from start to finish. In particular, we loved the Herb crusted salmon and a delicious pork chop dinner. The burrata appetizer was great as was the crème brûlée dessert. Our room was very comfortable, and there were many thoughtful extra amenities, such as a bottle of Pellegrino in the room and a coffee service in the library that was available throughout the day. Breakfast was superb. We followed up with a lovely walk on the beach then took a drive around Long Beach Island. For dinner on Saturday night we both had the bone in filet mignon, which rivals or surpasses anything you can find in the very best steakhouses. After another wonderful breakfast on Sunday morning, we said goodbye to our hosts, Steve and Sondra. This amazing couple left no stone unturned making sure that we had a relaxing and lovely weekend. The Gable Inn is very highly recommended.

It was an off night at the Gables. It took an hour and 45 minutes between first and second course . When our entrées were served three of four were cold. When dessert was served there were still entree dishes on the table. We told the runner and she said her hands were full. We’ve eaten here multiple times and didn’t expect this unpleasant experience. The server and owner did apologize multiple times, however, for these prices, service and food is expected to be above par.

Just a wonderful place to have a great dinner. All the courses were excellent. It is a byob so bring your favorite beverage. The service and atmosphere were perfect. The Gables is one of our favorite restaurants, absolutely love it....

We were seated by a walk through of a room, tight, people right next to us through an interior window opening. No privacy for conversation, we Waited 20 min for a drink which showed up after first course. Food was good, definitely. I suggest you look at menu, anything of interest has upcharges to the base rate. Do not expect the everything's included as far as food goes, or you will be disappointed.

Sorry to say VERY Disappointed! We dined with our family that lives in LBI & have previously enjoyed their dining experience. 8 of us agreed that none of our meals were amazing as expected. On a positive note, we enjoyed our server and ambience.
