Usually, I have good things to say about Muscle Beach, but unfortunately this is not one. I ordered 4 small soft serve cones and stood in the sweltering walk thru area for 22 minutes (yes I timed it!) waiting for my purchase. There were 5 people before me, with one girl making the 4 milkshakes/cement mixers and 2 soft serve cones for those 5 people. I wondered why the other 6 workers who were standing around couldn't help out by, perhaps, making the simple soft serve cones while the other girl worked FOR TWENTY TWO MINUTES making the other items. Needless to say, I will NEVER go back there for any type of ice cream anything. That was simply unacceptable.

CASH ONLY! The icecream nachos are a must try! There are so many ways to customize them with icecream, sauces, and toppings. The other icecreams were good as well but the nachos are definitely what you should go for. Also the locations is great for being so close to the beach.

Stopped by this gem after a visit to the gorgeous park just down the street. There was no dine in at our visit however they have take out. I ordered the stuffed cheese burger and OMG! was it tasty. We had an hour wait on the food and I am sure glad that my belly told me to stay. The food is spectacular. The staff super friendly. And boy do these guys pump out the tasty ice cream treat. I WILL be back. Thank you all at MusselBeach...a pure Michigan treat.✌️

It was what I thought was going to be a nice day until Vishnu took on a many armed form and said, "Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds." I immediately thought to myself that this didn't seem like the Vishnu I knew and he was probably just mad about how hot it was outside. It was pretty hot. Like Godzilla's atomic breath hot. So I did the sensible thing and took Vishnu to Mussel Beach for ice cream. It obviously calmed him down because we are all still here. Great ice cream makes everyone happy and not all Destroyer of worlds. We should all eat more ice cream. The world would be much safer.

Fantastic places. We Just are There tonight. The workers are so polite and friendly. I had the chicken sandwich. It's fantastic! The burgers are great the homemade fries are fantastic. We just love coming here. Nice location, friendly people, great food. I'm glad to spend money here. Go mussels beach!

Excellent! Ordered the stuffed burger, cheesesteak, fries and onion rings! Food was great but everything was under seasoned and needs more salt. Thanks guys!

Next to Bay City State Park, this restaurant is a local hot spot during the summer months. Shakes, malts and cones seem to be the most popular items, but burgers, hot dogs and such casual fare were also popular. Their onion rings are a reason to stop here according to the locals. During busy times the wait can grow long, even with the inside folks working hard. Mussel Beach is worth a visit.

Was visiting my sister in Bay City recently and we got take out from Mussel Beach for dinner. I ordered a hamburger with fries and loved it! It's seems so rare to get a good burger anymore - It was DELICIOUS!

Enjoyed this place very much has great variety in flavors of ice cream. I am new to the area though still feeling things out and the girl I asked for help the first time was very rude telling me she can’t help me that the next window can. But the young man who helped me was super courteous even said thank you for tipping him. Young people need to take new comers into consideration.

Amazing place, great ice cream, and the best Dole-Whip I've had NSA Country Apple Pie this time, and it was amazing.

Really love this place, pure nostalgia for me (have been coming here since childhood). They no longer have the beloved "twinkle" cone from the days of Gibbs, though. They now only give you plain sprinkles and the little crunchy things that used to be mixed in are gone, so won't be getting that again (very sad about that). But they've added the Dole Whip with tons of flavors and a bunch of other really great stuff. Highly recommend!

Community staple with the best chicken tenders and ice cream around! They only take cash so make sure you are prepared for that. Been going here since i was a kid and now i take my kids here! Never had a bad experience yet! Depending on the day and season the walk up might only be open and they do take out food orders so call before you go if you plan on wanting to dine in.

Very Americana beach core. They advertise having a bunch of dole whip flavors, but were only serving orange. Wasn’t my fav, but would probably go back if they rotated flavors. Service was super fast

An off the beaten path establishment that hosts an insane variety of ice cream and fantastic American-style food. So friendly and good that I stop every single time I come to Bay City for a quick bite out in the car or on their picnic tables. Me and my family love it here.

Onion rings are #1....so good. The rest is pretty good also lol. Ice cream, OMG yum yum, so many different types!

Local ice cream spot that is fun. It gets very busy so parking can be tough. Definitely worth going. Miniature golf right next door as well.

A perennial favorite!! We stop in several times a week when we are staying at Bay City State Park Campground: it's a very easy walk there and back). I generally get whatever Dole whip flavor is going, but have also had many other ice cream flavors, banana splits & sundaes. They also have food available for carryout (dine-in has not Yet resumed). Just order and they will bring it out to your vehicle or bike :-) everything we have had off the menu was GREAT! NOTE: 1. Cash only 2. Slight increase on food menu items- but it's STILL a great value!

It was okay. Ice cream is delicious but they only take cash. Also they don't leave out napkins dispensers and when you ask they only give you like three. So if you're a family of 4 good luck. I would give it 5 if the overall experience was more on point.

The ice cream was very good but the service I received was very disconnected, hum drum, and bland and almost as if it was a chore to listen to and give me what I ordered from the person who took my order to the person who gave it to me the vibe from both widows was very matter of fact especially when I asked why didn't they make what I had asked and paid for.

Always love the drive out here for a cool treat. Havent tried the diner inside but I hear good things.

Food and ice cream are both delicious. Cash only. Lots of choices for kids and adults. Prices are reasonable. Dole whip flavor changes all the time but all are delicious

First and last time I will be here on 8/18/21. This business should also not be taking cash only if their employees can’t count. The girl taking our order was extremely rude, disrespectful and unhelpful. The total for our order was 6.46. I had a coin pouch with a large amount of change and counted exactly forty-six cents out: 1 quarter, 1 nickel, 1 dime and 6 pennies. I handed this to the employee with a $20 bill. She then gives me $13.90 back, saying I only gave her 36 cents. The fact that I know I counted the appropriate amount of change aside, why would she see a pouch of change and assume I gave her 36 cents? If that were the case, why not re-count or ask if I had another ten cents, which I clearly did? Apparently the type of “cents” she needs is the common variety. She also messed up our order: we wanted one cone and a cup, but she gave us two cups. I told her the order was wrong and she said “okay.” Did not tell the other staff to fix the order, did not ask if she could fix the problem, nothing. Just ignored us. I had to wait at the pick-up spot to speak to a different staff member to get the problem corrected. We will definitely not be back after this mess.

Went on 05.29.2021 we got double scoops as we usually do, the girl barely put anything in the waffle cone. The cone wasn't even full. Very dissapointed this time.

Amazing homemade soups! Sooo delicious. Great ice cream too! An 8oz cup of soup is just under $4.
