Fantastic
hotel,
very
modern
interior
where
the
owners
have
really
thought
of
everything.
All
the
staff
are
extremely
friendly
and
helpful,
especially
Catarina,
who
went
out
of
her
way
to
help
and
give
advice.
The
hotel
has
genuinely
nice
staff
and
I
can
only
recommend
staying
here.
It
may
not
be
in
the
centre.
But
not
an
issue
as
the
cab
fares
into
town
start
at
€3.50
and
take
15
to
20
minutes
to
get
to
most
attractions.
Although,
if
you
travel
at
peak
times,
which
seems
to
be
around
6-8.30pm,
the
journey
will
take
longer
and
it
will
cost
around
€9
to
get
from
the
centre.
So
unless
you
enjoy
being
thrust
into
a
throng
of
tourists
as
soon
as
you
leave
your
hotel,
and
paying
tourist
prices
for
everything
(€2.50
shop
prices
for
a
coke)
you're
going
to
save
yourself
a
hell
of
a
lot
of
money
staying
away
from
the
centre.
In
fact,
it's
a
bonus
as
while
you
can't
fully
escape
tourists
in
Lisbon,
you
have
a
chance
to
explore
a
part
of
Lisbon
which
is
a
bit
more
Portuguese.
A
local
restaurant
two
minutes
from
the
hotel
oddly
called
"A
Valenciana"
is
full
of
locals
and
does
pretty
decent
Portuguese
roast
chicken,
rice
and
chips.
The
chips
weren't
really
necessary
nevertheless
a
huge
and
tasty
meal
for
two
including
a
starter
and
two
soft
drinks
came
to
€24.
Try
finding
that
in
the
centre
of
any
capital
in
Europe,
let
alone
Lisbon.
What
I
noticed
though
is
that
the
interior
design
of
the
hotel
is
good,
corners
have
been
cut.
As
an
example
the
laminate
flooring
is
not
the
highest
quality.
It's
clear
this
will
be
a
case
of
"buy
cheap,
buy
twice"
as
it
will
need
reflooring
in
a
few
years.
Not
an
issue
for
guests,
but
a
future
issue
for
the
hotel.
I
would
suggest
that
it's
better
to
get
more
durable
items
rather
than
replacing
and
possibly
given
guest
a
bad
impression
of
an
otherwise
superb
hotel.
