Starter Tandoori fish really tasty, lamb vindaloo rice aloo gobi and house salad plus complimentary popadoms and chutneys. Service excellent and very friendly . We will be returning very soon, thanks to everyone at the restaurant .

We had a lovely dinner here tonight! Friendly service, a comprehensive menu, tasty and authentic Indian food in a lovely environment. They even have outdoor seatings on lovely nights like tonight. So glad to have Indian food in Rio Maior. We will be back frequently!

What a fantastic dinner!!! Two of us shared a Butter Chicken and an Aloo Gobi, the food was delicious and authentic. We had a chance to chat with the staff and they were both friendly and attentive. Great menu, plenty of choices for vegetarians as well! AND they had King Fisher beer :) We recommend this restaurant wholeheartedly. We'll be back again and again!!

My wife and I have been to many Indian restaurants and in fact, this is one of the best I have ever been but I have some things to point out here, not in a negative way but in a constructive way. The plating is fantastic and they serve the food very well. The level of spiciness could be revalidated because when ordering with spicy it does not have the spiciness that is expected. Regarding the space, they could make the space more appealing and with more Indian decoration. Put Indian songs, not the ones we hear when we go to the barber but traditional Indian songs without a voice. Only the instrumental. This would make us travel while we were wearing out the Indian flavours in our mouths. The space can be more exquisite. Otherwise, everything is very good. I love the staff and the owners of the space.

While visiting Rio Maior, my wife and I decided to try the Maharaja Indian Restaurant to sample their menu. The service was very friendly and the meals were served in good time. I tried a Lamb Vindaloo and my wife ordered a Tandori chicken. The food was served professionally and tasted superb. We would recommend this restaurant because it provides a 5 star service with a smile. The waitress was always checking if everything was satisfactory and it certainly was. The waitress was very friendly who spoke perfect English and showed an interest in us and made us feel very welcome. Well done!! we will visit again.
