It would only have taken those four words to make me fall for this location. But when the waitress approached our bench on the outside and asked: „May I serve you?“, it already happened. Maybe it was some kind of prejudice, but in a positive way. After a adventure like walk through the park nearby we were excited to learn what it was about with the crafted and drafted beer here. The guys were nice and supportive all the way. Even short to the regular opening hours we were already asked if we would wait for some beer. So we picked our seats on this cosy bench an dwelled into this experience. It’s good to have a couple of choices about what beer you should try. On one hand. On the other hand it makes it hard as well to get to chose. For this the places is offering a special: if you’re ordering three different sorts at a time this is a trial-board and instead of paying 3,50 € for single orders each you will be charged with 7,50 € only for the three. Great opportunity! Thus we made it through some different tastes and for me in the end it was the milky stout which became my favorite. It combines the classical taste of dry malt with some milky freshness. The dip in between was also good. We went for nachos with guacamole and it was very tasteful. The dip was mor like a salad made of avocados, left some grosser pieces instead of blend it to a smooth paste. And mixed with some sweet cherry tomatoes it came great. Not to forget the place itself. It’s build into an old historical vault which once was a link to the palace in the park. Thanks for the great experience here, guys!

The best beer spot in Lisbon. Every single beer was tasty and worth trying. Also the best sandwiches I have tried for a long time. Owner and service very friendly. This is the place that makes Portugal worth visiting.

I made a point of visiting this incredible brewery during my five day visit to Lisbon. What a wonderful experience it was! Raquel and her staff made me feel right at home from the moment I walked in. Their beer is fantastic, the food was great, even the salsa for the chips was the best I've tasted! The space is absolutely beautiful, and a great escape from the heat outside. I could spend hours here as my local watering cave and wished my city had something as historical, charming, warm and inviting as Quimera Brewpub! Thank you for the kindness, Raquel and staff. You guys have something very special in Lisbon! Cheers from Canada 🍻

Quimera became our immediate favorite during our 2 week stay in Lisbon. One of the most unique spaces for a taproom I have seen. And I've seen a lot of breweries! Great beers. And unique beers like sours, Kveiks and Gruits. Also great pub food: burgers, sandwiches, snacks. What makes Quimera even more special is the staff. Knowledgeable and welcoming. We went at least 4 times. If you love great beers in a wonderful space, do yourself a favor and have a pint or two there

This is a pearl - you feel instantly at home in this originally decorated “cave” mixing 1920’s chandeliers with raw granite stones forming the vault. They serve great craft beers and have a very authentic vibe. For extra entertainment you have board-games and magazines. Definitely Worth a visit!

Very cutesy local pub. Must try the Bloody Mary beer here. The beef burger with kimchi was pretty great too.

I wasn't expecting much in terms of beer selection in Portugal, but this was a pleasant surprise. The building is beautiful and worth visiting on it's own. That being said, if you're into craft beer they have a great selection of very well executed beers. The food was also delicious. Finally, the service was very good and the owners were extremely friendly and shared a lot about their brewery. Definitely a highlight of my time in Lisbon and recommended if you love beer or want to venture past the light lagers elsewhere.

Quimera is a beautifully carved bohemian pub cave radiating an aura of history, merriment, and welcome. We were treated to an impressive and inventive list of homebrewed craft beers, as well as some NY-inspired vegan eats. Our server, Paddy, was endlessly generous in their service and stories about life in Lisbon. We stumbled upon a true gem; a vital stop for lovers of authentic experiences.

😍 Favourite bar of Lisbon holiday. Cool and dark on a boiling hot day, with range of excellent beers. The porter beer was superb!

Excellent beer and an amazing atmosphere. Paddy was a good ambassador for the establishment explaining what the tunnel was and the beers that were on tap. The beers were excellent

Wonderful atmosphere and a fantastic group of people. A nice diverse menu but come here for the beer! The beer was obviously crafted with care. Having a hoppy, balanced IPA in Portugal is a treat beyond belief. A nice stop that beer enthusiasts shouldn’t miss.

Great space, an old tunnel that led to the palace back in the day. Staff was excellent, attentive without being pushy. Had the reuben, it was really good, but if I had not known it was a reuben I would never had known, just so different from the ones I have had in the past. Wife had the burger, really good as well. Good music. Well worth a visit.

Loved Quimera! The range of craft beers is impressive and the staff was attentive and welcoming. The crowd was a mix of Lisbon locals and visitors from all over the world. We ordered two flights to sample the full range of ales (red, American & Indian Pales) as well as ordering sandwiches and burgers (delicious). The space is intimate and unique, and we met so many lovely people that we ended up staying the entire evening. Can't wait for the next visit - highly recommend!

Wow! For us the best of all! We love beer and art. We were welcomed with a great smile and cozy treatment. All was perfect, the music specially. I can understand that for some people it can be a bit outstanding... because it is SUPERB! Iy is for interesting people but never random in any adpect. A place to make friends. The decor is impressive mainly because it reflects the cave idea and the royal historic connection. To explore, drink, laugh, play games...all WONDERFUL. For beer and art lovers.

Having had an excellent pastrami sandwich that took me back years to my wonderful times NYC. The service friendly and welcoming, setting up seating to accommodate a party. The bottle of wine I ordered was delicious and they corked what I couldn't quite finish. We'll be back.

It’s a cool little spot with always very friendly staff working there which makes it nice to go. It has nearly everything it needs to be a great little place to grab a craft beer (something that lacks in Lisbon) However - most of the beer falls quite short. It’s alright at best - (still better than a super bock… not saying much) The taste and carbonation of the beers each time I’ve went were weak and washed out. Two times that I’ve gone , the beer I got quite literally tasted as though it had gone flat from sitting out too long. The only beer that seems to be worth it is the sour , because it tastes like it’s meant to. It’s unfortunate as it’s a cool little place and the people seem to work hard to keep it fun - but it’s hard to go to a craft beer place that has less than average craft beer

Possibly the craft beer highlight of Lisbon?! After a few days of visiting breweries and tap rooms, on our final night in the city we ventured over to Quimera. Slightly out of the way (combine with a trip to LX factory and you’re good) but we’ll worth it. The venue itself is in an old tunnel/cave so it’s quite a unique place to sit, but they’ve done a lovely job with hanging chandeliers and lights to modernise and provide an unusual spin. THE BEERS - very good. Some truly unique brews here, lots of barrel aging and use of Brett means you’re never sure what’s coming next. We had the pleasure of speaking with one half of the husband & wife duo who run the venue who passionately talked to us about each beer we tried. Their NAFIPA was well done, their Michelada was genuinely world class, and their Brett ipa was funky, refreshing and moreish. 3x20cl tasters was 6.50 which is well worth doing three times to get through all 9 taps!!

Great service, great atmosphere, great beers, cool setting with history. Didn't eat but they serve food which looked like typical Portuguese taverna style grub. Multilingual staff. Amazing selection of beers but not much else. Not much other reason other than the beer to come here anyway. Comfortable inside and out. Looking forward to getting back and trying the rest of the beers.

We went there two nights in a row and had the most wonderful experience. Everyone was lovely and provided not only the most delicious craftbeer (Raspberry Sour - the best one ever, followed by Bloody Mary Sour) but a warm and welcoming atmosphere overall. We will forever remember Raquel and Paddy as well as their quirky guests with whom we had the pleasure of spending two magical evenings including a spontaneous jam-session with Pablo the incredible musician from the band Teko Pora. We are absolutely touched and grateful for this place and the wonders it holds!

Great craft beer place in a 18th century cave. Due to location it's not very touristy and often has a place to sit even on weekends. Recommend this hidden gem.

A fantastic experience! Craft beer is excellent and I am something of an aficionado. Congrats to the master brewer! Staff are super nice and helpful. It has frequent live music. Oh and from the tables on the cobble stones to the medieval stone feel inside it’s a great vibe. I already returned ❤️

Hmm, I was there on the same evening as Joan D'Arc whose review is directly below. Perhaps it was a difficult time of the month for her (!), because I had exactly the opposite experience. The handcrafted beer I was served was the result of a careful discussion of my taste preferences---it was exactly what I wanted. And the food is pure New York Deli! When I had an open-faced reuben, it took me right back to Sunday afternoons at Katz's or Carnegie. The staff was incredibly helpful, attentive and good-natured, and the place itself is in a beautiful ancient tunnel playing fantastic music—what more could you ask for in a brewpub? It was my very first time visiting, but certainly not my last. Don't miss this place!

As soon as we approached the entrance we were received with nothing more then a welcoming smile and helpful staff. Their beer selection,12 on tap and plenty more bottled, was carefully presented to us and advised according our preferences. Made by the chef and brewer Adam with the highest of standards! Some classic, some funky and challenging… beer for every palate. Couldn’t have been better! Regarding the place and the ambiance, did you know this tunnel , built in stone and brick, goes back to the 18th century?! Let’s not start on the food… Those NY sandwiches and burgers are just… 👌🏼 Congratulations! Definitely a place to come back!

Came here before going clubbing. Drinks are great, the barman was super friendly doing shots with us at the bar, and it being inside a tunnel gives it a quirky vibe. Definitely recommend this place.

Special, creative, one of a kind place and people! The products are obviously carefully prepared, tasty and big enought to make our group happy. Last and not the least: THE BEERS. Delicate touch of delightful flavors, balance and a good price for the quality offered. Congratulations for this AMAZING EXPERIENCE! 🍻

I have visited a few times, and my friends and I always love it. We love to see our Quimera friends and sample the new beers. On our recent visit we tried the new beer recipes: Mango Gose, Mexican Dark Ale and the Dry Hopped Saison - delicious!! We had guacamole, the grilled goat cheese, burger hoat cheese, vegan sandwich and the Reubens sandwich. Wonderful food! Wonderful service, so friendly and fun! Phenomenal beer — absolutely incredible, and they make it all themselves!!!! One of the owners (Raqel?) was in costume, and so damn friendly. We loved it. We definitely visit again with friends!!
